Can someone help me step by step how to get the media net att plan?

As this has to do with carrier issues and not the device itself, moved to Off-Topic.

Sorry

Dude, I think you just hit a speed bump.

You bumped a thread after 24 minutes. It was still on the first 10. Also, some people sleep you know.

There's already a thread on this in the Networking Forum.

Maybe someone might be able to help you here and please do not bump this thread or I will have to close it.

Are you trying to get an obsolete plan or get a data plan that's for dumbphones?
In either case, it's risky. Practically speaking, the former is impossible and the latter is dangerous as there's no guarantee you won't be caught when AT&T checks the IMEI.
If you want to save money, it's easier to just go prepaid on a MVNO that uses AT&T's network. Straighttalk is very popular (I don't use it but I've heard many success stories) for such cases - the only caveat is that "unlimited" data is not truly unlimited, as you're "warned" if you use "a lot" (there's no definite answer of what "a lot" is) of data. There's another thread in this forum about this plan if you want to do some more reading about it.

Flashing to Verizon..

Is it possible to flash the sprint nexus 4g to Verizon? If so, how?
Thanks
The short and simple answer is no. If you want the long detailed version look around xda as this gets asked a lot in other cdma phone sections...
Sent on the go from my android device using Tapatalk
Oh ok thanks. I figured it could be possible since the verizon iPhone was able to flash to sprint. I guess the nexus is different or something.
i would imagine using tools there available online you could in theory get it going on verizon and maybe even get 3g but 4g wouldnt work for sure

I have a verizon prl flashed. It allows my nexus to roam on the verizon network at all times. It increased my dl speeds from 300k to 2mb per second.
You still need sprint service though.

Could you post how you did that? I would like increased 3G speed and coverage. 4G is fine in coverage areas for me. 3.5-5 down avg

Nope..it's highly possible ..check YouTube and eBay. People even got step by step and so on. So I know it's possible.
I was hoping to do the same thing. Technically it seems like the Sprint ones should be possible.
I poked around the forums trying to find a general answer why this wasn't possible but didn't find any real concrete answer. Can anyone explain why it's not possible or point me to a post that does?
Thanks
Possible, yes. Legal? Not so much.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
The fact that its illegal is why your not going to find a how-to on xda.

Why would it be illegal?
Root your phone and then download roam control.

I dont think you understand what the OP is trying to do. He doesn't want to roam on Verizon, he wants to get a Verizon plan and activate his phone on Verizon. That requires falsifying your IMEI and no you cant do that with an app from the market.

The hardest part would be getting VZW to add the devices IMEI into their database, impossible, no, but very difficult.

***stand up to verizon killing unlimited data to all***

Alright guys if verizon is going to end unlimited data for all users even grandfathered in ones i say we dont go down without a fight!! Next month or every month for that matter lets try to get as many people as possible to use as much data as possible!! (that is unlimited of course) Lets eat up as much data as possible and make verizon think twice about messing with the worlds largest LTE network!! Lets tether, surf, stream and eat data away!! Anybody with me????

maybe they will change their minds if so many users start needlessly draining their LTE
How would using more data help? All it does is further justify their "alleged" claims that data congestion affects everyone. If you want to make a difference, leave Verizon. Pay the ETF and switch to pre-paid.

ETF will not apply. If they terminate your unlimited data during your contract, you'll have the option to leave without ETF which is exactly what I plan to do. Already looking elsewhere so I won't be without for long. I'm fixing to get on the prepaid gravy train....

How soon will it be before I can leave without ETF? I'm thinking of leaving them anyway.

I don't see anything wrong as long as you own the phone that you got the esn from. What's the law number regarding this, and what country.

I did some research. http://cdmagurus.com/forum-essentials/free-all/2466-esn-cloning-illegal-5.html
Around page 5 you get an answer.
You must be attempting to defraud or gain fraudulent service.
Buying prepaid time, and only using the phone you flash to would not be stealing or gaining fraudulent service.

Does AT&T have Nexus 4? Reason for asking is

I don't want the phone to be recognized by them as something they carry to avoid data plan. Not completely familiar with this phone (like the S2/i9100 etc.)
Thanks,
It will be. Its not an international phone that is only sold in other countries and shipped here. Its designed to work with all GSM US carriers.

Actually, my dad and I have been using the n4 with no data plan. Once I activated the phone I had my data blocked. Some people were saying that they got changed from the $15 unlimited dumb phone to the smartphone plan. However, I still had my data blocked since day one. You could even ask for it to be blocked before you can't your n4. You can block your data with no problem.

Be sure to hit thanks if I helped!
The N4 has already been flagged by AT&T as a smartphone and multiple people have posted. Figuring out whether a phone's dumb or smart is very easy for AT&T (or any other carrier) as the first eight characters of the IMEI identify the make and model (Type Allocation Code) of the phone.

Annoyed. Got the dreaded ATT text that I wasn't using the correct data plan for the nexus 4. Was using it on $10 non smart data plan.
AT&T Free Msg: Did you know a data plan is required for your Smartphone? We have added an appropriate data plan. Learn more at www.att.com/dataplans.
Online management shows phone as being unrecognized but they apparently know the phone is a smartphone.
Even the email I got from ATT says
"For whatever reason, our records indicate your Smartphone does not have an eligible data plan. We have added an appropriate Smartphone data plan for your device"
So unlike the Galaxy nexus, ATT does force the $30 data plan. I guess the LG Optimus G is so similar to the Nexus 4 ATT can see it as a smartphone.
It's weird cause the international Galaxy S3 was never recognized on my account when I had it on the $10 data plan.

Mk2, stock. It's under settings/connections/data usage. What's 4G? Hahaha! Or this lte?? Sounds made up ? it was 3g tethering. I just tether my laptop and watch Netflix and do a lil bill paying and such. Maybe with MK2 and the knox plague sprint has a lil spy ware in there? They've never messed with me before and I've had 11gb+ of data usage before..

Well, you got caught! You were shoplifting from Sprint and they caught you. Either stop stealing or get cut off. It amazes me sometimes that people are surprised when they get caught. 8GB+ a month on 3G, its obvious that you are tethering. Do I tether, hell yes! But if Sprint caught me, I would stop tethering or pay for the service. With their new lifetime data plans they include 5gb of tethering in one of their plans for cheaper than any other provider. They caught you because of the desktop Netflix sever you were connected to opposed to the mobile Netflix server.
It's kind of funny how xda comes down hard on people that post links to warez or movie/music bootleg sites but they turn a blind eye to stealing from Sprint with hacked tethering. Anyway, good luck with Sprint and keeping your account.

Thanks, although I am pretty aware I was caught. I have used mass amounts of data before without tethering. Keeping Sprint won't be a problem as I haven't been tethering. I am not surprised at getting caught, it isn't like I'm crying about the audacity of this company telling me how I can/can't use my unlimited data. I was only asking if anyone knew if a 3rd party app shows the usage as data or tethering still. I will look into this plan you mentioned though.
