So, I am using MIUI 2.1.12 with LorDModUE 8.6 CFS 2WCR kernel.
I have installed 4EXT Recovery Controller and CurrentWidget.
With CurrentWidget, I monitored the battery while charging until it reached 0mA (which means the battery is as full as it can get).
With 4EXT Recovery Controller I removed the batterystats.bin file.
I drained the phone until it shut itself down. Then I charged it (without powering it on) until it was full (LED was green).
I power on the phone... 99% battery.
I plug in the charger... it says 26mA (which means it would reach 0mA as in full charge in another 20-30 minutes).
WHAT THE HELL?!
This never happened while I was using the default CM kernel included in MIUI. Only happened with Tiamat and LordMod.

Seriously, guys, what is the best way to calibrate the battery?! Perhaps I should not have let it shut itself down, but plug the charger when the phone was at 1% (which lasted for another 20-30 minutes, by the way)?!
if I don't remember it wrong the LED turns green at 90%.
afair the battery doesn't get charged during booting. which means that you probably lost the 1% during boot.
I also used the same method and got it calibrated correctly
but is their any other way too ?

The LED turns green on AOSP ROMs at 90%, when the phone is ON, as far as I know. When it is OFF, it works fine (goes green at 100%).
I want to hear from the developers / those that know how these codes work and stuff... Cause I don't want to look at my phone how the percentage goes down so fast, then, when it reaches 10%, I can play Pocket Legends for another 20 full minutes -.-

The battery doesn't charge to full capacity first time around. When I used to calibrate the battery I would charge until it was drawing 0mA, then reboot; it would be drawing about 26mA, so I'd charge to 0mA again and reboot; it would now be drawing about 15mA, so I'd carry on charging to 0mA, reboot, repeat, repeat and repeat until it eventually continued to draw 0mA after a reboot. Then I'd delete the batterystats.bin file.
As one of Google's engineers says, deleting your battery stats isn't going to improve your battery life. I haven't done any of that for a long time now and I've noticed precisely no difference (except for the extra time I've gained by not having to wait for it to finally charge up to full capacity).

I know about Google's statement.
The battery would drain fast, then, when it reaches 1% or 5%, you would be able to use your phone like it had 30%. Just that it shows the values wrong. Calibrating the battery should fix that...
Anyway... I'm not going to struggle any further.
I'll tell what I've done;
- I have installed Battery Balibration app and CurrentWidget,
- Waited battery charging till reached 0ma,
- Removed battery stats and restarted,
- Then waited to drain battery and shut-down itself,
- I connected USB charger to PC and TURN ON THE PHONE !!
- Again waited battery to reach 0 ma,
- Then plugged off and monitored that current widget shows the range btw 3-10 !!
I don't know exactly if it helps but, maybe you should turn on your DHD while carging..

Right, with Battery Calibration i have solved my problem with battery, now i can use all day without charging.
Sorry if my question is a silly one...
what's the point in calibrating your battery? I mean... except for the stats (and I guess, the percentage in the bar), do you improve your battery life by calibrating it?

Some says it's irrelevant, calibrating it's just an illusion
But did calibrate my battery and my battery life is improved too terrific !!

I don't really know. It would be silly for the Android system to display the battery percentage (up there, in the status bar) by reading the batterystats.bin.
My phone's battery level drops somewhat fast, then, when it would reach 30% or so, it doesn't drop as fast. Also, at times, when I reach 10%, 5% or even 1%, I am still able to play an intensive game like Pocket Legends for an extended ammount of time (30 minutes, for example). Pocket Legends is CPU/GPU intensive and it also requires an active Internet connection, so I'd say it's pretty power hungry.
I don't really get the entire purpose of calibration. I have done it and I can't seem to notice any difference.
I'm going to do it again, now, because I switched to a Sense ROM (RunnyDrOiD). I'll monitor the battery with Battery Monitor Pro. When it reaches +0mA, I'll reboot and so forth so forth until it's drawing 0mA, although I doubt I'll resist that much time, so I'll just delete the batterystats.bin after a few reboots, when it reachs 0mA.

If everybody knew the meaning of the word "calibration" then nobody would talk such nonsense.
Calibration improves the accuracy of the percentage shown!
The illusion is that you improve your battery life with it....

As I said... calibrating the battery may fix the "problem" where once you reach 1% / 5% you can use your phone like it still had ~20%.
I'm gone test it too...

It suppose to be a silicon case with a battery build in(1500mah ..not bad), I don't know the dimensions but I just someone might think it as a solution to our 1230mah small battery(with this you have a total of 1730mah which is plenty)
P.S. To mods.. feel free to delete my post, I just wanted to inform the people about a solution that might be handy

I really got frustrated with my CM7.1 defy.
The battery behavior very strange after I have done battery calibration.
My battery drain down from 60% left to 50% left in only 1 second, but meanwhile, the battery behave normal at other time.
Also, it is noticeable that, when I charge my battery, the battery jump from 87% to 100% in 1 second.
I have done the battery calibration in several ways which include wipe battery status in CWM Recovery, Using apps and deleting file from the system.
But the battery still behavior very strange.
After all these, I suspect my phone's battery have become somewhat fault or old, so I had replaced it with a new moto battery.
But the issue is still on.
If there is any solution, please tell me, I wish to deal with it without re-flashing my phone.

