Skip tracks via volume buttons long-press in MIUIv4 - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Is someone developing this? The only reason I'm using now MIUIv3 is that it's have this feature. I know that Andy Thompson developed it for MIUI based on GB. It's will be very nice if someone make this. And also thanks to Geno for recent update of MIUIv4.

Also looking forward to this in MIUI v4. Only thing i need to upgrade.

volume thingy??

do any of u guys know how to get the volume thing that appears when u use the elfin's volume hardware buttons? its like an entire grey page with bars....
do u guys know what i'm talking about?
It's built into all the newer rom releases? What build/version are you using?
yes, i think so. i'm currently using onyx's winmo 6.5 rom. i want that feature and several others built into cooked roms.
I was also searching for this app today... wasted about 1 hour finding it...still emptyhanded. Well, could somebody please tell me (us..) what is the app called like? Would be nice, beacuse it isn't cooked into the onyx 5.0 rom...
Thank you
i do hope dsixda looks at our posts here. or maybe! we should write to him!!!
Ok, will you, or should I?
Yes i'd like this too, i'm using "A Touch of 6.5" ROM and i like it a lot, but this "volume manager" is missing
i wrote to him a few days ago. no reply yet

Check it out, its running on a new SYS.

[Q] Choosing a ROM

I am completely new to the whole ROM scene, but with the possibility of landscape menus in manila 2.5.1922, I really need to check it out! However, there are so many ROMs out there, and I have no idea which one I should try.
So I guess what I am asking is: What is the most reliable/stable ROM with Manila 2.5.1922/landscape support?
Thanks!
It's bumptastic!
that's a tough question to answer.if there were one rom better than the others we'd all be using that one!
read some of the rom threads...the important stuff is inn the first post usually.
next, learn what the different versions of the different parts mean. is it windows 6.5 or 6.5.3, what manilla build is it and what's the difference... then you will be able to make your own informed decision.
This type of thread is usually locked by a mod, so I'll get in first ;-)
Only you can decide which rom is right for you, really. Best thing is to look at the existing threads for roms, and try one you like the looks of.
Almost all roms here are constantly being improved, so it's very difficult for someone else to recommend a particular rom over another one for you, as within a week one may have added new features over another.
Depends what are you looking for.
Speed?
Stability?
New features?
I personally seek a ROM that is close to original HTC but with improved speed and new features. I don't search for fastest ROM, just a ROM that is little bit optimized with tweaks from this place:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
also I like how start button is moved to the bottom so ROMs with that feature are also welcomed. Threaded mail in messaging is also nice feature. When it comes to looks I like the squarish buttons instead of rounded default ones.
At this moment I found that this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614006
(23518 version) is all that I need at this moment.
Happy hunting
The only thing I'm actually is something that works just like the original ROM, but with landscape support in the menus. Does the miri ROM do that?

[Q] What is the problem with hardware keyboard's layout switch?

Hi,
Desire Z sold in certain countries has a 'layout/language switch' button on bottom-right corner. It is more or less known that Desire Z Stock-based ROMs (virtuous, test leaks) support this button properly, while other ROMs, either AOSP or non-Z Sense-based (cyanogenmod, coredroid) do not support it.
There is a workaround with alternative keyboard apps, but it does not use this 'layout/language switch' either; instead alternative keys combinations are used.
I am merely confused why this is a problem. I believe somebody has already investigated this, so is there any description of the problem or if anyone knows what should be done to solve it?
Also, I do not see sources for HTC firmware released apart from kernel. Does it means that no HTC components and modifications are published? If so, is it possible to easily distinguish stuff modified by HTC and stuff that comes from Android project and that is available in sources?
Thank you in advance.

[Q] A MIUI ROM with multi-lingual T9 support? (aka. "I can't find the ROM for me")

[Q] A MIUI ROM with multi-lingual T9 support? (aka. "I can't find the ROM for me")
Hello everyone.
I keep playing around with my phone, trying all sorts of ROMs. As you can read in my sig, the "main" ROM I use is WinMo6.5 Energy, which, as far as WinMo ROMs go, is pretty darn sweet.
But I'd really REALLY like to give NAND Android a go.
Unfortunately, every version I try seems to have something missing, and I'm having a hard time finding one that's "just right". Especially since the features I'm looking for aren't at all so bizarre I think.
Sense ROMs lack "cleanliness" due to the graphical glitches. I know it's not the chefs fault, but until HTC kindly releases the source code, I think I'd rather stay clear of those.
Typhoon Cyn ROMs are smooth and fast, but the really interesting loader features require me to make a purchase. It's not an expensive application, but I'm a "try before you buy" sort of person. I can't really tell if I'd like to use it unless I keep using it on my phone for a few days first.
And finally, there's MIUI ROMs, which are awesome except for one, main thing: they lack a localized T9 dialer. I'm from Poland, and as you could expect, I've got a bunch of people in my contacts list who have weird letters like Ś or Ł in their names and NOT being able to dial their numbers (EDIT: dial their numbers "quickly" I should add) is a huge problem.
The only thing I found so far is this: http://forums.miuiandroid.com/showthread.php?7898-MOD-Multilanguage-T9-dialer-(ES-RU-GR-PL)
However, this doesn't seem to work: it installs fine, and then... nothing. An earlier version of this mod, which required manual install via recovery, DID enable the T9 dialer, but one of the main settings app would constantly FC afterwards.
There's also a small matter of MIUI ROMs having trouble with the theme manager and no smooth "flip" animation. Both of these are minor complaints however.
So... the question I'm laboriously trying to get to is this: Is there a MIUI ROM for the HD2 which would have a multilingual T9 dialer buil-in? If not, has anyone managed to get that mod working with any recent MIUI ROM on XDA and if so, how? Finally, perhaps some kind soul read my post and thought "ahh, I know exactly what this lad needs"... in which case, please share this knowledge.

Elite rom is the MIUI v4 right? I have never tried it, but the old MIUI had an option to change the lockscreen in the Themes. If not, you can download a lockscreen app from the Google Play Store.
yep, it is just a theme, there are heaps around.
