custom home/power button action while in sleep? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

hello,
it's known that we can wake up phone by pressing either power or home buttons,
the question is, can either of those buttons be customized (lets say starting an app or widget)
I am asking because i use "recforge pro" to record voice notes and memos using its 1-click record widget together with widgetlocker...
but that way while in sleep mode I have to press power to switch on the screen then tap the widget... and it would be a lot easier to use either home or power button to start/stop recording directly... like a dictaphone
any help?
Thanks in advance...

Set long press Home key to suspend phone

Hi
Anyone know how to set long press home key to suspend phone?
thanks
I would love to see this too.
In fact, I'm using ADW Launcher and it can bind the home key to do a few different things but unfortunately not suspending the phone. I'm trying to contact the app author now to see if he will add in that feature.
Samsung made a great phone but the casing and button placement is so stupidly designed I don't know what to say. I feel like I'm holding a bar of soap and I can't reach the power button 90% of the time.
What is wrong with pushing the power button?
I would be very happy with a suspend widget or app. Searched the market but only found a reboot/power off widget.
App would be best. I could place that on the bottom menu.

Click to collapse
The power button work fine. But the home key is more convenience.

N1 power button long press mapping!

Hi all
is there a way to map the power button long press functionality to a power control button or a simple widget on the home screen?
u know i usually don't touch power button to prevent it from getting broken; but now in CM7 the long press opens a box to choose the user profiles, and i need to have that option
thanks in advance

[Q] Home button conditional remap?

I have perm rooted my myTouch 4G and have a novice amount of experience with roms (i.e. overclocking and mild customization). I am using the stock rom.
Has anyone created anything that allows for conditional button programming? What I want to do specifically is map the Home button to turn off the screen (currently performed by the Power button) when I am viewing my home page ONLY. When not viewing my home page (i.e. actively using an app) I would like it to still function normally, taking me back to the home page. The end result would be that if I want to close/reduce an app and turn off my screen, I would just press the Home button twice, instead of pressing the Home button then the Power button. Currently, when the Home button is pressed it zooms out to an all-screen view where I can select which of my seven screens to go to, rather than just scrolling...which I never use.
Any help? Thank you.
It's a change that has to be hard-coded into your launcher.
Or in other words: the probability for you to have it without making it yourself is very low, and if you're not into decompiling APKs and digging in smali code - you're out of luck...

[Q] Change Functions Of Home Button?

I have a 9505G rooted, and I'd like to change the funcitons of the home button. Specificaly, there are two changes I'd like to make.
1. Disable the home button while the phone is locked. While the phone is locked and asleep, I can use either the power button or the home button to wake the phone. I want to disable the home button here, so that only the power button can wake the phone. I find that while my phone is in my pocket, it often wakes up "on its own", presumably because I'm accidnetally pressing the home button against my hip, chair, whatever...
2. Launch the recently-used apps list by holding the home button. On previous devices I've used (such as the Galaxy Nexus), holding down the home button would bring up the list of recently-used apps. With the S4GE, the long-press brings up Google Now, and a double-click is required for the recently-used apps list. I'd like to change this behavior so that a long-press brings up the recent app list, and double-click does nothing.
Can this be done, and if so, how? Thanks for your help.

[Q] Switch hold home button and menu button functions

Hi
I bought galaxy s4 last month but I am not happy with functionality of the home and sensor buttons. In my opinion switch application (the list of all previously opened apps) is very important button and I am not happy to wait whole second holding down home button to get simple alt+tab feature. At all this big hardware button does not fit in the whole picture and its the biggest mistake of this phone. Now I cannot remove it but at least I want to use it as much as little I can. So I want to switch menu button and "hold home" buttons. Its far more sensible to make separate sensor button for switching app than use it for menu functionality. I didn't root my phone and I don't want to root it but if its needed to get rid of this stupidness I will make it. So is there any way to switch menu button and "hold home" button?
thx
