Don't use MAGLDR mass storage. Either boot into recovery and use its mass storage or remove your micro SD card and plug into computer directly. MAGLDR mass storage has problems or at least I have experienced some before. Mounting the SD card in recovery should work much better.

it would be much better to take out the SD & use a card reader. I have tried several times using the masstg USB of magldr but most of the time it will fail.

MAGLDR gives errors when transferring data to the sd card. You should boot into clockworkmod recovery and mount usb storage from there.
Hope it helps

[Q] can't see files on SDCard after transfer

Hey,
trying to copy files from my pc via usb to android. I am running MDJ Froyo Revolution 1.4.
Set the phone to mass storage, can copy files to the sdcard from WinXP or Win7, but after transfer, Android won't see the files I copied. Files are on the card, because when I look at the card directly via cardreader, files are there.
Any suggestions?

It's a known issue with file transfers to and from the SD Card via Android. Try and unmount your SD Card (via Settings -> SD and Storage -or something like that- -> Unmount SD card), pop it out, wait for about 5 seconds then pop it back in. If that doesn't work, rebooting will surely do the trick.
If what anrabi4 wrote doesn't work, try transfering the files in WinMo and then switch to android.
in this way worked for me and in unmount way didn't weird.
download an app call SDRescan from market.

[Q] Is it possible?

Hey. I have owned my Wildfire for a week now so I am still a noob. I wanted to know if it's possible to install a custom ROM on the wildfire without an SD card so basically do it through USB. I have seen some phones can do it with Amon RA recovery but I don't think it is possible for the Wildfire.
Thanks.
Dont think it is although why would you want to do it without? The wf comes with a sd card

Because when i put my SD card in the adapter and put it into my laptop it cant open the card and asks "do you want to format" and when i choose yes it says "unable to complete format" so im screwed with that SD card
Use paragon partition n look on YouTube 4 a video that will sort it out n will fix that error
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Still dont work its not even showing up on my computer now ive probably ****ed it somehow but on my phone it says 1.83gb free space. weird.
Dose paragon partitioning show ur sd at all if not erm check to make sure ur SD card reader is ok bu using a different SD card
if paragon partitioning is showing ur sd card.
is ur SD card signed as active and does it have a volume letter as these thing will stop I from formating the SD card

It showed my SD card then when I tried to format it would only show my hard drive and plus the free version does not let you do anything to the card.
Try Panasonic SD Formatter:
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/index.html
E: Probably unrelated, but, make sure your card reader supports SDHC cards.
1.What happens when you connect the phone via USB and choose mount as disk drive?
2.When you use the SD card adapter, and right click on the SD card's drive letter if there's an option to "open as portable device" try that also try updating your laptops card reader drivers.
3.Use bluetooth to transfer the ROMS?
4. If you're already rooted, try formatting SD card via ROM MAnager.
As far as I know you cannot install custom firmware (a "ROM") without an SD card.
You don't have to use your SD card directly from the computer to install custom firmware. You can use file storage mode on your phone's USB connection or adb to access your SD card through your phone on your computer.
To install CyanogenMod with the help of adb, follow the steps in hxxp://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Wildfire:_Full_Update_Guide and put the update.zip into the root of your SD card with this command:
Code:
adb push update-cm-6.1.0-buzz-signed.zip /sdcard/
You need to have your phone connected to your computer, have the appropriate drivers installed to do this and have USB debugging enabled on your phone. Documentation on adb is available at hxxp://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/adb.html
An alternative way to the above adb method is to enable USB phone storage mode when you connect your phone to your computer and transfer the update.zip file to your SD card.
Hi guys thanks for all your help I have fixed my problem. All I did was use a windows 7 laptop and it worked.

