Whenever I send a message and get the delivery report, my phone becomes very very sloooooow for about 10-15 seconds.. and by very slow I mean unusable.
Why is that? Anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

I found that it starts working again if I empty the RAM from the Task Manager

Hi there, due to the fact that the search option doesn't work with less then 4 characters, i can't search for "sms".
But here's my real problem:
I've flashed different roms into my mda vario, after unlocking it. First the Molski.biz rom, then the last original t-mobile rom, but it was toooo slow, i've imediatly deleted it, en flashed the mr clean rom.
But in all roms i have some delay in recieving sms-messages.
Half the time they appear directly after they were sent by my friends, but sometimes i get them after a few hours. for example: it was sent at 15:00, and i received it at 17:30.
And sometimes i don't get any sms-messages, and after an soft-reset, i get 10 at one time, all delayed.
does anyone know what to do about it? or what causes it?

i sometimes get this too though not often its usually when my phone loses signal and when it comes back into signal it wont recevie txt messages until i soft reset or send another txt out then ill get like 4 all at once lol.
Wizard isnt the best phone for txtin i must say as i send a good 1,000 txts a month and so far its poor.
Sounds like a network issue to me...
The network isn't registering the phone or something similar. For SMS the towers "push" the messages to the phone. Queuing them when they don't detect the phone on the network. If the phone is on the network and not getting the messages until it is reset and forced to re-acquire its signal than it is a network problem.
I've seen this problem on a few networks regardless of phone make and model.
I would agree with the above, its a provider issue not a phone issue.
I have a debate with Orange about 10 years ago about not getting text messeges when I loose and then regain service. I was told that when a text is sent to a phone that is off or lost a signal the message is stored until a set time has passed and then delivery is retried, thus getting all the messages at once. The way 'around' this is the disconnect the phone from the network and re-connect. This forces a scan of the message queues and again you will get all messages in one go.
I would assume going in to Flight Mode and back will do the same thing as a soft boot, but I have not tested this.

so i could suggest it's not quitte an rom- or wizzard-issue, but a network-issue.
I also think going to flightmode and back will solve the problem. So we will hear from you if that's a solution?
I'm busy reflashing a new rom into my wizzard.

I would hope that as you seeing the problem that you could test this. I get all my texts on time (luckely) so I can't help you I am afraid, I can just share my thoughts.

This is happening to me all of a sudden and its not a network issue. I have 4 phones on my account and i texted between all of them and only my phone won't get the messages UNLESS I reboot my phone or use smartskey to close a window.
Here is the strange part, when a text message is sent to my phone, the screen turns on, but doesn't show the message pop.
Is smartskey blocking it?
Also, closing a window by clicking on the X also kicks the message to come through
Everytime i use windows live messenger if its inactive for like 20 seconds it just drops out and it keeps showing that i sign in and sign out the entire time on other computers and its getting really annoying.
Is there anyway to fix this issue or has anyone had the same problem?
Same problem here... and no, haven't found a fix for this.
Also, sometimes when it drops the connection also drops the phone so people that call you will get voicemail even when you see everything OK on screen.
Then, when you try to make a call it freezes.
Anoying.
So my main problems which are making me think i might try to return phone are
GPS:
with stock settings sometimes just doesnt try to get a signal - needs restart to fix
with gps fix mode set to cold alsways tries to get a fix usually initial fix very fast but at somepoint will lose fix and not be able to get it again
Data:
Sometimes (usually after using wifi) the phone will not attempt to get a data connection (no data symbol E, H etc) again usually needs a restart to fix
Texts:
Only happened once but for a whole day i wasn't receiving any text messages but could send them out. Not sure what fixed it but put sim in another phone which made them come through.
random stalls: This is quite infrequent but still a little annoying (better than my previouse wm phones though)
do any of the newer fw fix the above issues? is it worth me installing one of them? Which would you suggest?
or is it best I try to return phone and wait and see if there will be a fix then buy again? Could I even do this phone is about 3 weeks old.

this same thing happened to my SGS and than 2 days later my to my gf's SGS.
i could send but not receive same with her phone.. she was sending but not receiving.
the other thing i notice to that is:
i could receive txt from other providers telstra vodafone, but could not recieve txt from optus and i am with optus (australia).
This kind of phone is never problem-free, don't count on the fw fixing every single problem.

how about the gps does that seem fixed (i.e. performs the same as any other phone/gps unit) no random drops and failure to reconnect etc?
I can deal with the odd slowdown and crashes as long as they are infrequent and don't cause much hassle but to have totally unreliable gps and data connection isn't really good enough and id prefer to wait for a device without these flaws.
Would anyone say that with more recent fw the gps seems reliable?
None of the new FW's fix the GPS issues, Samsung havent released the fix for that yet, but several reports suggest it is coming.
I don't have any issues with the data connection. The GPS is just rubbish..

Im currently having a lot of problems with SMS messares on my HD2, with messages not sending. Energy ROM has the old Windows message application, and on probably every 3rd message or so i get a message back saying 'Message was not sent. Try Again?'.
Clicking on that sometimes works, sometimes doesnt, though usually it gets sent by the 4th go every time.
The main problem though is that the little box that pops up to say it hasnt sent (as opposed to the little message above that appears below the SMS) sometimes doesnt appear until the next time i turn on the phone, which may be a while later (usually when im wondering where the reply is!).
Is anyone else having a similar issue? Crucially, is anyone on the same radio/rom package and having the same issue? Any suggestions on how to improve it.
The old Sense UI Message app used to retry in the background until it sent which was helpful but that has its own problems, such as getting bogged down trying to load all the messages everytime i open the window and thus making it unusable for 10 minutes.
I looked everywhere for this problem didn't find a topic so here it goes.
I LOVE this phone however I'm having a problem; text input disappearing or not showing up at all when trying to enter information. When this happens calls don't go out and I can't do anything network related. I've tried to type things into to other places as well to no avail. The only hope is resetting it everytime, and it can remain working correctly for 5 min or 5 hours, until it freezes again. I'm stock with the latest update, also running widgetlocker and launcher pro with various other minor apps. Anyone else have this issue or know of a fix? thanks

I second you. I have the problem as well when text disappears suddenly as im inputting, and I can't see what I type, until I click send. This happens especially while I am on the Skype app. The only way to get it to work is to leave the conversation and step back into it.

All over. Can't send a text or call out. Other programs work just fine, but anything that needs inputted text doesn't work
