Hey there guys...every rom i tried has good sound through speaker but is awfully loud through earphones!i can't listen to this levels and i must lower it to 60,70% to make the music audible...
This is so annoying, spent the whole night testing roms and every single one(cm7 based) had this problem(atleast for me...?)

in PowerAMP, equalizer settings and attempt to download everything shown in the picture? down everything, you may find it then I can think of nothing but sorry.
Lol why you need to have it on max volume?!? If 60-70% is good then have it on 60-70%.

Anyway guys thank you for helping!
I wiped everything then flashed gingerdx and alfs kernel and everything works great now!
This thread can close mods!
Try gingerDx!

As I'm writing this I'm listening to music on my leo. It seems the sound quality is kinda fail and i think its because theres no base coming through, is there anyway to improve the bass/f when using it with headphones?

Have you played with the audio booster? I use the "Bass boost" setting on there for exactly the same reason.

I dont think its an actual equalizer. I think its just a setting. Im all about music and switched over to sense for this specific reason. Unfortunately the sound is no where near the quality that i expected it to be so i went back to MIUI and listen to music on my comp or ubermusic which have better sound quality
Guys I just tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523760
From what my ears tells me, there seems to be remarkable difference in sound indeed!
Credits to fuss132!!!
Don't know if this belongs in Development Section or already posted... apologies in advance...
Oh yeah, just flash this via CWM then its set...
And guys I am using a Beats Solo as my daily distraction (actually I use it as my work headset as well... makes me look cool than I really am lol) and I DEFINITELY noticed a change (sorry Nobnut)...
It gave a better bass response... not that it made the bass sound heavier but actually more crisp as opposed to being muddy... Before I hate the Beats Solo sound in "normal" settings but now its much better... My music files are all FLACs ranging from Pearl Jam to Rage Against the Machine....
giving it a try thanks
How is this enabled? Or once installed its already activated?
you're right it doesnt belong in the dev section
its probably the placebo effect

100% NOT placebo !
Everybody who listened to Beats Audio will tell you - Its more than just placebo, it really sounds WAY better.
Of Course just if you dont have 9$ Headphones.
In Ear Headphones sound great with Beats Audio
Test it with the MIUI 4.0 build
It does sound better !
Will be implemented in [V4a] next release !
Thanks for sharing @spandsbab
how is it activated on GB after flashing
...by playing some music.
beside the default music player, anyone try other player?
wow! i will give a try!
Maybe it really work, but the stock player couldn't support FLAC any more...
now who need beats headphone? lol... if feels like im having beats headphone rightnow.
+1
Thanks.... Works great on rocket Rom 1.5... Cheers... Envy

I dont see how this is working on your ICS roms as the original thread says it is not ICS compatible. You sure its not placebo?

Im not an audiophile ,
but..
I set my players to FLAT EQ - Guess is the only way to know !
I tested the before and after , I did hear an improvement mostly in bass
So from November 2012 when I got my phone I have tried any thing came to my mind to solve this problem but nothing worked for me!!!
I'm very sensitive about music quality and I really can't stand this anymore!!! My volume is very low even when I crank it to the max!!! I mostly use my Dr Dre Studio headphones and sometimes my Beats Tours... I've tried several other headphones and didn't get any result
When I connect my Studio headphones to my laptop and I listen to the same track that I have on my phone it's super load like if I turn up the volume to the max I really go deaf!!! So I'm pretty sure it's not from my headphones... I know that the phone's amplifier is not as powerful as my laptop but still ... I think it is not normal, I also notice some other people have the same problem as me!!!
So these are the things I have tried already:
1. Using other mp3 player apps such as PlayerPro, PowerAMP, Winamp and .... none of them made any difference and the equalizer simply just mess up the quality of the track...
2. I have used all the mods like Beats Xlouder and such and they also just lowered the quality
3. All of my tracks are MP3 320kbps/flac audio format... still I tried to increase the audio using Audacity by amplifying the dB... It helped but not really noticeable.
Currently I don't have root access but if something can really help I'd be willing to root my device... like kernel or something! Please help
You'll need an HTC phone with Beats Audio to go along with your Beats headphones.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic...
Well...
A ) There's something wrong with your ear.
or
B ) You have a defective unit. My headphones are waaaayyyy too loud even at half volume. If it's really that bad, ask for an exchange unit. If you're adventurous, root and custom rom it. Might see a change.

Please give me a link to the other threads about headphones being soft on the N4. I've never seen them and would love to read more about it.
I never said it's your heaphone. I said it's your phone.
Please read my whole answer.
Google Nexus 4 Volume low you can probably see people having the same problem I you think I'm lying
If you think you can help please give me a solution to my problem...
Imma be as descriptive as possible with my fix.
ROOT YOUR PHONE!
1. Install Trinity kernel. (Its the only kernel I've gotten this to work with)
2. Flash Misledz audio mod, keep up with the latest ones as in my opinion she really knows what she's doing and the quality gets better and better.
3. Once the mod is installed Titanium Backup / Rom Toolbox remove the 4 system apps installed by Misledz audio mod.
-Awesome beats, -Noozy Player, -Noozxoide, -Dolby Digital App.
4. Reboot wipe cache / dalvik in recovery, reboot.
5. Go to the market and download the latest Noozxoide, set up to your musical preference.
Now you can omit some parts such as keeping 3 of the apps, but I find awesome beats not to work at all, the libs in the mod does though. That's why I remove the apps. I listen to a lot of bass heavy music (rap / old school hip-hop). This method is a night and day difference in loudness and audio quality.
I genuinely hope this helps everyone.:good:
dude Awesome beats is the worst ... plus I'm not rooted any more
but I heard there is a kernel that increases the volume
Not awesome beats. Misleadz audio mod. Trinity kernel makes your audio louder naturally. With the audio mod trust me you'd give me an e-hug in gratitude (no homo). I had the same problem. This method I posted works.
I give it try thanks a lot

Worked finally thanks
try lower impedence headphones?
and/ or a small headphone amp, eg. the fiio?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/FiiO-E5-BK-E05-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B0026RJQJ6
- Sensitive to music quality.
- Uses Beats.
- Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

Haha told ya!
What type of earphones or headphones do you use anyway? I'm using the V-Moda LP2's and they sound fantastic. They do need an amp to get the total feel but with Poweramp's equalizer, I have been pretty impressed.
I've got my G2 for a few days now, on my previous phone, the One X, there was a mod I would flash that would add a equalizer menu to the music player.
It was great, you could choose from various presets or choose your own and one of them had insane bass that sounded amazing with DNB. Problem is I can't find any such thing, App or mod for my G2. The stock Music EQ just doesn't cut it and the equalizers I tried from the playstore don't even work for me :s

Going to try right away, thanks!
EDIT: Holy ****, this unreal, thanks a lot dude!
How hard will super quality eat my battery? It said something about drain.
It's all relative, but to me it's worth having better audio at the expense of a little extra battery usage. I'm coming from a galaxy nexus so anything over 2 hours (screen on) of battery life is gravy...
