So before I gave u8800 to my dad I had installed Aurora ICS succesfully and used it for a while but then I bought Optimus 2x and putted u8800 back to stock.
What I did was:
Try to nandroid restore stock 2.2 ( I didnt know that you can't do that with a another CWM than with what the backup was made with)
Because of that the phone got "bricked" and stayed at Huawei logo and just rebooted again and again.
Then I installed official 2.2 succesfully and then my Dad had it for a while and complained about bad battery and connection and lag, so I updated 2.3 and he still says it has that problem although the lag was gone
(I have never used official 2.3 myself)
So now I thought that I could install my first CWM (genokolar) back and restore my 2.2 backup (cause I don't remember it was that laggy) or completely install Aurora ICS again.
But what I want to ask you is that what is a good daily use Rom and how about the Basebands and Rils, any recommends...
Thanks in advance...

if u are in stock 2.2 and its for your dad i recomend the use of cm7 ezets or oxygen, both very stable if we likes a good looking phone u might try miui 32... its very nice and all with good battery performance...
Thanks!
Yes I also thought of oxygen.
Guess I just have test it out

Are there any English speakers here who have rooted their SoftBank 001HT (Desire HD) in Japan?
Yes sir! Have had mine rooted and running custom kernel for a few weeks...but a heads up... as far as flashing custom roms I have flashed 5 separate ones and can never get more than 4 hours of battery life from them but when I flash back to stock rom and custom kernel it lasts for days!

Glad its not just me then, was thinking there was something wrong with my phone due to the horrible battery life. Haven`t had any luck with getting decent battery life out of any rom/radio combo I have tried so far. What kernel are you using?
I'm using leedroid's latest and the radio from the newer Chinese rom....my reception improved a lot! I'm on Okinawa so don't get the best of reception to begin with....hopefully a chef will see these posts and make us softbank Japan people a custom rom based on our devices.

I tried CM7 the last couple of days (which is very nice) and I didn't have any battery drain issues. That was my first Android Custom rom here in Japan on the Desire HD. I'm now playing with RCMix HD (also very nice) and I'll see how the battery lasts on that. I've not changed or installed any radios at this point. Are you sure you are using the correct APN etc?
(It can cost you a lot of money if you are not and your data bill is charged differently.)
On a second note: I really love this Touch Input keyboard in RCMix HD, and I'm not sure if the audio was better in CM7. If you try them out - please give me your opinions.

please i have a drain battery problem with softbank 001HT after unlocksim.
please tell me rom version and radio version you used , please if u can give me a link for both of them i will be very happy.
thanks
I live in Ibaraki-ken. I have rooted and flashed mine with Spike CM7. I like the features in it and everything, but I too am having some battery drain issues. I'd say I'm getting about 7 hours out of it, and that is when it is mostly on standby. I'm trying to figure out ways to improve the battery life. On the stock rom though I think I was only getting about 10 hours. I was still charging it twice per day usually.
I have rooted my phone, but can not upload 2.3.3 now. I need to go back to the stock ROM but can not find it. Does any one have this?
There is a possible solution to all the battery problems. Charge the phone to 100%, boot into clockworkmod recovery, select advanced and then select "wipe battery stats".

Hello everybody...
When i got the pjone i updated to the latest official update (28.12.11), I was having some problems so i downgraded using this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420728, and than i found out about oxygen rom, and wanted to flash it.
Downloaded the lates version for huawei ideos x5 (2.3.2), wiped cache and flashed it using CWM, but got stuck on the Oxygen logo. I installed 2.2.2 again and than i read here that wiping everything should solve the problem, so i tried again, but this time wiped everything before flashing but this time it didnt even get to the oxygen logo?
Does anyone knows what might be the problem?
Go to official 2.2. Then install oxygen.

Which recovery are you using? You must use genos 4.0.05 or stockwells 5.0.2.6.
5.0.2.7 from geno and 5.5.0.4 from Blefish wont work with 2.2 because they are made for 2.3
i was using blefish 5.5.0.4, noob mistake i guess. i will try with new recovery.
Use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130524 or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288223&highlight=5+0+2+6 both should work fine
Do you really offer using this oxygen rom to a miui rom user? Are there too many advantages at this rom?
Yann, it worked lile a charm, thank you very much. The rom is running smoothly.
I never used any other custom rom, but comared to the official roms this one is a lot smoother and less buggy.
Im new here, should i close the thread?

