For the past few years, I've suffered with a lot of you through this issue. After applying fixes that didn't work, I finally stumbled onto something with my EVO LTE. Root Call Blocker has a hand in this. After disabling it, my VVM worked as it should (stock ROM).
Just a heads up...

So are you running ASOP or stock rom?

For the past two years, it was AOSP on the OG EVO, but the problem followed me to my new LTE running stock ROM (rooted). The only common link was RBC, so I disabled it, and VVM works now (after trying a bunch of fixes that didn't work; different apks, voicemail reset, etc). I reenabled RBC, and the problem returned. So, with RBC being a bigger priority,I moved voicemail to YouMail and all is well...

Just to toss this into the mix, I've had this happen on stock Eclair as well (rooted but that's it) even. It only happens randomly/occasionally, but it does happen enough to be noteworthy.
I have since flashed back to stock 2.1 and have not had this happen at all. Overall my 2.1 stock experience has been fantastic with no little bugs or hangups that I experienced on DK28. Hopefully the eventual stock 2.2 doesn't have issues.
yes sometimes my texts are stuck on "sending" and wont go through until i reset the phone. but im rnning bonsai. i think the commonality here is the dk28. ****s buggy as all hell
I have added an issue to the bug tracker on cyanogenmod's website. If anyone else is having this issue with no voicemail notification, maybe it could be stared so they can work on it sooner?
It's issue 2801, I can't make a direct link to it.

Or maybe someone has found a way to get the voicemail notifications working on CM for rogers?
Thanks
Bringing back a dead thread, but wanted to know if you were able to fix this... I am experiencing the same on the latest MIUI.us build as well. Would really like to switch but am stuck using only a few ROMs including the Virtuous Sense Roms or Vanilla Roms. Would really like to know a fix..
Thanks
works on cm7 nightlies

Just noticed this today, and not that it is really a big deal more of just a weird thing. I am wondering if anyone has encountered this and if so if there is a fix.
I noticed the when i dial *2 I get a force close and it basically kills the phone, I have to reboot to get it performing right again. I don't get that if I dial *3 or *7 or any other number. Everything else works fine
I have made a number of enhancements to my Phone so any of them could of been the cause since I never use *2:
Recovery: RA 2.2.2
Rom: Stock 3.70
HBoot: 2.10
PRI: 1.90_003
Removed Proxy For Internet (Helped with Xbox Live)
Suspecting one of these might of broke it:
Kernel: 2.6.32.27 Netarchy-toast mod 4.3.1 bfs-havs-nosbc
Circle Battery Mod
Thanks
**Opps Looks like I Put this in General, I ment to Put in Q&A Sorry**
What rom are you using? There is an apk needed for it to work. iirc it's named sprint provider or something. It's usually removed as bloat.

I believe its espt.apk
It's called Sprint Zone

Something like that has happened to me a few times, and what has always fixed it for me has been to flash to a sense rom, go into the ##data# menu, and reactivate the data service. I don't remember the exact steps, but I can look it up if you need help.

Flash a sense rom, and call sprint. It sounds like either your phone needs to be reprogrammed or there is an outage in the area.
All right i'll try both. thanks guys
now yes i searched the threads and couldnt find anything.
on my nexus s that i just got recently, i cant type more than 160 characters in a message..it stops. on my evo shift for sprint, i could just keep typing and send long messages but the reciever would just get multiple messages. thats how it should be. now with out rooting and without downloading something like handcent, is there a way to send long messages ?
thank you.
Are you stock? What rom are you on.
