Hi guys hope some one can help.
I have had my Note for 2 weeks now, twice it has happend now as soon as my phone reaches 2 days uptime the phone loses mobile nerwork. When I try to go into mobile setting a pop up appears stating "insert sim card". Then I have to restart my phone and all is fine after the reset.
Phone is unrooted stock 2.3.6
Thanks in advance

Remove the Sim card clean it and reapply it. If it doesn't help try a different one and check how it goes, it may be your Sim card that is old/malfunctioning and has to be replaced if none if the above then it is the Sim holder.

So just recently my phone has been acting goofy. At random intervals my phone will pop up with no Sim card inserted. A quick roboot and I'm back up and running like nothing happened. Sometimes it does it every 10 mins and other times 6-7 hours before it happens...I live out in the boondocks and the closes att store is about an hour away. Do you think its my sim card or the Sim card holder.
I know the s4 is a repair friendly phone but I haven't the slightest idea on how to fix it. I'm rooted and running alpha ROM. I reverted to stock recently to see if that would help and no dice. One pic is Sim card missing the next is right after a reboot. It also happens when the phone is just sitting still. On the charger and off so I know its not bumping into anything.

Have you removed the back panel and checked if it's mounted properly into the slot?

Don't mean to double post but I just noticed.....I haven't had any issues all day with it till I got to work on there WiFi...I work in a metal machine shop in a building made of tin. Would that cause problems. From about 9am to 9pm my Sim card was fine...I start work at 10pm and it just popped up with Sim card not inserted

I have taken both my batt and sim out for a few mins b4 i put them back in to c if that helps and it doesnt. My phone still wont reconize my sim just like the op at crazy intervals. Plz any help would b appreciated. Do I need to get a new sim or is it my phone

I think I'm having the same issue. It forces me to reboot and then it works for a while. Ive gotten a new sim and switched ROMs and still get it. I think it happens when the phone switches towers or loses signal, its usually fine when I stay put. No idea how to fix this, I've googled like crazy
Edit- now I'm getting it during the day constantly even while not moving. This issue is driving me insane
Yea. Its deff a major pain. I'm thinking its maybe the Sim card holder now that I'm not the only one with the issue. But I haven't the slightest idea on how to replace it

My sim card holder has finally stopped recognizing my sim card altogether now. In the notification bar it says no sim and shows a sim card now on every boot

Mine is still random....no matter what I do I can't get it to happen on demand to figure out the root cause.

Mine was random then it completely stopped for whatever reason...I took it to metro and they couldn't figure it out after they put a different sim in so I took it to best buy to the samsung peps and they reflashed mf3 to my phone to c if that would fix it but all it did was remove root and my launcher and home screen and added all the crap ware back to the phone but luckily my lock screen let me use my apps to re root and re safestrap and rom this thing...im pretty sure its the sim card reader/holder thats messed up...the guy at samsung said to return the phone to samsung with the manufacturer warranty cause its something to do with the phone not what I did to it

same problem on stock rom... sim card unmounts completely randomly
Ok so my problem got solved...i went to a authorized metro dealer and asked if they had a tester sim card just to check for myself if it was the card or card holder, and it was the card that was bad cause when she put the new one in all my data came right back like it never had a problem witch is crazy cause the corp. store did the same thing they said, but i never accually saw them swap it out but whatever, my phone is fully operational now and im glad that i didnt try to update to 4.3 yet to c if that woulda fixed the issue (dodged a bullet on that one) so yea, maybe yall might could try this fix if u havent yet and i hope it works for yall...it only costed $15 for the new sim card
Edit: ok so it only helped a little cause it started unrecognizing my sim at random again...but hey at least is finding it after I reboot again instead of not finding it at all

Welp, another thread I have to bump. Any updates on a fix? Mine has been doing the exact same thing and usually only when I am connected to a wifi signal.
This only started recently and only after I started using wifi to chat through Watsapp.

