Hello guys,
SilenceMe is a simple application that can be used to silence your phone ,whenever there is an event happening in your calendar. We all have those embarrassing moments, when the phone rings in the middle of a class or a meeting.
SilenceMe is exactly for this kinds of situations. Just enter 'class' or 'meeting' as a keyword in this application, and if the same keywords are found in the title of an event in your calendar, the phone is silenced during the duration of that event. You also have a setting in the application to silence the phone during all the events.
Since SilenceMe is still a beta, you can request for new features or report problems.
Search for 'SilenceMe(Beta)' in marketplace for the app.
-Regards.
Sweet! i was looking for an app like this to put my phone on silent when i sleep and turn it back to vibrate when i wake up. For the time being, i could set it in my calendar as "sleep". But as a suggestion, could you put an option to set a specific time and repeating options?
Thanks again! I'll test it out tonight and report back.

I have a dilemma that I'm hoping someone can help me out with.
I use my Wizard as my daily alarm clock, but don't want to be prematurely awakened by calls or emails. Right now, my only option is to turn on flight mode, but I need to see if I missed any calls while I was asleep. So I need to keep system sounds on, but turn off notification of messages and calls.
Anybody know of a way to set this up or know of some software that would help?
I was wondering the same thing myself, and I found nothing of help. Looks like the Wizards are really not good as alarm clocks - for the reason you are talking about, but also because alarms are so unreliable.
I cant soeak to the reliability of teh alarms, but you could get something like PocketZenPhone. That way you could have a profile with the ringer shut off but whatever notifications you want notifications left on. You could also set it to switch to this profile at a set time so you won't have to remember to do it.
I just downlaoded teh 30 day trial and it see,s to be working well with a small footprint.
turn off phone
I worked round this by turning off the phone in comm manager but leaving the sound enabled - you get the alarm as required but you're not disturbed by incoming txt/email/calls.

It is not free but I use a really cool utility from Pocketmax that lets you set all kinds of profiles so that you can have the phoen ring but no e-mail sounds or whatever you want. You can also set it to change when you plug it in, or on a schedule. Pretty neat.
PPCProfilesPro
One that is free, and does as above-mentioned programs, is MoDaCo's PPCProfilesPro.

Requires registration to the website to download, but well worth it. I found it yesterday while searching for exactly the same thing.
isn't there a silent wav file that you can use as the tones for messages and calls when you sleep?
I have the following problem and am cutious if anybody has the same problem and eventually found solutions?
Sometimes I get multiple reminders for the same alarm. This does not happen for alarms from calender. I get this only from alarms which have been set by the Clocks and Alarms menu. When the time comes it gives me multiple reminders. Sometimes up to five and I nedd to press 5 times Dismiss.
Does nobody have a solution. Is it something to do with the notification queue????. How can I access this qued notification?
i like it this way! this way i will WAKE UP instead of falling back to sleep
you can choose the number of reminders / time between reminders from the settings,
I don't use it though I use pocket music player and Megasoft Pocket Clock
I'm currently getting the same alram non stop with no dismiss option any way tot stop that this is the second time it has happened and the last time I had to hard reset. Fo rnow I have turned off all sounds but still get it vibrating
Any Ideas?
google for Check Notification
to detect any of the 'alerts' that are bugging you and delete them

Get MemMaid, or Pocket Mechanic, both tools great for sorting out a few problems, one of which is duplicate alarms...
i have a problem with alarms being 1 hour late because the device apears to change its mind about which time zone it's in!
I have paintstakenly set all of my events (including birthdays) to have a notification of NONE. However, the Incredible seems to flash the screen and "loud ping" every 10 minutes to notify me of these events anyway. I have had to resort to running Timeriffic to turn off all sounds until I wake up.
I am wondering if there is a way to get birthdays (which I believe are the problem) to actually NOT notify if you have set them to NOT notify. I dont want to completely disable notifications in case I do have a meeting or something, but this is somewhat ridiculous.
Thanks
None of my events make any sounds if they are not set to notify.
<sigh>
Ummm ... ok ... so from that response I take it that you are unable to answer my question but replied anyway.
If anyone can actually answer it, I would appreciate any suggestions. I suspect that this may be more for events which recur yearly; perhaps those are prone to the problem.
Events can come from many sources, Google calendar, exchange, etc...
In exchange there is no difference between a birthday or any other event, they are just events.
Not sure about Google Calendar.
in addition i was wondering if its possible to make calls a notification so they dont bother me all the t ime when i am playing games. i cant do airplane mode cause i still need data and need to see who is calling but i hate that i have to mute it and then do the task swkitcher and go back to my game, i wish it was just a notifcation or an option for that or an app? anyone know of one?
Is there a way to have an alarm sound when setting appointments or reminders using the Calender? For some reason I only get a beep or the prelisted alternative one beep sound when I get a Calender notification. I would have preferred a more 'alarm-like' feature. Even the beep is turned off if I decided to put my phone in silent mode. That is stupid. The alarm clock is set to go off even in silent mode why can't the calendar notification do the same? What's the point?
If there is no way to rectify this issue is there another calendar that as the alternative to set an alarm; single or continuous be recommended by someone please?
Hello everyone,
Whenever I get a new email in my Gmail box, my phone vibrates when in Vibrate Mode. But in Gmail options, I have vibration on new emails explicitly disabled. It seems the phone itself is overriding that setting. How can I get this to stop?
I don't want all vibrations in Vibrate Mode disabled though. I would still like my phone to vibrate for incoming text messages, but not for emails.

To my knowledge, what vibrate mode does is take all audible notifications and make them vibrate. That being said, if you have any notification on for your gmail, it will then vibrate when you get an email.

Hmm, makes sense I suppose, though it's not the best way to handle the scenario. If you have vibration for a notification specifically turned off, then the phone shouldn't take it upon itself to add a vibration to it just because the phone is in Vibrate Mode. I guess I'm just used to the more intelligent way Cyanogenmod does it where it provides an option to turn off vibration during a notification if has already been turned off in the app itself.
I am waiting VERY patiently for Cyanogenmod nightlies for this phone...
Yeah, well it's just over 3 weeks until this phone will be liberated as it should have been released originally! Until then, you could try playing around with a 3rd party app for sounds, etc. I don't have any to suggest unfortunately, because I don't use them, but it's just a thought.
What mcmb03 states seems true and definitely applying in Gmail app's case. I can only get it to stop vibration notification (when phone is set to vibrate mode) if I completely turn off the (or uncheck) Label notifications from my Gmail account settings.
Bug?
Either way, I sent feedback via the "Send feedback" option within the app. Fingers crossed I'm not the only one who has reported this "issue" to them and they will correct the Vibrate check function to override device/system setting.

I have my Gmail inbox set to the settings shown in my screenshot. I tested to confirm for you, these settings - mine does not vibrate when phone is in vibrate mode because it is unchecked.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Gmail app?
Well, I somewhat lied. I received upwards of 15 emails when in vibrate mode with "vibrate" unchecked and it did not vibrate. However, I have just received a couple shortly after posting and my phone DID vibrate... Odd...
EDIT: The emails to my Gmail app i received while my phone was in Vibrate mode with the vibrate feature DISABLED, those emails were sent to me with high priority, they were not a regular email. Just a note. Still weird.
