I got 2 main issues:
1) I cannot access XDA developers from my note, regardless of the browser I use.
2) I suddenly noticed that a large number of photos that I never uploaded or synced appeared on my GNote. I suspect they were downloaded either from Google+ or Picassa, I'm not sure.
a) How can I ensure I don't download automatically from any apps that I install?
b) How do I get rid of the files? This is more complicated because they appear in my Gallery under "Instant upload", but I cannot find that folder anywhere on my GNote (mind you, I don't have a file browser that allows me to do a search)
c) why can I not delete images via the my gallery app? sounds kinda moronic to me. a gallery app should have a 'delete function, in fact I consider it a mandatory function...
Any suggestions?
You need to check couple things first settings accounts Google untick photos picasso

Try using xda in market place

Given the strange behaviour of your browser downloading an anti virus software and performing a scan would no be wrong.

Did have.the same issue but only lasted a little while until rebooted.
Just wondering, have you tried logging out of your account and re entering it?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Yes, i did login and logout from my account. I did solve my problem already though. apparently, when I played with the market tools in titanium I inadvertently linked several apps to google play that were not supposed to be linked in the first place. I had to go through them and unlink them via titanium and it fixed the problem. I downloaded MARKET FIXER to determine which apps needed to be unlinked.
Hope this thread would be of help to anybody who would experience the same problem.
I do wonder if they're tweaking some settings with the new play market... I did a hard reset (because I froze stock dialer.... Big mistake ;-) ) and since, on usual dpi settings that have always worked before, 200, 240, I'm getting the error my device is not supported... Googled it and there are a lot of new posts about this since the update. Dunno if it's related.
I do have titanium but have never touched the market settings...

This is an old issue and it is caused by the Gallery and a few other system settings being mistakenly linked to the Google Play market which leads to the removal of the apps in My Apps section.
Indeed the best solution is Market Fixer as the OP has discovered above and the link is below:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kstudio.marketfixer
You usually only need to remove the system app market links to get it to work. This procedure needs to take place after every firmware update too. Before the apps return after using the Market Fixer, you can download a free app and install it from the Market to refresh your apps.
Yes that works perfectly, but you have to know that now your google account is corrupted for life with those system apps liked to it. Now everytime you flash or update a rom, you will have to go through this to get back a functioning market... sucks big time. F***ing titanium backup, and me for being stupid and use it to screw with the market... oh well, I have good health so that is what is important, it's just a phone...
Hi
After updating to 4.1.2, I got a "Samsung Mobile" folder in mobile bookmarks in Chrome.
Anyone know how to delete that?
I dont get the delete option when I hold on the folder.
Phone is not rooted.
Me too, bloody annoying!
You could remove it with titanium backup and then install from the market.

Phone is not rooted, and will not be. (Company phone with software installed to check for root)
Chrome is already installed from the market.
I'm wondering how Samsung is allowed to make permanently active bookmarks in a 3rd party program.
There must be a way round it, i tried deleting cashe and app data, uninstalled updated but nothing removes it without rooting!
I cant believe samsung has done this! very annoying it pop ups when i want to access my bookmarks
The answer is here:

View the applications in Settings/Application Manager/All. Best viewed in landscape to see the full application name.

It's a system app in 4.1.2. It's called chromewithbrowser.apk in the system folder. Then it updates from the market just like Gmail, maps etc.

I have enabled location sharing from settings since I frequent use my phone for turn-by-turn voice directions and some pedometer-like apps to count my activity. I also like some Google Now functionality that enabling location access gives.
However, besides disabling this setting system-wide, it seems that the Facebook app always shares my location when I post status updates - and I find that extremely annoying. I scanned all app settings and could not find a way to disable location sharing from Facebook.
My question - is there anyway I can keep the system-level setting while preventing Facebook app from accessing location? I have not rooted my phone (Nexus 4) but will be willing to do so if that can help me with this problem.. Any suggestions?
Doesn't the LBE security software allow you to set permissions on a per app basis? I think you need to search for it on xda for the translated version.
Facebook doesn't share my location each update, I just checked a bunch of previous ones and they don't mention it at all.
Thanks!! LBE seems like it might do the trick... Will root my phone tomorrow morning and put lbe.

Rusty try checking in to some place once. After that it will always share your location for all posts you make. I checked in one without knowing this‚ and there is no way to undo it after.

Its under settings in the Facebook app
I don't see it under settings... Can you please elaborate? The only setting I see is for sharing location on Chat/messenger but that does not change the location sharing behavior on regular posts.
Any way‚ I rooted the phone but lbe privacy does not work with jelly beans (soft reboot on startup - several recent reviews on play store also says that).. So for now after resetting the phone I've not used the checkin feature on Facebook.. It's a bad workaround and I hope LBE fixes it's jelly bean issues soon.
Thanks again

So i lost my nexus 7. It's only wifi. And i don't have any security app installed.
I know it's a long shot, but can i install an app and activate it remotely without sms activation. I searched all over the playstore and was only able to find apps for phones and not tablets. Please help!!!!

You could try this one, I've installed it on my N7 and it works fine. Just install from play store and follow the instructions on the description.

Sign in to Google market with your gmail creds and push a security app to the tablet from the market
This will push the app to the tablet if it is still using your creds.
There was an app - I can't remember the name - perhaps "Android Rescue" ?? - that could be commanded via SMS even though remotely installed (That is, not manually started at least once after install). Obviously this exact app won't be useful in your case but there should be other apps that implement a remote wipe or alarm via their website e.g. Lookout)
Some apps have an execute-on-install attribute; perhaps Lookout or other security app will let you remote wipe or remote geolocation.
None of this will work if the tablet has been wiped or the Google creds are NOT still in use.
There are several implications of that "cred" - you should make some quick decisions.
Any idea what this filenis cant find it in app drawer but its a file in the system directory

Look in the games section in the Group Play app.
Or create a shortcut to it using a home screen widget personalisation app (minimalistic text, uccw, etc) to open it directly.
It's a group playing game though, it's no good on your own. Also, see the Canimals Match 3 game too, you can play this on your own.

My Samsung Galaxy S4 Has Also Been Infected With The Same Two Undesired Programs
How is that this same poker game (Com2uSPoker 1.3.2) and the same matching game (Match3VS 1.0.127) are both on my phone installed as system apps? They survived a system reset I had to perform over the weekend because of an infinite boot loop. I found the two programs in a Titanium Backup log as currently installed software, whereas they do not appear in my menu of apps. I just happened to be looking in there because I'm in the process of restoring my phone to normal operations. But these unsolicited apps were hidden in my phone, as far as I can tell, since before December 1st, 2013! And they have had free access to my personal data all along according to their stated permissions! This is alarming to say the least because I did not install them. I filed a complaint with the IC3. Any ideas what is going on? I've had Avast Antivirus installed on my phone all along but nothing was caught!
