Alright I have thought about making this post and after making an intense review of the latest issues users are reporting I believe now its the time.
So after 13 days of using the Xperia i have suffered from:
Extreme battery flush even in standby.(I use Task Panel lite to auto-kill apps not needed and still get surprises...)
1.6 Android compatibility issues with latest 2.1 programs.
Snapdragon processor that cant stand lagging on Timescape and Mediascape
Phone calls not heard correctly on the other side of the line.
No fre GPS support like TOMTOM or similar even do the chip is there.
Multitouch debates.
No root as of today...(yes i know no one promised...)
...and many other issues users are experimenting on their devices that really aint freaking cool.
So the dilemma is... Is it really worth all the headaches?
I mean very few have gone clean without any issues but many others have problems from the moment the Xperia pops its head out of the box.
I am starting to feel like it was a major mistake to trade in my HD2 for this so new stylish and hot piece of s*** that is begging for major concerning updates on behalf of SE. Maybe something spectacular might happen on its own that will make my 489€ phone work like it should, but as the days go by I see that if it aint one thing is another involved in the issues evolving the super dupper Xperia X10 that had promised to be the next best thing since sliced bread, but turns out its looking more like an overtoasted slice to me...
How do you people feel about this ?

Simply put, I feel it's a spectacular phone Timescape and Mediascape need some work, but otherwise I have zero issues and I'm enjoying this phone ALOT.
Many of those are not major issues and are really the result of someone complaining. I mean 2.1 applications dont work properly with 1.6? Really? I find the phone fast and the battery great. I and many of my friend who have iphones were immediately impressed with the speed of this phone. Do you have a ton of applications constantly updating? My phone easily lasts all day long on one charge with heavy use and thats all you can ask from a smartphone. An Iphone barely lasts 10 hours for me. Couldnt tell you it didnt have multitouch because I do not miss it, or even care about it.
I am actually ecstatic with this phone. It has exceeded my expectations.
Headaches, really? I don't know what the complains are. SE told everyone that it is being shipped with 1.6. I have been using 1.6 with the HTC Magic and I knew exactly what to expect.
Battery? Read about others phones. It is the same complain all over. I remember when I had the Nokia N95 and that was the first complain out of the box. Just be patient and wait a couple of weeks to see if there is a trend.
Root? No one promised you that the phone will be rooted. Root is at the mercy of whoever is interested in tinkering with the phone.
Multitouch? Over-rated. Never liked it eventhough my HTC Magic has it with the Amon_Ra rom. I prefer using the +/-.
In the end, it is a matter of expectations. There is nothing really wrong with the phone, as promised by SE.
With complete honesty I can say that after two weeks of using the X10 I am finding little to complain about.
Battery life has improved and I can use it heavily for a full days work without problem.
Lots of reviews before release complained of lag, but I really have seen no lag on this phone, I am not currently using a task killer as I believe it does more harm than good.
My only 'customizations' have been to load the HTC keyboard and use K9 for email (I needed push!). Other than that I really think it is the best phone I have had.

Yes, even with all the quirks, battery problem, unironed Mediascape (managing Playlist), X10 is my best phone yet. Can't wait for all of those stuff to be ironed out.
I had a HTC HD2 previously, was one of the first to own one. Now THAT was a phone with serious issues, pink camera pictures, sms messages stuck in outbox were the two biggest.
This Xperia X10 is a fantastic phone in comparison, I can't put my finger on what it is, maybe its the android OS, I don't know but I love it.
Issues for me inlude
Battery drainage, which I'm starting to be quite thankful for in a weird kind of way. Because it runs down by the early evening, I'm chargin g it every night, so it is always fully charged the next day
Lack of camera automatic flash is a pain.
Call volume is low.
The butons whilst making a call are odd. There are no call and reject hard keys which I find annoying.
I turned TimeScape off straight away as it was a waste.
Everything else is prety perfect for me, even the older Android OS.

