CHainfire 3D CONFIRMED WORKING - Galaxy S III General (US Carriers)

For anybody skeptical or weary of installing the chainfire 3d gpu driver including the EGL driver works fine on this phone.

Noob question, but what games actually use that?

Any nvidia tegra games their is even a method for tegra 3 that is semi working i havnt had a chance to try it out yet uhm adreno games like desert winds and alotof gameloft games were you might have to emulate the power vr gpu bcause if im not mistaken they were built on that and then ported to others.

Nvidia Tegra Zone - Playstation

has anyone notice the new news update in the tegra zone on March 9? Playstation basically mention they'll be working on a new app called "Playstation Suite" to tegra 2 devices? i couldn't copy and paste the article from the app, but here is what it basically said:
http://www.phonearena.com/news/PlayStation-Suite-to-bring-the-PS-magic-to-your-Android-phone_id16261
wouldn't it be cool to play old classics from ps1. they also mention that they'll port over some ps2 games too. there're a couple of ps1 and ps2 games that i wouldn't mind paying $10-15. hopefully they'll be around or bellow the $4.99 sweet spot
That's great, you should just get fpse and be done with it....

yah i know, but not all the roms work and some have bugs. which annoy me when i really get into a game.
ill be using FPSE until this comes out, but im excited about this
with this combined with emulators - I actually think that the android platforms has a comparable number of games to the apple app store.

Graphics app?

I was wondering if there is an app/game to show off the high end graphics in my evo?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Need for speed shift and reckless racing are two good ones to for showing off.
A good free one is called cordy, super smooth and flashy graphics.
All right, ill try them. Thanks.

Btw the evo's graphics chip isn't really high end....

But it works though and I haven't noticed any inability to play the "high end" games without any problems.

On Sense roms it was unplayable. On Cmod 7, it's not unplayable for me, but it's not smooth either. But this is a good example.

Anyone tried this awesome game on the p1000 yet? If so, is it working?
I see some success with some unsupported phones.

Might be good news:
I found out through LogCat that the problem might lie within the PowerVR SGX540. Which is in fact the same GPU as the Galaxy Nexus, in which Rockstar states will fix soon. So yeah, it should work, just wait a bit for an update.
Yes that is good news

Same deal with the Droid Charge (which has the same CPU & GPU) even with Chainfire the display is still black. If it's really a GPU hardware issue we may be able to get it working after they update it.

Works on my DS, not tested on the tab yet, but ill assume it will work, as they both have similar specs

No. The Desire S has the Adreno 205 GPU, the Tab's is PowerVR SGX540.
I can confirm, new version 1.1 is now working on our tab (p1000) It's not the smoothest of graphics, but we have it now!

Yeah I know that, I meant similar, as they are both single core, and this game was primarily designed for dual core.
Which GPU is better? I guess PowerVR is..
Adreno isn't the best at games.
How is it for everyone? Any major lags?
Lags a bit on my Desire s, will try on my Tab later!

It's just about playable. But on my setup(stock) I have moments of major lag and the music lags too. Maybe it will improve with updates, but I'm still happy to be playing it.

Doesn't work on my galaxy tab 7...
Game intro works, then reboots the tablet.
I definitely would love a fix, I got rid of my xbox game years ago!

V1.1 is "working" on SGT7.
I had to get it illegaly even if I own it on my Galaxy S II, I was unable to find it on the market from my SGT7.
I have test version 1.1 on My tab running ICS Alpha 3..and its work...^_^
Here the screenshot :
sweet!
Looks nice on ICS
Where do you get 1.1?
I got 1.0 via 4shared - I'm not unwilling, but hesitant rather, to spend $5 on an app that's currently known to be not working, and version unknown for the one on the market (if it appears for the Sprint 7 tab).
Very willing if it works, that's a cheap price for a big game. Anywhere to "try before I buy?" Usually that's an option with most games, sample or ad-supported version, etc.
thanks-
EDIT: Note I'm not running ICS, I'm not rooted, although that is in the cards at some not-far-future point. I just got this tab yesterday. Is your build a requirement? Looking to try this out on the stock Gingerbread - if it works, I'm glad to buy it for the cost of a Subway footlong.
It does work, many have confirmed it working. Just a bit laggy. So hopefully you can spare $5 to support development

What happened to Skies Of Glory?

Just wondering if there were any other SOG fans in here. It used to be such a great game. I just recently downloaded it again on Google play and now it doesn't work and the reloaded version doesn't work. Kinda sucks as it was as a great detailed WWII flight combat game. I tried some of the others and they just weren't the same. I'm not really into WWI games as much. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions as to a good replacement or how they stop that game free music FC on devices? Thanks!

I played SoG from the beginning of its release. As far as the Nexus 7 goes, it has never worked on it. The reason is that it is not compatible with the tegra 3, which is what we have for a graphics chip. It would require a major overhaul, and that will never happen. And as far as I can tell, it wont run on any android running 4.1.x or higher. Yes, it is a great game. But, it was released in December of 2009, and never got a good update to keep up with androids advancing versions.

Well thanks for the info. I thought I read somewhere about the Android 4.1.X or higher thing.. That's a shame. Have you found anything that satisfied that genre for you? I just haven't found it yet. Sky Gamblers is very similar but it's all WWI and that kinda limits the awesomeness.. Lol

No, I have found nothing of that genre to replace it for me. I didnt really like RoG either. D-pad games annoy me on devices with a full gyroscope. SoG was a perfect platform for control. Gyro and rudders.

I don't remember. I had installed on my GS2 back in the day and just recently thought "Hey that would be fun to play again" lol. These jet games suck too by the way.. Lol. Gosh makes me sad. I guess I could play the WWI games. The sad thing is that there are games out there that seem fun just mostly multi player online. I like the campaign modes. I used to have this one simulator back on pc that had this AWESOME mission were you had to protect a bunch of B-52's from the dang Germans.. Lol it was fun about 30,000 feet up planes everywhere bombs falling... Lol. Loved it.

Question related to games

I wanted to ask that y does our nexus 4 not have most nice games?
I saw brothers in arms 2, was not supported
Asphalt 6, not supported
Saw many more games (mostly 3d) and none were supported
Common games like asphalt 7/8 and gta were supported
Moreover, game developers have started tegra exclusive games that really makes me feel bad
Google advertised this phone as built for gaming, and we all know that our phone can easily handle tegra3 , then why can't we play those games?
Since this phone is a Google phone, I demand gaming support, at least for nexus devices
Can anyone tell me one some reasons good enough about this all??
Are there any adreno specific games??
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Well basically it's up to the game developers, which devices they say are compatible.
If they say it's not compatible with our nexus 4 then we don't get the choice to install it. simple as that. Google doesn't get a say in that matter.
Don't go throwing demands about because it just makes you look like a spoilt kid.
There are many different variants of system on chip designs used in the various phones and tablets that android runs on.
Now it's impossible to expect developers to release an optimized version of every game they release, to cater to every different variant of soc out there.
Nvidia been a big name in the graphics industry setup and made agreements with developers to make optimized versions of their games with better effects (known as THD).
Now if you want somewhere to complain. I suggest you either go straight to the developers ask why they aren't supporting this device. Our go to Qualcomm and ask why they aren't pushing for optimized games on their platform.
Complaining here will result in nothing but people flaming you.

It's the games' developers' the game that make those calls, not Google, and definitely not you.
Anyway, good luck with your, ehm... demanding.

Kainy doesn't emulate anything, it's a remote desktop solution that's optimized for gaming. You connect to your computer and control it remotely while it runs the game.
