Looks like my unlocked GS3 downloaded new FW overnight, installing it now.
Anyone know what it fixes?
I hope it's the audio quality of video recordings.
I'm in CA on AT&T
They wouldn't say. It just says improved stability.
What firmware are you on now ?
If I have assisted you, please press Thanks button.
I got an update as well and I'm on I9300UBLF2 (Not sure what region that is, it's an imported phone)

I know its not the latest, but I wanted to keep it stock for as long as possible. I got addicted to flashing roms on my previous Nexus S, trying to cut back.

This month?
I heard by the end of the month but don't get your hopes up to high. Were talking about Bell here.
Just go custom rom. I've been running gingerbread on bell for the past two months.
I kind of don't want to send my phone 3rd time for a repair... I've heard that a 'Bell-friendly' bootloader prevents the sd from corrupting. That's why I stick to kc1...

Although that's been widely speculated, I don't think there's any proof of that.
More likely the failures were due to bad hardware manufactured before December 2010. But no one knows for sure.
No problem with the Gingerbread bootloader for me after a month.

I have a Bell Vibrant I got on release day in August. Manufacture date is 07/10 and I have flashed it numerous times with very few issues. I have Darky 10.1 right now and all is well. Just luck of the draw I guess.

I had a few of them die on me, it was the original secondary boot loader that was causing the issue. I've had no problems since then. I'm running Darky's 10.1 on my phone the last week and it's been pretty good. There are a few very minor bugs compared to 9.5 but generally it's very smooth.
Oh and BTW, I've flashed at least 5 bell phones with darky's 9.x and had them running for months without dying.
Ok, last question - does superoneclick root jvo? Root is a must for me, but I don't wanna flash rooted kernel (I've got trust issues, I know )...

No ****, got mine at Best Buy too. Maybe they got all the non defective ones. I used the $75 gift card for a 16GB micro sd.
To be fair though, I didn't flash mine until after bootloader update, all the corrupt sd's I read about on here scared the piss out of me.

I am running JVO now with Chainfire's CF Root but checked last night using my fiance's phone and noticed that there was a Kies update dated 28-05-2011; so, keep your fingers crossed that a new firmware version will be release really soon!
if that is Ginger for you guys can you post the modem file?
Sorry for the confusion but it was only Kies that got the update; so, no Gingerbread for I9000M as yet...
Ok I am gonna state this once and only once. I have cleaned up the thread and will be looking into past posts as well. This type of talk will not be tolerated on XDA. If you feel the need to insult each other and Calling people names, well maybe you should find somewhere else to do it. I am gonna give a warning here as normally I would just you on a vaca. Take this as my only warning. Swearing and insults will not be tolerated
Thanx, Zelendel,
I know I overreacted. But I just couldn't leave the guy's insult without an answer. The guy is a bully and bullies understand only one language.
If you read his old posts, you'll get what I mean!

So, back to the actual topic, has anyone any new info on when this will be released? I've talked to a couple Bell employees, One of which had no idea, while the other said it was out already (probably thought KC1 was 2.3). Anyway, any news?
Based on previous updates very late, why not use a custom rom and kernel now, why wait?

We got 2.2 about a month to a month and a half after the initial release in the Nordic Regions. I suspect the same with this one. So around mid-June to early July but it's a guess.
If by 'Bell employee' you mean the retail shop employees, they have no idea... I asked a couple of them back in November about the froyo update and each told a different story.
I am affraid that this time we'll get the update very late. I think they will try to make 100% sure not to get into the 'december crisis' again.

I know I have the option of update to la4 via Odin but wonder when Samsung will released this to the UK
I have a UK unlocked version xeu and am not impressed the UK users are being made to wait I would have thought the UK market like the German market accounts for a large chunk of note sales so why do Samsung think it is ok to delay our release
I don't want to patch via Odin as I have never done if before and will wait but does anyone know when we will see the release

Yesterday I couldn't wait any more and updated by Mobile Odin Pro. Was fast, easy and LA4 is really more swift and dandy

I got sick of the wait too about 2 weeks back and went the Odin route then changed my CSC whilst I was at it. Very frustrating waiting for updates in the UK and it'll no doubt be another long wait for ICS when it finally comes out for us brits. Luckily flashing LA4 was easy enough...

Hey everone. Im a proud new owner of tbe s4. Ive read through the threads on here and some ppl are having issues with overheating, battery life, and lag. Well I cant say the same. Im stock right now, but have cleared data and disabled 65 apps&bloatware that came with the phone. Ive been researching online and found some devices are manufactured in Korea and some in China. Also it says the US market phones are from China(the ones that seem to be having the ill effects. Well mine was made in Korea, and a friend of mine has one from China. Needless to say, my friends phone is having the above described ill effects. So I told him to return the device back to BestBuy and see if tbey have a Korean version. Anyone having issues with the Korean version? Share your stories
i have the korean made one and the only time it gets hot is when it's on the charger overnight. any other time when i'm holding it off of the charger, no matter what i'm doing, i dont notice a significant increase in heat. the times that it does get hot, it is hottest up around the camera area.
I keep a temp gauge onscreen at all time. its rare for mine to reach 100°. once or twice it reached 104° wben using wifi while charging. thats nothing. I came from a lg nitrk hd where my normal temps were 105°+ during heavy use. ive votten that phone to 127° multiple times

I also have accepted the OTA updage last week. But I can tell you its night and day before/afyer I disabled 65 useless apps. Extremely happy with tbe phone. Sure glad I dont have a Chinatown special!

First two I had were made in China and both went back for defects. Landed myself one made in Korea and WOW what a difference. I recommend that anyone with a Chinese manufactured S4 take it back and demand one from Korea

My I9505 is from China and has no issues whatsoever so far, not even the sound cracking issue that everyone else seems to be having.
Most Galaxy S4 phones seems to actually be made in Korea though. I had a "made in korea" I9505 version replaced before (played with it for a few minutes) because it had a defect on the screen (some kind of air bubble between the Amoled and the casing.)
Mine is made on Korea. It works great and the battery life it's amazing.

Ok, so you want to support this fuc..king behaviour of Samsung by buying another phone from them....great idea....
The Note 1 got the 4.1 update around August or June if I'm not mistaken, while the Note 2 released in September last year.
The Note 3 released in September this year, luckily we've seen leaks or I would assume a similar timeline.
Surprising the S3 already has 4.3 rolling out before we do, they've already seen a major update, while all we got was 4.1.1 -> 4.1.2.
Granted, it sold in vastly larger quantities.
Even lower devices like the Grand, Mega have already seen major updates to 4.2.2 in their relatively short lifespan.
/frustration.