What did I miss? Since when is Tomtom free? There are enough GPS packages out there:
-iGo/MotoNav
-CoPilot
-Sygic
-etc etc
You choose!
As for your other points:
-Battery will get better, I'm now getting 48 hours out of it. All smartphones suffer from this. I see some users getting amazing results with the battery. Better standby time than any of the competition. Just give it some time to break-in nicely.
-Android 1.6 .. I don't miss anything. If 2.1 was so important to have right away you should have bought the Desire/N1 (but then you wont have the good camera and spectacular design)
-Snapdragon lags, it seems to lag sometimes on the other phones too
-Phone calls work allright for me, maybe bad reception/bad sim?
-Multitouch, same as Android 1.6, you knew it hadn't MT when you bought the device, so why complain? With the 4" screen I don't miss MT, I don't game on the X10.
-Root will come, again you knew this when you bought the phone..
The X10 is the best phone I owned period. However it could give you headaches if it's not the right phone for you. However you should have noticed that when browsing specs/reading reviews/buy the phone...
I get all your points guys and I appreciate the feedback.
Slight correction: With free GPS I meant without using 3G assistance, like Igo08 for example.
But your right, the battery issue should settle in after a few more days and I really hope to adapt myself to the X10 way of doing things.
Obviously when Timescape makes the correct modifications it will kick some serious butt... BUT for now you gotta give it to me that it was presented in a way smoother way then it really is! anyhow thanks for the feedback once again.
I have to Agree with Cinner.....after 1 1/2 weeks with this phone, I still have a hard time putting it down. The battery life could better as 10 hours of life is not enough but the overall feel and UI make up for that shortfall.
The HTC magic I had was on its 3rd replacement before trading for the X10....so far no lock ups or freezing

You can use any of the Android compatible GPS applications(Sygic,N_drive,Motonav,Copilot)without 3G assistance(Turn it off)and still get a very fast gps lock.

Thanks for the tip, I will look into it
Well, none of them are free.
This is the only thing making me still use my 5800 XM as my main phone and the X10 as media device
issues with xperia x10
I agree with the original post.
I have been experiencing many issues too with xperia x10 and i am very disappointed with this device.
I had an HTC Hero before and when i now switched to xperia x10 it feels like going back in time. The user experience and usability of the interface is far from the HTC Sense UI. You can really feel that HTC has been testing, merging, integrating and polishing many nice widgets to make the user have a good use of the android phone functions.
As some examples, the x10 comes with 3 emails clients by default (e-mail, gmail, moxier mail), but none of them can show all mail accounts integrated in the same. Why so many applications for emails????
I have to switch from one application to the other to see all my emails from various accounts, ex gmail, outlook exchange i need to use moxier mail. It was also not possible to add IMAP with certificate to the standard e-mail client, you have to use another speciifc program (moxier mail) for direct connection to exchange server and synch. The calender had the same issue. The calendar widget only shows google calendar and does not integrate both outlook calendar and google in the same as the HTC Hero. HTC Hero provides a single email clienst which shows all the emails from all accounts, very nice, and so easy to set up, same for calendars.
When i first started the X10 phone it had very little on the start screan, no widgets really, only the timescape, which was empty, and a browser which was empty too. no music player widget. no weather widget by default either. very bad impression. HTc comes with all widgets pre-installed, the music player is really good. Xperia x10 media scape looks really bad in comparison.
Another issue was when i wanted to use TED application to see videos from TED talk, well no video at all, only sound plays back. the application worked perfectly in HTC Hero which had same android 1.6 version...hmmmm.
Another issue is the battery as well, i feel really as the battery is comsumed very fast, it lasted only 7h.
The screen and design cannot be changed either, or i havenät figured out how, it seems as you can change only the background picture of the desktop, but not the overall theme of the phone, incl sounds and colors of windows.
The white text on fading blue background color is very difficult to read, especially on the bottom of the device...so only the 2/3 upper part is readable when in menus/settings. I also have been missing the trackball.
In htc hero (and all other htc sense phones like htc desire) you can customise the phone screens and themes much more and the overall design is consistent in all places.
I also find no use of mediascape or timescape. Mediascape is a bit rudimental compared with other media player. Timescape is really unusable, since you can´t read the text over the images in the backgroud, and the smaller one have so small text as well.
Positive things? .. let me think hard ... yes 3: the sligthly large screen, the 8m camera, the accessories.
In xperia x10 you can feel that the SonyEricsson team was not really ready when they shipped this phone. I really hope that the 2.1 upgrade coming will also bring some better integration, consistency and GUI improvements as HTC does. Onother solution would be to get the htc sense rom on the x10.
This thread should be retitled to "So few issues with x10". The post preceding mine is downright laughable, not enough widgets! Are you serious? That's your niggle? This easily SE's most ready for primetime phone EVER.
no one is perfect. and this applies to cell phones. if you don't like it. sell it to someone else who will appreciate it more.
and btw. i am enjoying my new X10 VERY MUCH.
its nice that you point out some of the negative issues about the phone but dont make it sound like SE made the phone just for you and you are not satisfy with it.
email your pts to SE and hope they will improve base on your opinion
Completed my 15th day with X10. First few days I was worried about battery but all that got better as I know I was using my phone a lot more than I normally do the first few days as I am trying to customize and play with the phone. Now, it easily lasts me like any other phone I had recently (Nexus One, iPhone 3GS, X1, etc).
I feel it's the best phone I ever owned even though I have a long wishlist but mainly the ability to create playlists and also to be able to add a track to the listening queue and smart dialer. There are free apps for smart dialer but I love the look of X10 dialer so I end up going back to it even though I miss the smart dial feature.
I don't see any lag with TimeScape or MediaScape. All I notice is if I open TimeScape after several hours and I have several new updates on Twitter and Facebook, it takes time only because it is trying to download data to update the tiles. If I am on WiFi, even these downloads happen quite fast.
The only main mod I did is change the keyboard to Swype.
Yes The X10 have problems, some people can live and still love it, others just can't stand it. Nothing is perfect, if you can't live with it, just part with it really.
I love my X10 with all its quirks, just to be a little bit patient till the Pros root the device and start cooking. SE won't do any updates until they release Android 2.1, lucky if we get that by september.
i dont know what you talking about. i know some have batteri iddue but i think domthing is erong with the batteri or phone since i dont have anny problem. the only bug/ issue the phone has is bluetoth that will be fixt in a patch. yes it can take 5 - 10 sec load timescape but its not lagy at al at my phone. send your phone back for repair and it will be fixt