only one more question... when i go to systems it says i only have 300 something of ram, shouldnt it be 512?
I think it depends how many apps you have installed in phone memory, move some apps to SD and check if get more ram free.
I think that some RAM is reserved for system and GPU. This is why it only showes 300MB
Hello
I just wanted to say I bought this device two days ago and I am so very happy with it.
I had a Xperia Pro and a Galaxy S but decided to go "big"
And I am glad I did.
The only small downside is that it seems to be so hard to root this one. I have not found any easy way as with for example Xperia Pro.
I am very pleased with the stock rom but I really need to get those bloatware out...but I dont want to flash a rom just to get root.
Well anyway, happy for bying this and I hope it continues to be as fast and nice.
So to others thinking of buying, just do it.....
Welcome to d club!!
Enjoy!!

hey flash speedmod kernel via pc odin and you will have a root access and a yellow triangle, wich can be removed via remove yellow traingle if you are on ics.
ps I recomment kingdroid 4.3 rom and speedmod kernel.
after you got clockworkmod recovery flash abyss 4.2 reboot recovery run jbdroid script flash kingdroid 4.3 rom with cf root kernel after aht flash speedmod k3-7
if you have any question use the search!!!!!!!!!
If u r on ICS, DO NOT DO A FACTORY RESET/WIPE. Note ICS kernwl has a brick bug.
Speedmod kernels and a few other custom kernels have a work around to the bruck bug.
afaik :cyclops:
keep device on gb
ics is risky if you don't want to brick your note than keep it on gb
or follow safe method as prescribed by many dev and user and upgrade it to ics
i have purchased mine yesterday and i will keep it on gb till emmc-bug solution come out :fingers-crossed:
You can root ur Note using the guide here by Dr Ketan @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
As long as you do not perform a factory wipe/reset, ICS is quite good.
I myself have fallen victim to the eMMC brick bug. I got it repaired under warranty. Rooted as per Doc K's guide and flashed SpeedMod kernel. I am on it since about a month now. Running smooth.
Remember always... any time you want to wipe, flash a stock GB rom, perform a wipe and ttgen upgrade to ICS. That is 100% safe. DIRECT WIPE FROM ICS IS 100% DANGEROUS.
Thank you all for so good advices. I am on GB and plan to stay there until a safe version comes from Samsung or any of all excellent developers here.
Oh I am used to search no worries.
Probably I will end up with flashing rom soon. But I feel this phone is magic.
Besides the browser everything is perfect!!

Flash stunner with thor kernel. It's aokp based. No bloatware, no bull****.
Fully costumizable.
You will love it.
It also has tablet mode.
Little getting used to but with this big screen a must have.
Hardbrick issue is gone with this rom.
Good luck

Welcome! I recommend ParanoidAndroid, the hybrid phone/tablet mode is really something. If you dont care for the samsung apps go ahead and flash a custom rom, just make a backup of your original incase you ever need to return your phone

Hey,
I posted a new thread here, because I have some very unfriendly issue in my Huawei Ideos X5 U8800 Pro.
So, my phone reboots about 10 times on day. Problem is not the ROM. If I restore to stock ICS 4.0.3, my phone reboot when I use and when I dont use it. With stock rom, it reboots about 25 times on day. Not so good.
I get my U8800 Pro about year ago. Shop was Expert in Finland. They sayed they dont have new phone, only one used. So, I buyed it. Before I get this phone to Expert back, I want to know, do anyone else have the same problems? Problem is not overclocking, because when I get it, it isnt stable. I know, before I get it back to Expert, I have to restore Stock ICS and recovery.
So please answer this question, everybody!
P.S When I sayed Hernas Cm 10.1[Stable] is stable, I meaned Its stabler than stock ICS 4.0.3

Sounds like a hardware issue. Better get it to the store which you bought it from to fix it for you. Remember to go back to stock ICS before getting there!

I think maybe is not hardware problem. I recommend you to come back to GB installing the setp 2 folder and it will fix your problem. When you tried to install my ROM you didn't install it good, maybe you forgot some steps on the flashing, like format system or some wipe. I also would love you to say me what recovery you use. Is not neccesary to sent to Service Center, just flash again the GB ROM in the good way with the dload folders, not flashing a GB ROM and it will fix your problem, you will see
Hi,
My mother's p700 has been running really slow lately so I thought about installing a fresh ROM, any suggestions on something lightweight and stable? Not much in terms of requirements, she really only uses it for calls/music. So as long as I don't have to babysit updates every day, anything will do.
I used to have my l7 since 1 week ago when i got new phone. Changed lots of ROM's and i didnt found the perfect one. This device was just laggy and slow with every single ROM out there. So i suggest you to flash KDZ Unlocked and Rooted ROM 4.1.2, it worked perfect for me (and still works for my brother) , nearly without lagg if you are using it only as a daily "driver"...
