[Q] How to install HSPL4 from SD Card - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I have a HD2 with a failed USB adapter. Is there any way to get HSPL4 installed via the SD card? I've looked all over without any luck. I'd like to get ICS installed and that seems like the only hurdle.
Thanks
Steven

There is no way to do this... Sorry.

Can't be done, however you can still use SD android.

Sorry for posting in wrong thread. Please delete this reply.
Thanks MOD & sorry again

[Q] Why is my SD card not responding?

I can't seem to get the NAND work properly.
Every step went well, but maybe I forgot something.
Once I flash the ROM I reboot it twice.
When I start marketplace and download apps, they disappear from the download list. They don't get downloaded at all. With another ROM I tried the download part works, but after the install the app doesn't seem to work. After a few times plugging in and out the USB I got an error about my SD-card being ReadOnly. Am I doing something wrong? I didn't manually make partitions or anything on the SD card, should I have done so?
Also I've noticed that after I put files on the SD card and unplug the phone from the PC, astro can't find the files. Really confusing
Does anyone have the same problem or know how to fix it?

First of let me tell you that I have never had this kind of problem neither I have heard about this problem. But one thing you can do is use Panasonic SD formatter (Free) to format your SD card. Do not mount your phone on the PC. In place of that remove SD card and use some kind of Card Reader to format the SD card from PC. Also keep Full Erase (ON) in the settings for formatting.
I would also recommend you to do Task29 before flashing new ROMS. After you do Task29 install radio (2.15.xxxx preferred), install MAGLDR 1.11 or 1.12(I would not install 1.13 which is released recently. Wait and watch for that version), After you perform these steps, you should install NAND ROM on your device. Also try and find the Rom which has more versions. What I mean is for newbs like us, we should try roms which have been tested by many other PROs. and also there are plenty of video tuts on how to install NAND rom. Follow them closely.
Here is a good tutorial that might help you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91mnfufny-Q&feature=player_embedded

I did exactly what you said, but I'm still having the same problem. After I installed the NAND rom I connected my phone to my pc and dragged some files on the SD. The phone didn't see any of them, so I took my SD out and formatted it. But now it's not recognizing my SD at all. I will try some other roms.
I had that problem some mounths ago. One day it was gone. i cant tell why
I have a similar problem. To work around it I remove the sd card and reset the phone with the red button under the battery cover. When it comes back up, i insert the sd card and all works normally.
Our problems arn't exactly the same but worth a go if it helps.
after a long search i found this:

and the fix from ehsan worked !
no problem downloaden and no problems with the SD anymore! woohoo

[Q] Installing Rom from SD card for certain radio

Hey XDA,
I have T-Mobile HTC HD2 with radio 2.10.50.26. I want to install this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256423
"Runny HTC Sensation XL"
and I read a lot of guides and I couldn't find an answer if I need to change the radio or not to use this ROM.
I just wanted to know if I need to something else instead of just comping it to the SD card and use it?
That radio will be fine.
Thanks! You can close the thread.
I am not sure yet
Thanks for helping but I am too scared about it I just want to be sure.
So I need only to copy it to the root of the SD Card and then open clrcad.exe and then open haret.exe right? there is another thing that I have to do? like format sd or any other thing that I have to do before clicking those files..
Thanks for helpers!

No. That's fine. And there wasn't any need to start a new thread for it either.

You're sure that you couldn't sort out your problem? On one of your other threads (which, by the way, there are far too many of) it was stated that there is a switch on the MicroSD adapter which changes the SD card from read only to the normal mode, were you unable to find this? Also, how else have you tried to connect your SD to your PC? I highly doubt it's a problem with your SD, I think it's more likely to be a problem with what you're doing.
Anyway, to answer your question, I think the only two ROMs which can be flashed via DAF.exe are the DFT Stock Desire ROM and (possibly, I haven't actually seen the thread recently) AmeriCanAndroid. You're going to have trouble without a working SD, there isn't really much you can do without one.

if u can't find microSD adapter u may try this...boot to magldr and use USB MassStg,then connect your HD2 to computer using USB cable, just copy the ROM file and flash it via CWM

Because generally everyone has an SD card and it's an old and outdated method of flashing. CWM allows you to do literally everything away from a computer, and flash addons etc. plus backup, restore and whatever else you may need. It's far superior to DAF.exe.

Anwer:no!
If WP7 used a recovery system, would have been possible to install it any way you wanted. But since the prerequisites of installing WP7 are MAGLDR,Use last 24 NAND and CLEAR SDMBR(master boot record),i am affraid that it is not possible.WP7 recognises the SDcard as it's internal memory, therefore it formats it in a special way.So, you couldn't unfortunately even consider saving anything from it,nevermind installing off it.
Hope the news wasn't that harsh,i am sorry to hear about your problem
That wss my "not the expert oppinion "advice.

[Q] HSPL & MAGLDR while SD card in phone.. Now card won't work.

Hello..
I'm preparing this friend's phone for Android installation (used to run W 6.5).. I upgraded the SPL to HSPL 2.08, and installed MAGLDR... all of that while the SD Card inside the phone. now the card is not recognizable.. I tried choosing USB MassSTG through MAGLDR, I got nothing.. I tried connecting the card to the computer directly, same thing.. no disk shows in computer or disk manager, and when I try to refresh, it just keeps searching forever.
I installed CWM after that, and nothing new. I have both Windows sync and HTC sync installed on my PC.
Anyone had this problem before? Anyone ever did these steps while the card was in the phone?
I read that WP7 locks the SD card and you can use it only by inserting it into the phone and connecting the phone.. is that also the case with W 6.5? could the card be simply locked? the owner wasn't much of a help since he can't remember ever taking the card out of the phone.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Since you said any help is appreciated, then I'll just answer the latter question.
No, Windows Mobile doesn't lock SD cards. And never use mass storage of magldr, it can corrupt (large) files.

Thank you for your response.. I do appreciate it.. it looks like magldr has corrupted the whole card instead of just one file
I hope there is a way to save the card out there..