I think you have demonstrated another 'out of the box' issue with the X10 in your post there ! The shoddy default keyboard included on the X10 I have updated to the HTC keyboard and that is workng fine now, though I still find the IPOD keyboard easier to use....
Well ive had my hd2 since it came out and for me the only times its truly worked right is the 10mins after its been hard reset
last night i updated to 1.72 from 1.66 and if anything its slower, even with no apps installed and all my music files off it
. 1- from 9am to 10.30am it managed to use 35% battery even tho i hadnt touched it or left an app running in the background after a full nights charge
. 2- the signal is still intermittant, when its on the table it get full signal but as soon as i pick it up signal drops to 0 bars
. 3- sms types about 1 letter per second and randomly jumps the typing line about
. 4- it still thinks at 3am i want to be on the internet during my sleep so stays connected for 8 hours
. 5- the interface is sluggish (slower than winmo normaly) and even moving the unlock slider is a game to get it to actually work
. 6- when i hang up a call the screen does not change for over 1min
. 7- my contacts that are linked with facebook randomly change image to those that others have
. 8- when i press the power button to turn it on from stanby the key backlights come on but thats about it, 2mins later the screen comes on
sometimes i wonder if the phone thinks its a jam sandwich as it acts like one 90% of the time
their are brief points in the day when its working at 100%
but the rest im being forced to use a Nokia 3210i which tbh is far beating my HD2 as a phone at the moment
if you can help i would be much appreciated, otherwise im going to have a chat to vodafone about where i stand with returning it for a phone that works ok all the time, rather than brilliantly on occasion
Cheers
how about trying a custom ROM there loads better, (a new radio will help with the signal)
there is quite a few ways to just turn your data connection off (cabs)
No 7,. the facebook thing, i have 4 facebook contacts who every few weeks, always the same 4, their 'display as' email names get swapped around.
that is a pretty comprehensive list of all the faults common to hd2 stock roms to a greater or lesser degree. You just seem unlucky enough to have them all.
It also bears the hallmarks of a bad flash, i'd be tempted to task 29 and reflash it. ( I had one myself just today, perfectly normal flash, did mtty and everything, and it was just clunky - menus taking ages to open, screens taking ages to close, etc.
I wiped it and flashed again, and problems gone.)
Sometimes it can just happen like that, same with PC's, sometimes the instal just doesnt take.
get it back
really take it back to where you bought it, your problems are not software related, it is still in warranty right ?
i cant risk flasshing it to a cooked rom due to it voiding the warranty (i know it 99% of the time doesnt but i dont want to take the risk)
as for the not taking right, i thought that aswell
im on my 10th hard reset easily, and its the same all the time
its been like it from day one, if i didnt like the phone so much it would have gone back to voda within 24hours