I'm going to need to bump as well. I'm having the same issue and Iccan't find a fix. Tried 3 different att Sim card replacements and I even changed my tray too. To no avail not sure if its hardware or software and still happened after an Odin. I'm thinking I messed up an antenna or something.
Weird, I haven't had an error in 5 days now. And I didn't do anything differently
so i'm on AOKP on my nexus 4, it's the same rom and i have this rom and phone for 1 year now. Everything worked great and now suddenly out of nowhere, my sim card is not getting any service. Literally it was working great and 1 minute later i get this problem. On my phone notifications, it shows "R - no service". I have TMobile. I don't know why this happening. I took out my sim card and tried it on my bro's Moto G and it works there. : I also took his sim card and put it my nexus 4 and it gives the same problem. So it's problem with the phone or settings and i don't know whats wrong. ANYONE HELP? :crying:

Nine times out of ten, if the sim card is bad, and/or the phone is having trouble reading it, the phone will say please insert sim card, or something like that. Try re-flashing the radio.

i didn't use your method.
ok it's really weird....Just as quickly and mysteriously this problem came, it went away the same way.
problem popped up several hours ago, and now out of nowhere my sim is all fine again, phone suddenly read sims and i get signal.. and i didn't even do a thing....i'm so confused now. would have been better if fixed it since i would know what the problem is but now it fixed itself somehow and i still don't know what was the problem.

Cool. Hopefully it will behave itself and don't come back.

I'm am so frustrated. Lol, I called verizon today and sat on the line waiting for what seemed like forever and after talking to someone I finally got transferred to "technical support." Well, lucky for me my home phone decided to die (about an hour after I pulled it off the charger to call them) and am now waiting to speak to another representative where I can once again be transferred to verizon's technical support. The reason I called them is because I get no mobile data. When I first got the phone it worked some of the time, but now I get nothing. Calls and texts come through fine, but after toggling mobile data, airplane mode, pulling the sim, restarting the phone, and numerous other things like clearing cache I still get nothing. The phone is stock and not rooted. The 4g lte logo shows at the top of the phone and everything, it even shows a little down arrow as if it's trying to get data, but nothing is coming through. Is there a good chance it's a bad sim or should I just go ahead and factory restore the device? I'll try putting the sim in my galaxy s3 and see if it works, but this sure has been a frustrating night.
Edit:I'm thinking it's the sim as mobile data does not work on my s3 either. I still have the sim from my galaxy s3, anyway I can set that up to work with my galaxy s5, or will some functionality be missing?
Just go into a vzw store and they will give you a new Sim card

Hey, it might be a problem with the sim / a problem on Verizon's end. But did you Odin a stock rom recently?

yah some heads up from google or samsung even isp would have been nice.
Interesting. Didn't happen to me. I set mine up and had to take it to the store to get a new sim card because it came with a bad one and they used a new one. Had no issues with losing any settings or apps I installed beforehand. Must only be certain carriers.

I have S10 bought in UK dual sim. I have two sim inserted slot one UK and slot two foreign sim. They both were working fine until recently.
For the last two weeks both have started loosing connection to network. It is for few seconds 5-10 times a day. Initially this was with foreign sim and this morning the same happened with the UK sim.
I have tried all options in sim card manager, mobile networks and to restart the phone. Still the same.
I have dropped phone twice but this was some time ago so I do not think this is related.
Anyone have experienced something similar on any suggestions how to fix it?
Many thanks

Well, I think you should perform a factory reset and if problem persist, I advise you return to the Vendor as you have warranty. So you should get it replaced.
I have the same problem.. after factory reset things are a little better..
As Im using Android Auto on a daily basis, loosing the signal was very bad - as the application crashed every time that happened.. now, after factory reset and latest version of AA, I dont have any issues. Hopefully it will stay that way or Im going to ask for new one.
I was decided to do factory reset as a last resort but I thought that maybe I will start with other options and I did the Reset network settings.
So far all good. For the last two days no single issue with loosing network connection.

Mine was doing this too. Had to send it back and get a new one. Must've been hardware.
Same here. Unlocked usa version. Tried 2 different carriers, keeps losing network for no reason. Factory reset and flashing august 1 security patch didn't help either. On T-Movile forum, users that mailed it to samsung for warranty repair had motherboard replaced and issue is now fixed.
