[Q] U8180 Rom for New Zealand?

Okay, so I bought the Huawei X1 phone, which is a great little phone.
But, it wasn't long before I started to tinker with it, and in the process I lost the stock Telecom rom and ended up having to flash with an Aussie version.
The problem I'm having though, is that nearly all roms I've found so far will not register properly on the network, and as far as I found out, it's because these all came from 900mhz providers and not the 850mhz like XT.
So heres what I would like somone to do f they are keen enough...
Use SuperOneClick to root their phone.
Install RootToolBox.
Flash with recovery-RA-u8160-v2.3 (you may need a file manager like ES file manager)
Power off then on holding both power button and volume up until recovery menu comes up.
Perform a nand backup of boot, system, and data and then...
Please please please upload the files somewhere for me!

I've tried getting it from wiki.modaco.com Huawei_Firmware_U8180
But none of the links work, or I can't figure out how to get them working.

You've got the wrong forum mate...This forum section is for U8800 - X5 and what you've got is Huawei Ideos X1 - U8180.

Not really mate, those roms are the reason my phone is now stuck on the 900mhz version baseband and not the 850mhz version like I need for telecom.
I'm desperate for the NZ telecom version!

Ups, sorry mate, wasn't aware that NZ is 850mhz.

Can you not change the baseband in *#*#4636#*#* menu?

You are confused, the baseband has nothing to do with the 3G frequency, you cannot change a frequency because it is in the hardware not software.
My question is: did it worked before the update? (im assuming that you are talking about 3G frequency bands)

Yes it did work before the update.
And no I don't see an option to change anything in the menu.
How would I go about repairing this?

I tried that yesterday.
Got some angry little asian man who wanted to know how I flashed the phone and was no help at all
Noticed before that the phone model isn't actually U8180, but rather U8180-7...
I'm guessing there may be a hardware change for NZ?
Can anybody point me to more info on basebands and whatnot?
I don't really understand it all, I was under the impression that baseband=operating frequencies?

Why don't you take it back to Telecom shop and see if they can flash it back? I doubt you'll have much luck on this forum as it's for a totally different phone that runs on only 2D and Vodafone in NZ

you'd be fine if the Huawei links weren't broken, all the links I've tried for multiple models are broken. Keep an eye on them they might come right soon.

Flashed it with U8150 firmware for a laugh, going back to shop today :S

Will you return the favor ? I need to purchase a couple of these phones in NZ and have them shipped out to me. But haven't found a way to do that yet.. nobody seems to want to ship overseas or even have DHL pick on my expense from their shop..

[Q] HTC HD2 O2 Official latest ROM

Hey,
Hopefully this can be sorted quickly and pain free. The HTC UK site seems to have taken down it's Support pages? Please check and tell me if i'm loosing my marbles? lol
But anyway, regardless of this, I need the latest O2 Stock ROM, which since they seem to have taken this off the HTC website, I need a link to download outside of them...
Anyone able to help me out?

if i was to flash to one of those, will i get mango applied with it or is that a separate procedure i have to do? i am so confused

flash with the one you feel more comfortable with, go for an open rom, it will work with any operator in any country of this world.

hey thanks for geting back to me, just the second question still lingers, does this upgrade my phone to mango as well or is this just a 'bios' upgrade?
if i was to use the australian optus firmware, will the phone become locked to that carrier?
i know these are basic questions, but i thought i would check before i flash cos i dont want to brick anything

If i want to go back to stock and install 4.3 from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252982 what relevance does the country make.
The latest one at present says its german and i want to use it for a uk phone, will this make any difference at all, and if it doesnt why does it specify the country?

I've used Australia firmware and tried using it in NZ, Data roaming did not work I think I had other comp ability issues as well but this was on a S2. If you change firmware to a different country it may void warranty but I'm not 100% sure on this because its still stock... Personally I wouldn't go back to 4.3 have you seen all the issues on this forums? lol

it has been said in some topics, that the best modem to be used in EU was the Aussie one. The user reporting it was from Germany.
I still haven't had the chance to install the AUS modem instead of VZW one.

Aussie is the Best one for reception so far including 3G and H+ In Munich area.
Using O2 and Tmobile. Unclear on other Carriers.
Though I have not found an easy way to get it into the new OTA JB.
We been using it with the Stock Old Non OTA JB Rom.