its still under htc warranty, aswell as vodafone insurance
im covered up the ying yang, just their idea of a fix is to reflash it and send it back a week later even though its reflasshed with the same as what i sent it in with and have reflasshed with myself
<cough>
be a shame to drop it, so requiring a warranty replacerment rather than a fix...
</cough>
Sense is just horrible. It simply does not function on the HD2. The phone isn't worth anything without a custom rom. Unfortunately most peoples ROMs are butt ugly kid ****.
If your looking for a functional phone that is going to work with some degree of reliability you should get rid of your HD2. Its not really for adults or anyone who has to accomplish stuff with a personal data assistant. You will spend more time reseting than actually reading a text message or being productive with this device. Its that simple. HTC cant program their way out of a wet paper bag.
Like you said, the phone will work for about ten minutes before all the whack programming has the system in knots.
It reminds me of those bootleg Ipods that you see in gas stations for like 35 bucks.

i was thinking more of a wood chipper......
well since i made this topic ive had to softreset 3 times and had services.exe crash over 10times
everyone i know that have had htcs have all comented on the interfaces being poor
i bought the hd2 because i didnt want to join the hordes of people willing to blow steve jobs for an apple sticker
but ill give the iphone its dues for working as a phone atleast!
If its that bad why buy it, the rest of us seem to be having a damn good time with this phone, most phones are crap from a store they have all there software on it, you're on voda uk there one of the worst for it, ( i dont no if you have any on there)
the HD2 is all about tweaking and testing with custom ROM's i can assure you with a custom ROM you will be much happier the thing is nothing stock, yes i no all to well it should be awesome out the box but its not so what you gonna do about it lol, you can always put the stock ROM back on and take it back, and it wont void your warranty,
@Topofnewyork i just looked at your posts i thought i recognised the name near enough everyone of your comments is *****ing about this phone, if its that bad why you still here??
I dont see how anybody would have a WM device and have it stock
Yup, I will never buy HTC again, Im done I actully despise the company now. Its gotten that bad. The device cant remain stable at 40% capacity. The idea that it cant function with 60% of its resources free is like a total and utter failure. What is the point of this device? It cant use any of its hardware?
I hate Apple fan boys too but the bottomline is we need devices that have some level of reliable functionality. This thing gets worse every single day. Every day a new problem every day its a little slower every day its more and more ****ed up. Takes about 5 minutes to boot up to and when you are reseting ten times a day thats like an hour of my life each day just on resets. Real people with real jobs dont have time for toy devices, that cant even handle an incoming sms let alone multiple sms messages forget it the phone goes completely bonkers. Cant play music, cant play video and music in synch.
I hate the HD2. Like I cant express it enough how much I despise this device. Im ready to throw it out the window. I cant stand it anymore.
I have insurance, im sure I can get a warranty claim but even the process of having to go through that has me ready to lash out and slice the neck of the next person who sees me taking the batter cover off to reset bc the phones slider simply will not work. I cant believe they managed to mess this device up as bad as they have. I dont understand why people do reviews all they do is slide the slider tab and then presto chango, its a great device look how fast it is....test the thing by making calls bombarding it with emails and texts, and actually using it as it was 'designed' and watch the thing crash and burn. Its garbage. HTC is chinese garbage.
@demon_man I wont hikjack the threads anymore just gonna do the walk of shame through the warranty process and go back to AT&T or Verizon, the only saving grace is that I am not under any contract so I can ditch phones no problem. I usually make good choices and I am happy with each device for a year at least. I really cant believe I let HTC get me this bad on this device. I was wrong about everything with this device.