[Q] Can't copy files to SD

Hello,
Today I've flashed MAGLDR+CWM and then flashed Android. All worked perfectly until I decided to flash another build and tried to copy the ZIP package to my SD card, which I couldn't. When booting to MAGLDR usb mass storage option the computer "sees" the SD, but as soon as file copy starts the computer "loses" the SD and MAGLDR freezes (had to take battery out). When I boot the build I flashed, connect USB cable and select USB Mass storage, the computer sees the drive but claims there's no disk in it. What is wrong here?
TIA
Don't use magldr mass storage, it has bugs. Boot into cwm, go to mounts and storage and select mount usb storage. Works perfectly.
MAGDLR work for me... CWM not...
Anyway, the best is to just slot your SD in a card reader.
NB: If you're under Android, do not forget to "unmount" the SD before removing it.
[SOLVED][Q] Can't copy files to SD
It now looks like the problem is PC-related, as I was able to successfully copy files to SD from another computer. Thank you for your help.

[Q] SD card problem/error while copying typhoon zip

Hey everyone,
I keep getting the same error while copying the Typhoon zip-file to my SDcard (empty, and 8GB is available).
It seems to be loading it onto the SD card, but it gets stuck (see 1st photo), then I get this error saying the card is no longer connected (which it is). I've turned off my phone several times and tried again and again, but I can't get it to work.
I hope someone can help me.
If not, how do I get back to windows 6.5 ?
Use an sd card reader. They are normally really cheap.
Otherwise format the card with sd formatter (program) and retry.
Before that you can try to copy the files via clockwork mod :
Mounts and storage and the mount usb or try to mount just sd.
Hope this helps you.

Hi Y'all
Im having the same problem trying to Install NAND Android with ClockWorkMod Recovery. At the last step,
7. Open your favorite ROM (ex. JawsMIUIrec1.0.7z) with 7-Zip.
8. Copy .data folder and ex. JawsNandRec1.1.zip to SD card root level.
I encounter exactly the same thing the OP is saying. Its not copying over. Im using a Kingston 8 GB microSDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDC4 and my PC is running 7.
Any other suggestions?
jonas has given u the best solutions but there is another 1 u could try.
if u have a camera with an sd card reader, stick it in there, attach camera to pc,see if it allows u to format the sd card, then try to add the file
HOPE THIS HELPS...............FEEL FREE TO HIT THANKS

E:Unable to write to ums lunfile (No such file or directory)
What can i do. pleaseeeee i have been searching for a solutions for 2 full days.
If you're just looking to get the rom.zip onto your sd card, and don't need to flash a new recovery or anything, you could just install dropbox on your phone and on your computer. Download the rom on your computer, and the put it in your dropbox folder, then download the rom from dropbox on your phone.
I've had to do this to get roms onto my sd card for quite a while, since my usb port on my phone is broken, it works fine, just takes a little longer than transferring via usb.

yeah but i cant get the rom on my sd card because i have no rom, i only have magldr and clockworkmod recovery on my phone, and when i choose mass storage in the magldr menu. my pc doesnt recognize the phone.
what is problem here you thing, my hd2, the micro sd card or the windows 7?
Not knowing anything about it, I would have to say it could be any one of the three things you mentioned is wrong. Or it could be your USB cable.
Maybe you could try another cable, try plugging into a different USB pot on your computer, or better yet, try a different computer if available.
Isn't there also a way in CWM to connect your comp to your SD card? I've always hears that transfering files to your card via USB in MAGLDR was unreliable and could corrupt files anyway. Maybe you could put your card in a friend's phone and plug that phone into your computer and transfer the file.
Iirc thats linked to the sd card, so it may be faulty or just need reformatting
I have had to follow this proccess a few times when I've had issues with my sd and I have the 4th new csrd in the phone after about 20 months
First I would check out the sd card, and delete all partitions on it - format as primary partition and fat 32 use EASEUS free version
Then task 29 the phone
Then I would reinsert the sd card and then follow the instructions running magldr and cwm before flashing your rom again
the thread for the rom should provide help if not try the CoreDroid rom V1.7 the thead is very active with lots of online support
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926507
I would have a look
