It looks like Apple have done something similar to Google's ICS feature where you're given the option to reply back to the person via message and an additional option of 'Do not disturb mode'.. hmmm, interesting

Also note that iOS 6 is not compatible with the first generation iPad.. They also dump the current Google maps with their own proprietary maps which was TomTom based.. But why?

Gotta disagree. Having to be "forced" to sync music IMHO is BS. Plus iTunes IMO is too bloated and slow.
I rather throw music on one of my Class 10 MicroSD cards and add/remove whatever I want at fast speeds without relying on some program to do so...

But the sound quality is s**t. I have done direct comparisons between my iRiver H340 running Rockbox and various generations of iPods through my Shure earphones and Crapple's efforts fall well short. Still, what does it matter when there are millions of sheep out there who will buy a pint glass with a turd in it providing it had an Apple logo engraved on the outside?

So far I love my new Tab 10.1 but I am unable to sync my pics and videos.
I did download the latest Samsung Kies software for Mac but when I sync my photos they look like there over exposed and all washed out and videos just lock up the tab. I loved when I had my 7" tab and when you pluged the usb in it would mount the devise and I would just drag and drop my files. Anyways please any advise on getting my media on my Mac besides Samsung Kies ?
Thanks...
Although a bit of a hassle, but this will definitely work
http://blog.brightpointuk.co.uk/transferring-files-and-android-device
The hassle is patented by Apple, so don't expect innovations here
i had the same problem, i'm on mac leopoard and exactly the same washed out photo's when trying to sync with Kies. I gave up and just bought the USB adaptor and i transfer files quickly that way via USB. I seem to give out the same advice time and time again but trying to sync like you would with an ipad/iphone just won't work.
Also, I paid for dice player to play movies/music video's etc as I found the stock player had synching audio/visual issues. Now I don't have to convert anythign to play on the tab, i just transfer via USB adaptor and it's on the tab ready to play.
Latter tonight ill look up Doubletwist when i get home and see if that will work?
I would like to know this also take it kies has a version now for Mac lion

He's not addressing you. Just some Apple bashing. Lol. And he's right. Worse company ever. Just bought a iMac for a gazillion bucks. Did some research. Thought it was a great companion for my PC because the iMac also had a target display function so I could use the 27" screen also for my PC. Guess what, without any further notice they don't support PCs anymore in their 2011 models. Man o man. I feel like a Apple idiot...
Okay, off topic. Sorry.
I got my photos sync but still can't get movies on latest kies for lion but that prob cause there torrents maybe is there a fix for this u have to install a older version of kies on the Mac then open kies then update via kies to get it running on lion guys so far works

Oh well you're an exception then?
If you have Verizon's LTE tab, the latest OTA update includes Mac support. (It came out last weekend.)
Once updated, download "android file transfer". I don't have enough posts to provide link, but google it and it will be the first link.
Download cyber duck for your Mac and install file explorer for your tab. Perfect wireless syncing.

So mom bought me an iPad 2 while she was down visiting from out of state. I have to say I was a little excited to get it after hearing all the iPhone and iPad users rave about their equipment. I'm on my third day of use and I cant find one decent thing about it that I can't do better on my old Epic 4g. I couldn't be more disappointed. Anybody want to buy an iPad? JK - Momma might not bake me those amazing cookies anymore if I sold it.
I'll buy it but I don't really get the comparison between and iPad and an Epic.
The ONLY redeemable aspect about an iPad to me is the virtual textbooks for college. I don't have one though but can't say I want one either I just wish more textbooks could be found on an android tablet.

LoL, there isn't much comparison. Other than the iPad having a big screen that isn't as bright...the Epic is MUCH better and does MUCH more. I know, the epic isn't a tab, but it is my "other" computer...and the iPad doesn't come close. My daughters rooted Kindle does more than this thing.
fair enough but my wife uses the textbooks xopher mentioned. I happen to think Apple makes the most overrated products on the planet but I seem to be part of a growing minority.

Can we not let this thread turn into another Android vs. iOS?

Although Google search is faster you have to consider SiRi pulls up more resources and can do a little more. SiRI can open apps, play music from your phone, and use alternate resources other than Google to pull up even more information. I'm no pro iOS don't get me wrong. But if you're trying to declare a 'winner' you have to decide what the 'fight' is about. Is it about speed or features? Google wins in speed, but SiRi wins in functionality.