Man HD2 kicks rear ends!
Yea, maybe in Spainish high school students. I have a feeling I expect way more from a device with this much fire power than you do. Either that or you are someone who has all the time in the world to tweak this device. I love working on my car too but I just dont have the time required to troubleshoot and go through all the permutations. At its price point and superior specifications (to almost any phone currently available), this device requires way to much maintenance for busy american professionals who take **** seriously and dont have time to quibble with a slider. Your playing with a toy I am trying to conduct business w a half cooked device.
With all those problems surely its a faulty phone. Ive just flashed the new 172 Rom but the way your describing your phone is nothing like mine. Mines faster smoother and dosent have any of the faults your describing and I use the phone a lot!
Im really confused by this thread. How can your phone be so crap?
RReckless
yesterday it locked up 6 times and all i used it for was sending the odd txt message
i got it before their was news about the os faults, voda said it would be updated soon and everything would be fixed
the return time passed and their lies became obvious
on 1.66 i had 10 apps added and it worked okish
now on 1.72 with nothing but what it came with and it can barely unlock itself without crashing
will try reflashing it tomoz, also im getting shocking battery times on 1.72
yesterday it was on charge over night 8am to 10am and it was down to 35% battery, i had to go home on my lunch break to get my charger!

sounds like a dud unit to me! send it back and make a stink of it too, you'll get a better deal
sorry to hear about your troubles, i had the tmob uk 1.43 rom, it had pretty much all the problems everyones been describing, then i flashed the updated tmob uk 1.72 rom and 90% of the issues have dissappeared. sometimes the bluetooth goes bonkers, and sometimes it'll take me to a random text message rather than the one i just recieved
imo it just needs to mature abit, perhaps in the near future you'll return to a HTC device?
i must admit when i read these threads re how bad someone is finding the HD2 i wonder why they are having such a problem?? the only answer i see is that they have a faulty phone as opposed to the HD2 being a bad phone.
i have had mine since the end of dec 2009 and its the best phone i have had so far. last phone was a i900 and before the HD2 i thought that was great too.
films run great (got avatar on there at the mo) books are read easily (cheers fredabooks), music plays well and the album interface works perfectly.
gps is excellent! i use copilot for road use and memory map for off road use.
i have a few games on there and they all seem to work excellently.
the only thing i havent got working properly is the ps1 emulator and that is probably me lol.

Hi,
apart of really broken devices (hardware) I guess most of the users reporting instability, freeze etc have a lot of creepy software and tweeks installed. Sometimes freeware sometimes payware. So before bashing the phone one should try it with a Stock ROM for some days without any tweaks. If the phone is still not stable there is a hardware issue so bring it back and get a new one.
bye
Sven
I used the UK Vodafone stock ROM for months, and was entirely dissapointed with the phone and wanted to sell it. When barely using the device during the day at work, the battery would drain by sometimes 60%, all the other bugs you mentioned, especially slowness when typing texts was AWFUL.
So one day, I took the courage (and took away the warranty), and put a cooked rom on it. I haven't looked back. All functionality works, all text messages now send (and are speedy to type) and my battery (even with the phone being used and WIFI'd) will last between 2 and 3 days. Even charging via usb is much quicker.
If you don't mind losing your warranty, go for a cooked rom, read up and DO IT, I'm a very happy chappy now.

