I have an Indian note..recently updated to official ICS.. never rooted.. never installed any custom rom.. today while trying to open the music player it crashed saying not enough memory.. I checked settings > storage and it says that my internal sd card has no available memory. Just yesterday the music player was working fine. What is the problem?? I restarted my note and the problem is still there. I know for a fact that There's more than 8gb of available space in the internal sd card. I just have a few pics and songs on it. That's it. Nothing more. What could be the problem?

the music is on my ext sd card but no matter what rom it's on it won't show up there. I did flash back to a stock rom and it still is there and shows up and works just fine. Is there any way to fix this?
Have you tried unmounting your sd remove it. Then put it back in? This happend to me recently and thats how I fixed it. Also plug your phone up to a pc and see if it can read the files from your sd through the phone.

Try re-scan media from the market. Basically we want to force a rescan of both sd cards

Tried both ideas and they didn't work. I was able to pull up file in file manager and play through there but that's a pain in the ass
Hmm, thats odd. Are you using the stock player? And have you tried downloading different players from the market, or flashing one to test it? What build version are the ROMs you are using also?
I have tried about 8 different roms. My current one is Toxic7.xwjs8
Kernel version 2.6.32.9 OverStock-1.2GHz-2.4.1 #8
I have tried the players that flash on the rom ,I've tried dl win amp. I even thought that it may have been an issues since the music was synced with the kies 2.2 update so i formatted the sd card and put it all back on again and still nothing
try putting it in the int sd...
I know that works but I don't want it using my internal memory plus I have to much music
any other ideas
Idk what else could be. Does your phone actually read the card at all If you go to storage in settings? Have you tried a different sd yet?

You have got to settings on your media players, click where it says scan folders. Select the. External sd. After that refresh the app. That's it. I have a full 16GB of music and its able to read it.

HELP! My p5100 only shows 1.97 gb of Memory instead of 16gb
Before all of this happened I flashed a few aokp's but I wasn't impressed by the aokp so I returned to stock rom but when I tried to update my FIFA 12. It said that I need more space so when I checked my storage in settings it only showed 1.97 gb. Please reply and help me ASAP.
I'm just a 14 year old guy. Please Help me. :crying:
Well its because it leaves stuff behind what you'll have to do is format your SD but first backup your stock to and external SD card so you can return back to stock and have no problems

LuckyPatcher.apk , but you need to find someway to get it to your external SdCard, and install from a file manager with root permission.

maybe you have a 2gb sdcard and you swapped it .
and i'm a 12 years old guy.
Maybe u have so many apps...
And the downloaded aokp roms will consume memory so delete it if u dont wanna flash it..
And im 12 too
You should see the gallery and picasa app sync. Sometimes Picasa or other app like Drop box or other app, download all the photos and that`s why your internal memory it looks full.
Is there anyway to move apps to SD? I know they took out the feature in ICS, but maybe via an app or something? 8GB is pretty small when you take away a gig for a rom slot...

better yet, has anyone figured out if you can flip flop the internal and external sd locations so the phone thinks your external sd card is the primary? I know this was possible on the X2 and the RAZR's.
I have the memory switch .zip file, but no way to install it on my rooted Droid RAZR M
I was curious how difficult would out be to just rename the internal storage from sd card to internal storage? If that is possible then we could just rename external to sd card then we should be able to move apps to the card easily.

Tried an app from the market and it seems working: GL to SD. need root access

nah. tried renaming them last week or so and it not only didnt work, the damn things renamed themselves upon reboot. im pretty pissedf about the memory on this phone cuz the phone itself is pretty snappy.
Dang I guess Motorola has this phone on lock down. I used my EVO 4g to copy songs over to my SD card and once I inserted it back in and tried to mount it, it kept saying blank, so I rebooted my phone and it showed up. If I wasn't as smart as I am I would have probably formatted the damn thing lmao I was wondering if they did that as a minor precaution to people trying to hack the phone with something on the SD card, but then again I'm sure if they did a reboot wouldn't have made it show up then.

So were you able to move anything other than game data to your ext sd? It let me move dropbox, but nothing else showed up on its list of transferable files.

Haven't u tried formatting ur sd card yet?the safest thing i can do for now is switch off my fone and unmount the sd card, i really dont want to format my sd now until i have my backup.and i also having a thought that this wasnt causing a bad sd card as you were saying.

Well when I updated my phone to 4.4.2 I did a full factory reset then formatted the SD card. I like to move what apps I can to the SD card to free up internal memory.