Try switching to the "smartass" governor. You can do this from the bootmenu. When the phone is off, under the smartass governor, it should enter deep sleep immediately. Also check out the following apps:
CPUspy -- well tell you how much the phone spends in deep sleep
BetterBatteryStats -- will tell you which apps have wake lock

i wish to know if someone could charge his defy+ to 100% with some of those fixes in froyo rom.
The thing is that some fixes charges to 100% BUT is not the defy+ 100%, those fixes make the phone use the battery like a normal defy one. But doesnt charge it to the real value in mV
defy full mv charge : ~4160mV
defy+ full mv charge : ~4320mV
So is there someone who using some fix could charge his defy+ to the REAL defy+ value? it doesnt matter if it says 100%, the thing is to check the mV.
The truth, to relate to your title, is in fact, that there is no fix that works for everyone...
I've read a lot on the original German topic for white rabbit, and the author Einsteinno tried to implement such a fix with a little help from his fellow beta-testers.
The conclusion was, that for almost everyone who tried any of the fixes another one or none worked... Maybe it's the build of their Defys, maybe bootloader or kernel or something else.
It seems you have tried a few and if none off them worked so far, you might have to wait a little longer...

after changing lots of rom i finally stayed some time on miui pikachu edition and i had the 83% battery charge.. then i tried with some fixes and it displaied 100% but the real value wasn't around 4300..
then i decided to flash a full sbs, charge my phone till real 100% and then install cm7 white rabbit! till then, i get always full charge!

I have got a fix I tried that some one tried on MIUI and they say it worked and as far as I know thats froyo based?? Any way give it a go but back up your original battd.bin (copy it to a SD card location) incase it fails so you can restore it.

I would guess that both batteries are fully charged at the same voltage ~4.2V - However you need to be carefull when you measure the voltage. Use a Multimeter and try to draw some current and measure while you do it I bet the voltages will differ.
The thing that differs on the batteries are the capacity (mAh), which in no way translates to fully charged Voltage. (lower than 4.2 does however say something about how much charge is remaining, but the discharge curve is pretty flat)
A battery charge circuit typically detects the fully charged capacity by measuring that the voltage no longer increases (and then continue to trickle charge for a while to get it fully charged).

On cm7 everyone gets full charge. Its the MIUI (Pikachu n WIUI) that has the problem

-Turned off it shows 100%, and when I turn it on, it shows 89% or so.

Now I'm charging it (turned on) and it shows 96% and 4146mV in BatteryCalibration (I understand this is ok).
I'm curious about it, and also a bit afraid of damaging my battery.

Hello all, I am a new comer here. I have a motorola defy plus mb526.
I've been switching between stock firmware android 2.3.5 and CM10 android 4.1.2 many times since I couldn't manage to make 3G/HSPA work properly (I had signal drops, lower signal strenght and no 3G at all, only HSPA worked well).
So after the 4th or 5th time I came back finally to stock firmware, I noticed my battery lasted less than 12 hours instead of the normal 48 hours duration I had before (both android 2 and 4, with even a slight advantage towards android 2).
My battery stats seem to point that my IDLE/Inactive phone consumed 35%, against only a 9% corresponding to the screen consumption. I am 70% of the time connected to WIFI, and sometimes I connect to 3G. It seems my phone is consuming a lot battery when IDLE.
Do you have any suggestions on how to diagnose this issue??
What I did until now:

First off, for the signal issue you could've changed the baseband from settings/advanced.
And for battery usage problem try a clean sbf flash and wipe data. Then install those apps only which you used earlier when battery life was good. If you get the same level of performance then one of the newer apps is messing with the deep sleep.
Also charge your phone for a couple is hours at 100% to calibrate battery properly

Thanks for the reply, I've been doing some tests and finally decided to go back to quarx CM10. I'm in argentina so 3G pretty much sucks. But i'm gonna have patience and try to make it work.
Apart from this, unfortunately, battery is still down. But I have a new theory. The same day I started experiencing low battery duration (plus the same day I overclocked the phone and flashed it), I removed the screen block (so there was no password or slide needed when turning the screen on), I think that could have been the reason behind the "Inactive/Idle phone" consuming more battery than the screen itself.
I have reverted this and battery seems to last longer (still seems far from the old 48 hours duration =*( ), plus the battery stats no longer report that inactive phone consumes more than screen.
I will be keeping on the diagnostics and hope its not the battery hardware but some crappy battery stats on my phone

Get setvsl, and change the battery usage... keep ur phone cool, check the temprature with battery solo widget
turn off data when not in use, us 2G if possible.. lower the brightness....

But you sound like you understood this happens since ever, while my statement is about this happening only since last device flash.
I bought a 3500mAh extended battery of ebay and it goes down to 1% way too fast. It's still at 3700mV when it reaches 1% and it will not turn off before it's below 3200-3150 (Another 6hours of active display at 100% brightness and 1,5hours of Stability Test). Fully charged (phone turned off, charged for 10hours) the battery reports ~4100mV.
According to a thread I started in Q&A, there is fix from Quarx already integrated in his ROMs, but it doesn't seem to work. (I use CM10 9/18)
How can I get my Defy to report correct percentages of battery charge? It would probably work if it calculated it from the voltage, wouldn't it?