LOL. As opposed to?
I was following you until this point, then you just reeked of ignorance.
Ok, Now i've had a mogul for the past 4-5 years, didn't wanna spend more money on a phone that will be old hat in a few months. anyhow, i gave in and now i've got an epic on it's way, today.
I want to get the most from my phone and it's battery life, I also want to use my phone as my mp3 player. so can someone direct me to the best step by step directions on how to do everything. I d/l'd this link
firon.net/xda/one.click.root.exploitv2.5.5 ( ) zip &
32-bit drivers: firon.net/xda/Samsung_Mobile_...00_Epic_4G ( ) zip . . but not to sure what to do from here.
Maybe someone can direct me to the easiest steps to follow as i'm really clueless on what to do and what i'm looking for. any help would be great and thanks in advance!
I'll let someone who knows more about what you need answer, but I just wanted to comment on the Mogul. That was my first "pda phone". I had 2 other windows based pda's, so it was a natural fit. I really liked that phone, and it worked well. I had wi-fi issues with it, so Sprint gave me a Touch Pro. I liked that phone as well. I had some other issue with it and Sprint replaced it with another Touch Pro. The tech said my phone was the first he's seen that the user actually uses it to its fullest potential. I like to get the max I can out of the phone. I had Android on the Touch Pro, but didn't use it for day-to-day things because it ate the battery. I decided to get the Epic because I didn't want to wait for Windows Phone 7, and I didn't like the direction MS was going with it, so Android was the obvious choice (iPhone wasn't even in the running).
I'm glad you joined the Android ranks. What are your impressions of the Epic/Android coming from the Mogul?
It depends on what you want to do with your phone as far as staying on eclair or updating to the froyo leak. If you want to stay on eclair then I would root it with the one click root plus cwm. Then you can install a custom rom/kernel to help with battery life. If you want the froyo leak then I would root it with the one click with cwm version 3. That cwm version will change your filesystem over to ext4. Then you can flash a froyo rom since most are compatable with ext4. The only thing is there are no custom kernels for froyo since we don't have the source code yet. Tell me what way you want to go and I'll help you out.
I've played with a few friends phones, but they were not rooted, and they always kept their power cords with them. I hated that. but i like the keyboard, the screen resolution, i honestly haven't touched any apps yet to date. I am very vanilla when it comes to learning the phone and the whole android process. I have read different forums/blogs and they all direct me back to here for the best help. so I'm here. The biggest thing I really want to do is use the phone as my mp3 player and take advantage of having a very simple os and get the most out of my battery. I do use the inet on my mogul with skyfire but it just doesn't work anymore. I will need to use my calender, fb, things like that, i do like the neat icons that i've seen on different pages. i also was told they even have apps to design your own ringtones with music on ur phone. that's really cool too.. I really feel like a dinosaur with this stuff..
ok, the phone just got here, i'm gonna charge it 1st and then call to activate it after it's finished. also, for xtra cords, any site better than any other?
ok, the phone is here, i've added some apps. and contacts.. now what?

Load some music up and start using it.
somehow i loaded everything on it, but it went to the phone and not the sd card! is there a way to move it over to the sim card now?
and what do i look under?
cdma phones don't have sim cards. And it doesn't have very much internal memory either, so are you sure you didn't put it on your sdcard like you intended?
sure did.. ur right. see, i am a complete rookie on this one.
Buy an extended battery
I bought an extended battery on eBay back when I got my Epic last November. It is a 2800mAh battery and I can actually run about 10-15 hours of light usage with wifi/4g/gps turned on (10-12 with wifi on, 13-15 with wifi off). If I am watching TV on my Slingbox app, it usually runs for about 6-7 hours. Pocket Legends tends to be a bit of a battery killer but I can still go for about 4-5 hours of gameplay (although the phone tends to overheat...lol). I highly recommend a bigger battery - it does make the phone bigger, but imo it is worth the extra weight. The name on the battery is "Yoobao". I have been using it for about 3+ months now with no issues.
good info. . . how much they running? i really just wanted to run some low power apps..
I think mine was about $35-40. It wasn't very expensive. I just did a quick ebay search for "epic 4g extended battery" and there are now many options for about $15-30. I may actually try out one of the 3500mAh batteries, seeing that the price has dropped! Never hurts to have a spare. Some have separate battery chargers included as well.
Thanks man, I just ordered like 3-4 new cases.. can't remember, i like to change the colors up at times bc i get bored!
Most cases won't fit over the extended batteries, sadly. I'm getting ready to sell my sweet Body Glove case because I never use it. Makes me sad, I really like that case..
Man Oh Man, what to do...
Is there a way to get this fetaure on our Galaxy S'es? Missing it since I changed to regular headphones with no answer button.

Double-tapping the headset button (or actually one press that can be long followed quickly by a tap) skips tracks in the stock music player.

Hard to do when you don't have the button, this also doesn't prevent that feature
Insanity cm has that feature.

