Hi all,
We all know how shockingly bad some carriers are in Australia when it comes to data connections. My aim is to collect Speedtest results from many different carriers from many different places around Australia, average them out and if time permits display them in a few informative graphs for Australian users looking to purchase or change carriers.
My Optus S3 will be arriving sometime this week and I'll test it in Melbourne CBD and eastern suburbs but people are happy to beat me too it

I was in a restaurant tonight in Vienna, VA tonight and was messing around with a friends Droid and another friends iPhone 3GS. I thought I might as well do some 3 way speed tests for the hell of it.
This pic represents a decent average of what all 3 phones were getting. I did several tests and this is about what they all consistently got.
Also, when I was in a different location, I got 3261kbps down, 1306kbps up
Supposedly Vienna has HSPA+ live, but who knows.
I am running Froyo with the new radio, just so you know.

I have managed to get up to 11mb/s down and upper 4.
HSPA+ here is 14.4mbps with Vodafone Spain (I am in Valencia).
Very North Dallas. McKinney,TX
Here in Puerto Rico with At&t is always around the 2.5 to 3.2MB but sometime its around 6 or 7mb.
Which speed its better? I am looking to pick up a new i9500 but I want to know what carrier will be better with it. Either way I be only on hspa+, no lte. Which I don't care much for any ways. Let s chime up for the new i9500 owners. Let us know.

Anyone else? I am also interested in what speeds people are getting on At&t network with the i9500.
Mod Edit...IMEI Manipulation, to include faux IMEI's is not allowed here.
I did the BYOP thing at the store Wednesday. I gave them my girlfriends Nexus 5 IMEI that she uses on Sprint and my OPO picked up LTE right away! So glad you can use a company discount with BYOP, its so cheap and reception is so much better than TMO,
And just a speedtest for proof.

Sorry folks, this is still a misleading way of accomplishing business...OP, IMEI manipulation in many countries is not allowed regardless. It is best that owners of these devices contact their respective carriers and do things the legal and correct way,
We are not here to get XDA in trouble...thread closed and OP edited ...

Here is mine. If you have any suggestions to get a better result let me know!
Looks like I had something running during the before encryption bench.
It you want the Vallamo results let me Know.
Hmm,
It looks like the phone variant affects the benchmark results ?
When I did the test, I force closed all apps first.
Encryption and Knox where disabled.
My version is the Singapore / Malaysia variant.
Outside of installing my usual apps (Social network, Microsoft Office, Exchange email and Whatsapp...), I didn't do much tweaking.