Have you guys ever read comments on a Apple centered blog? I've never read something more hilarious than stuff like that. They claim that Google copies everything that Apple does. They even think Google stole the "rectangular shape" from Apple.
If you feel like you could use some laughs just check out 9to5mac for example.
I look forward to reading comments about how Google's Voice search is shamelessly copied from Apple's Siri "Innovation". -.- Like Voice Recognition has never been used before Siri... xD

That is a tough question as there are so many aspects I am not sure where to start.
1. Customization - The IOS UI is a grid of apps, Android can be what you want it to be. Widgets, toggles, clocks, the choices are endless. Also, keyboard choices, not really open on Apple, just modifications of the ios keyboard. I personally really enjoy quickly browsing my news, calendar and weather widgets, without opening an app. Not the case on IOS.
2. Freedom - IOS: Walled into itunes with drm locked media. Android: Play what you want, when you want, on whatever player you want. Choose what media player suits you on your pc, not stuck on that piece of crap bulky itunes program.
3. Useability: IOS forces you to go back to a general options icon to change settings for a large number of apps. Android has app settings integrated into the apps themselves.
4. App returns: Apple are complete pricks when it comes to trying to get a refund for an app. Google Play: For 15 minutes there is a refund button you can click for an instant refund. I personally experienced this on my wife's ipad when purchasing an app that didn't do what it claimed. Had to go onto the desktop itunes program, find some obscure feedback button, only to get a response that I had to take it up with the app developer. When I did, the app developer said they are unable to do refunds through the Apple App store.
I could keep going, but in the end, if people would get over the Apple marketing machine/branding, and try Android, they would quickly realize how much better it is. No scientific analysis here, but everyone I know who has made the switch from Apple to Android has never gone back.
Just want to add, apple saved the music industry with itunes and the music in itunes is not drm locked, you can use it on any player that support aac file format.
And btw I am enjoying the android experience better compared to ios. But in the end both android and ios has their ups and downs and I enjoy both operating systems

Your point is supported, although I disagree with the premise of that article. My opinion is itunes did not in fact save the music industry, but hurt them through prolonging their need to adapt. My premise is based on 2 facts: 1. All industries must change with the times; 2. All market leaders eventually lose market share to innovative competition.
No one will succeed in stopping the inevitability that the internet has changed, and will continue to change, how we purchase and consume media. Free is the way things are going and therefore creative methods must be determined in the music industry to procure other methods of generating revenue. So, if itunes saved the industry by extending the almost extinct practice of purchasing music, what happens when competitors, with no such sale model arise? There is no stopping history based on one company, even the almighty Apple. Instead of finding alternative promotional, ad based, or other methods, the industry has just fed on itunes. Apple's dominance will not last forever, and the industry must adapt to that. Apple's pretty little walled garden will not support them forever.
To the guy that said I was rebutting him

Double lulz.
Hey everyone,
I currently own a Nokia Lumia 900 and I must say the biggest letdown is with the Facebook app. Here is my list of annoyances:
1. Cannot search for new people to add
2. Pictures sometimes refuse to load or load blurry
3. How slow it is to open and then you have to wait again for the feeds to load. These need to be optimized.
So what I am hoping for is an updated version for WP8 which will be the app on par with the other platforms (iOS, Android).
Anyone else agree or like to add anything?
A lot of things need to change for windows phone to be better and the fb app is definitely one of them. Let's hope they get it right this time at Redmond.

The thing is that they do not develop the app themselves. It's a third party that does it and they've been doing an atrocious job that's for sure.

I agree and it's a shame as fb and Microsoft have a very close business relationship. They need to do better to compete with android and ios.

I use the Facebook app plenty of times and not experienced the WP version. Hopefully they can update it to match the android/iOS version. Is the people app any good?

It barely gets updated too. The other platforms receive updates on a weekly/bi-weekly basis while the WP version gets them quarterly or so!
Maybe this will change with WP8. We shall see in a few weeks.

There is nothing more annoying than when you tap on a picture that is posted on someone's wall to see it and it hangs loading and nothing shows up.
Then I pick up my android tablet and do the same and the picture loads instantly.
They REALLY dropped the ball with this app!!

The official facebook app is written by M$ and i agree it needs a dramatic update, that said i feel confident this will not be an issue in wp8 but then i have been wrong before.
People still use facebook?

I don't get the hype over the android facebook app. It sucks. You are better off using your browser.

+1. I don't know how bad the WP facebook app having not used it but it must be really bad if everyone wants the android facebook app. It's terrible. Runs like crap even on the best hardware.

The android app is pretty terrible. Apparently zuckerberg is an apple fanboi.

I don't think a facebook app is really needed when you have the browser. IE is more than capable of running facebook quite nicely.
According to what one regularly reads the Facebook Apps seem to be pretty terrible on all platforms. This does not surprise me given that Facebook itself is pretty unstable most of the time (login issues, Chat issues, etc.).
Still there is room for improvement on the App side as well.

Ya 80 million people do...facebook is a ****ing spam fest.
I do not care for what Sally did at the gym. Twitter is far superior and so is Google+.

If you ignore Sally and her Farmer friends it's actually all good.
Google+ is to say the least something everyone found great in the first 5 minutes and then forgot about, Twitter is an entirely different medium all together and does not really qualify for a comparison.
but it is of course totally up to you what you use and how you use it

Google+ is rubbish!
If you don't want app updates on your Facebook wall you can just set the filter options. And if you have people on there you don't care for just dump them off. I used to have hundreds of people but I didn't care about what they where up to so I got rid im now down to about 30 people close family and real friends and that's it. This was I get to use it for what its made for and that is to socialize with my friends. Google is gash for that its just a place to share advertisements for Google.