How does this have something to do with getting this feature to Samsung ROM's...? CM7 has horrible battery life, the camera application is worse than Samsung and no working video player.
I ve been working on it but failed , I didnt spend lots of time on this , seeing there was not much interest I gave up ..
If more then one person is interest in that I can port this and add to my rom , just let me know .
Searching for this too

You didn't say anything about Samsung, you asked how to get it on our Galaxy S's. I have it on mine, so I figured you missed the obvious. =)
I also get a solid 14 hours with 4-5 hours of the screen being on running CM7; I have absolutely no issue playing videos using any of the many players I've tried; and it takes perfectly fine photos for me too, since I don't use my phone for actual photography--I use, y'know, my camera for that.
But hey, being a douche does wonders I hear. Keep it up. All the best to you. =)

How was I being a douche?
14 hours is too little if I forget to charge it in the evening and I haven't been able to play xvid's or x264 videos, only with DicePlayer but it only has a trial and the quality is bad and sound choppy. It takes photos but the stock one is just so much better.
About the adapter... that looks awesome since the bluetooth one's cost around 50 euros, will try and get one

Bumping the thread - lack of "hold to skip track" is the only thing that keeps me from trying non-CM7 roms, and to be honest I'm getting tired of bugs. My phone failed me so many times in recent months it's not funny anymore.
Just that stupid "hold to skip"...

I'm definitely interested. Right now, I am using Player Pro for this reason, but it doesn't work all the time.[my network data usage alert comes from my network operator, which requires one to select ok].
Would love to have this feature on stock Samsung ROM's ..
As an aside, was really interested in Galaxy Tuner's [Power + HHOOK key button remapping]. Would be really awesome, if you could look into and see if incorporating that is easier that the long press volume button fix , which OP is requesting.?
I found this model can be purchased for aliexpress.
what think?

get it from eCrater.com from Tech Direct i believe it's called... it will be $177 total (including shipping) but i got mine in 3 days.... I ordered Thursday of last week Very good seller
I have been emailing manufacturer's because they are apparently working on software to use with the device to pair to the phones. There are no current apps that utilize call handling from Phone to Watch so the device is more of a standalone device for now. Plays videos, good camera, touch functionality is good, it got a little bit hot while i was runing ADW launcher so i uninstalled that... stock launcher runs fine. Charges fast - FM radio feature is pretty damn cool however you have to use stock headphone it comes with as antenna, they plug in via micro usb. Overall great build quality... Looks like an HTC One LOL
Looks good

In the video, the person said that the battery will last 1 and 1/2 days. (Not a China dude but I still understand their Singlish)
Btw the battery life is probably the same for other similar smart watches unless they have battery tweaks like the Qualcomm toq and the pebble smart watch which reduces or fully disables touchscreen and colour
Well the battery life i don't know because i haven't killed it yet..... The battery meter goes up and down QUITE a bit though so i can't get a real good read on the battery gauge, which is kind of frustrating...
So far i've rooted and changed the boot animation with rom toolbox pro. I cannot get the stock lock screen clock and launcher to go away tho, even after changing the filenames in /System/App which leaves me boggled. I am running ADW and a large digital clock on my homescreen and would rather unlock to that then the analog clock.
If you guys are interested, i did a quick review of the watch i will upload to youtube tonight and make new thread with video

What are its capabilities as far as connecting to a phone
Short review
I just received mine in the mail and must say, I'm pleasantly surprised. Build quality is excellent. The screen is bright and hires enough to be able to read everything. Wifi is stable and quite good, in contrary top most other China devices I have (mostly JXD). Of course the keyboard is a bit cramped and hitting the right letter is a gamble but the screen is sensitive and it doesn't take a strong touch. The interface is very smooth and responsive. I have installed a few apps which work well. The only thing that keeps crashing is Skype, which is weird as it came with the watch. There seems no way to use Google Now either (it keeps crashing) which is a pity as I don't want to even think about searching with the on-screen keyboard. The loudspeaker is okay (not great). I haven't tried using it to call anyone yet, that will be next on my list. I just noticed that the watch doesn't take micro sim cards. That quite surprising for such a small device. Now I'll have to go out and buy a regular sim card. I'm not a big fan of adapters.

It looks like a nice device I'm torn between buying this watch or just waiting around for the kickstart project Neptune Pine. Which seems to be a much more polished product
I'm also thinking about getting this or the neptune but the Pine looks so big it will make my already small wrists tiny!
I like the idea of the Pine but think I might go for the ZGPAX....

The thing is that its recognized by bluetooth as a phone so there is file transfer capability but not call handling or notification handling until the manufacturer releases an app to provide support for this... I would advise anyone who purchases to try and contact the manufacturer and get this info. Ive been looking a week now for an app in the store but have found nothing.
