So my friend and I last night decided to unlock, root and flash recovery using the nexus 7 toolkit. Everything seemed to work ok, but now we have a major issue. It seems last night he flashed phandroid rom or whatever its called, but didnt wipe, so now he lost clockwork somehow, and the rom just boots and doesnt do anything.
We tried using the toolkit again to push recovery, it says it sent it, but we can only access fast boot. If you hit volume keys to get into recovery mode, and select it, it wont go into clockwork, just tries to boot the rom
Any suggestions?

Do you have the N7 connected to your computer via USB? For some reason it won't boot into recovery if it's not connected via USB, I had this problem when flashing the Paranoid Android rom.
Cmon chugger you have the gnex for god sakes why the hell did you use a toolkit.
Secondly If you can fast boot flash a recovery. And boot into recovery and reflash the ROM.

Seem to have an issue when i try and boot my device into recovery. It has CWM 6.0.1.9, which was flashed using the V4.0.0 toolkit, but every time i boot it into recovery i just get the standard recovery image of the android fella laying down with the red triangle above it. I have tried reflashing CWM onto it twice now and keep on getting the same issue. But i know CWM is on my device cos ive used it to make a backup about an hour ago. Any ideas?

Use twrp mate, you'll never look back. Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779092
Also, avoid toolkits. :silly:
(i read many threads relating my issue but they were not same, they was little difference in the problem. and i also tried there solutions but no improvement. so i decided to ask in a thread)
i was using defy+ with CM7 rom.
I installed this rom on my defy+
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044797
first it booted and was working but after rebooting it resulted in boot loop .
( it shows Motorola sign then shows rom animation within few seconds is resumes rom animation and it keeps repeating animation.)
i waited for it an hour but is didn't go well.
then i tried restoring my old rom using CWM but i was unable to restore it is also resulted in same...
then i tried installing sdf using rsd but i have no improvement....
Now i can only go to bootloader version 09.1 and i says battery is low , can't program . i put the charger for whole night but i still says battery low can't program
can you please help me solving this problem
After installing that Rom you needed to enter boot menu and format data to ext4. Now, if you're unable to flash any sbf due to low battery then refer here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892026
Or if you have access to another defy then use its battery and flash the sbf. Wipe data from stock recovery if you run into any issues after sbf flash
As stated below dalvik cache should be wiped, and data is automatically wiped when you format it to ext4 as stated above

Or in other words you need to wipe data/cache and dalvik BEFORE and AFTER flashing the custom ROM (neagan or other). For now charge the battery and do the sbf flash. Pay attention at the "optional" indications. It better to do it.
CWM is missing
using your link i can solve the problem
but i dont have CWM so i cant wipe delvik data/cach
i only have bootloader
i only can go to bootloader and can't do any thing else. because CWM is removed.
tell me if you have any information about to do something using bootloader..
Do it from stock recovery, data wipe and cache wipe

From stock recovery (bootloader) you will format as ext3 but is better to format in ext4 and that can be done from custom recovery. For that you have to install 2init and run it.
He's unable to boot...boot loop was before battery issue

How do I enter Recovery Mode?!: With the Phone off press VOLUME DOWN then, while still pressed, power up the phone and leave VOL key pressed until you see a Yellow triangle, once you see this you are in Recovery now press Vol Up and Vol Down at the same time (if you are in Froyo) and the menu will appear, if you are on Éclair the menu should appear without having to press anything.
copy/paste from this thread.
thanks
Thanks bros
I recovered my phone and i is running with CM7 and i am not gonna try CM10 again until it comes with all bug fixes..
thanks again for your help..
Hi guys,
I have a Milestone 2 running unofficial JB 4.3 (chinese version), and I tried to flash the file CWM 6 Recovery (.zip) via recovery. The recovery original of this rom is Android system recovery <3e>. Now when I start the device stuck in a bootloop. I don´t know what to do, and my desktop don´t recognize my device, despite all new motorola drivers installed, is impossible to make any update via RSD Lite.
I need help, any suggestion?
when you say that your desktop doesn't recognize the phone, did you put it in flash mode then?
you have to press the up button on the keyboard and the power button together to enter that mode. the phone should show you the bootloader version and some other stuff.
now you can connect it to your desktop computer and it should show as motorola flash interface in the device manager. then you can flash with rsdlite.
that said I had to do the whole procedure recently aswell. on my primary workstation rsdlite didn't recognize my ms2 at all (despite having proper drivers installed and despite it showing correctly in the device manager). so I tried it with a windows xp vm on my macbook pro and there it did work.

No, I don´t do that, I put in the recovery mode only. I didn´t know how to enter in bootloader, now I know that, thnks! :good:
Is wrong and risky flash the cwm6 via recovery, the right is always flash via RSD Lite right?
Supposing, through this procedure that you recommend me and the RSD Lite recognizing my device...
What file I flash to solve the problem?
you can download a sbf for your phone (depending on your region) from here: sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_milestone2/list.php
after you flashed the sbf you have to boot into recovery and wipe data.
you will be back to a factory reset stock rom after that!
it might be possible to rescue your current rom/data but with that I can't help you. I don't know how to get cwm6 either.
the way I went was: gingerbread stock via rsdlite -> CM10 from tezet via the method described by tezet -> CM10.2 from Engle_Mars via the cwm recovery from tezets CM10 rom

Now, before I did the procedure to flash the rom, I start the Milestone 2 in the Bootloader mode as
recommended you.I noticed the battery´s device is discharched, and I don´t have other battery to replace.
Remembering my recovery don´t have any battery charge options.
There is one way to charge the battery or solution, without use the recovery mode or buy another battery?

Only do this for a short period of time, else your battery could damage.
Flash something, then wipe data in stock recovery, and try to boot your device.
Good luck

Thanks a lot dude, I´ll try it!
I have a Motorola Razr M XT 907 on Verizon, which had been rooted for a long time. I wanted to update the software, hoping to get better reception and battery life. I made the mistake of installing the latest update, KDA20.62-15.1, which can't be rooted. I did, however, unlock the bootloader beforehand.
I have tried to flash a new recovery, hoping to downgrade the android build afterwards. Each time I try, I get confirmation of success in the command window, but I can never boot into recovery.
Any ideas? Or am I stuck staying unrooted?
Once you get recovery flashed, all you need to do is flash a SU.zip in recovery to gain root access. What recovery file are you trying to flash? Also, after recovery, immediately power off the phone and then boot straight into recovery so the update script can finish.

Thanks for answering. I tried to flash Clockwork recovery and clockwork touch. After flashing, I turned off and tried to boot into recovery, but the phone wouldn't boot into recovery mode.

Okay so i pulled this phone out to mess with it.. Rooted, Bootloader unlocked and installed CWM Recovery because i cant seem to install any of the twrp versions.... I am able to backup and restore my system without issue but cant flash a custom rom in recovery. Is there something i am missing?
On stock kit Kat 4.4.2 and using cwm 6049razor-hd_m-kit Kat sorry left that out...
Which error?
Starts to flash then fails with droid on his back
I have same issu e!
Successfully flashed clockwork recovery...
But after boot into recovery mode is starting normally instead of recovery mode...
What can I do????
Don't let it reboot.. Hold down power and volume to go into recovery manually. If you allow it to restart it will load stock recovery back onto the device.
