Transferring SMS/MMS from Epic 4G to S III - Galaxy S III General (US Carriers)

I have the Epic 4G, and I am *PATIENTLY* waiting for my 32GB S III to ship from Sprint. I would like to transfer over my SMS/MMS - I've used SMS Backup & Restore but I've had importing issues with it and it does not account for MMS.
I've also heard of Mighty Text, which syncs up to 6 months of SMS/MMS, but I am not sure if you can transfer what you've synced online to another phone.
I've used Titanium as well, but again, I thought there would be issues going from one device to another.
What do you guys suggest? Thanks for any help.

I would use go sms and backup the sms messages, it alsp has an option to backup mms.

Go back up should restore them as well

I have seen that, and others, in the Market.
Because there are many to choose from, I guess what I should have asked is if anyone has used and likes any one in particular.
sms backup by michele valentini works great.
I was curious about this too so I tried out SMS backup & restore by Ritesh Sahu just now.
I was able to make a complete copy of all of my messages (about 200 texts) in a xml file stored on my SD card. I then deleted the messages off of my phone and tried restoring using the backup. Everything seems to be back in the original place.
One thing that was nice was the ability to view the texts from the backup without having to restore them. This might be useful to have a copy of the text somewhere but not on the phone itself.
I haven't extensively used the app but first go through is positive, and there are many thousands of ratings on the marketplace for the app.

you can also try my backup pro, it's a paid app but you can backup your MMS and SMS to your sd card or online. You can also backup your call history/call log, your calendar, alarms and apps....

Good sms backup app

I've been using my backup root but it messes up sometimes with my messeges. It also takes forever. I do have about 10000 sms so does anyone know app that restores the sms quicker right now it takes about 20 minutes just to restore them..

I've been using SMS Backup by AnSoft, it took about 20 seconds to restore approximately 1500 text messages, it also makes a backup of your call history too.
have you tried titanium backup? i use it for everything, including SMS messages. once you restore, reboot and bam, it's all there. has never taken me 20 min to restore my whole backup (apps, settings, messages, etc).
I use and include in my ROM SMS Backup+ by Jan Berkel. It backs up SMS messages and call logs to your gmail account at user set intervals. I have mine set to 1 minute after the SMS is received. It nice because you never have to remember to back up your messages. I believe it will restore MMS messages as well. I have titanium backup but I believe this is a much better solution because it is automatic and performs the update soon after the message is received. I don't have to think about going and backing them up everytime one is received like you would with titanium.

Does titanium backup the mms that are in the text message? The backup software i'm using now does not.
I use SMS Backup and Restore. Great app, backups and restores fast but also saves all your texts as an .xml file which you can just go into the app and view it (say, for example, that you were looking for a certain text from a while back) without restoring it.

Not trying to flame anyone here, but why the hell would you need to backup 10000 text messages? Honestly, I don't see why anyone would need to back them up at all. The way I see it, they are old messages and I dont need them. I clear mine out almost every day.

Titanium backup is the choice for me. The only downfall I found is when I backup my system that is running a 4x5 Roise workplace to a 4x4 Rosie workplace. My apps still show up but in area where I can not reach them. Once I install a new 4x5 I am good to go!

I've used titanium backup since day one. It has never let me down. Just make sure you back up your messages before futzing with your phone.
I still can't figure out how to backup text in titanium?

I use Handcent for my messaging program. I paid the small fee for the annual premium service and my settings, SMS, and MMS all get backed up whenever I want to their online servers. I am constantly flashing different ROMS and trying new things with my EVO and have never had a problem restoring my info. You can even backup custom theming you do to your program and backup individual messages to a special "box" for quick retrieval. It's only $9.99 for a whole year.
And no, I don't work for Handcent just been a very happy customer for quite some time!

How to back up all text messages?

Is it possible I dont want to loose my txt messages if I try and flash or update.
I use a app called back up to Gmail. Works great. Check it out and you will not have to worry about your text messages after a flash.
SMS Backup +
It's in the market, best app ever for this purpose.
Titanium Backup can handle this, as well as pretty much any backup situation you can think of.

[sms/mms/apn] Dialer Storage 2.2
Download from market. Run BATCH, to back up all apps. If you want data as well such as sms, select back up data as well. After you flash, redownload Titanium if necessary, select Batch & restore data & or apps.

I like mybackup root just do backup data then choose sms
The pro with SMS Backup + is that it creates a folder within gmail like your inbox for only your text messages... you do not need to backup, it just does it for you in the background... also nice because you can search all your messages a lot easier from the browser.
The other methods work, just not nearly as well in my opinion.
It's been a long time since I used SMS Backup +. It didn't have the ability to save MMS back when I used it. Good stuff.

While I am sure there is a way, you will not find any help here on it. A persons privacy is something we strongly support.

text message backup?

Is there a way to restore and backup my text messages? I have an Evo 4g LTE and there is an option in the menu to backup and restore sms. I want to be able to do that on my G2. Is there a built in application for this?
Sms backup will do text. Paid version of titanium requires root and does MMS as well
I'm sure they'll be other replies soon.

Whenever I switch phones, which I do more than I'd let my wife know, I always use Helium. If you're rooted it works without plugging into a computer, otherwise you have to plug it in for a second but you back up all your texts, all data (Like candy crush!) and upload it onto Dropbox or Google Drive or whatever. Then download Helium on your new phone, quickly activate over USB and click restore. Presto. Works like a charm and very easy to use.

I use "SMS backup and restore" and it works great.
You can back it up to your choice of storage location and even email them to yourself via the app.
Very handy and very free!
