Hello Droid Pro users,
I have this issue with the data connection for over a week now. I don't know when it's started, I've installed 2.3.6 more than a month ago and other than it was eating up my battery (before the phone managed almost 2 days, after it's not lasting from morning to evening) I had no problems with the phone whatsoever. I was at the countryside with very low reception while mates from the same provider had good reception and the data connectivity was dropping a lot.
Ever since I've realized that the reception is bad and where the coverege is not optimal (eg Cities), I'm having problems with having a stable GSM coverage. But when I have a stable GSM, the 3G or HDSPA is dropping all the time. It's like this: connected for 10 seconds, unavailable for 2 minutes and again, and again....
The strange thing is that my provider sent me a text some days ago that I've used my data package (500mb) which I've never managed before with a lot higher usage! Something is definitely not right, I was doing a factory reset but no use, same problem.
Do you have any idea what it is? Has anybody else had the same problem?
Do you know if there is a data connectivity software on the market which is trying to analyse connection errors?
thanks
Shadoan
I think that you have some app that eating your data...
Facebook?
Dropbox?
I don't know...
You can use apptraffic and see wich apps are eating your data...
See the screenshot...
Why you don't change your rom?

Thanks a lot!
What rom should be better?
I've downloaded APP WATCH and the results are the followings:
1. Enhanced Email (Corporate e-mail)
2. Android OS & Others
3. Motorola Services
4. Streaming Media
5. Google services
The rest from here is not considerable. So it's not an app and again, I did a factory reset (to the 2.3.6 obviously) with no custom applications and it was still doing it.
If you have an idea which rom could be the best to use, I'd happy to hear. I thought 2.3.6 is the newest. I can change rom from an SBF file but I don't have that in-depth technical knowledge.
Thanks again!
I am using the latest releasre from cm7 and my battery life is very good. But let me qualify that statement; I have not unlocked the sim so it sis in airplane mode; live wallpaper running and connected to wifi 24/7. I took it off the charger 24 hours ago and have 72% left. I am in the process of figuring out how to connect this phone to a gsm carrier and will spend considerable time this weekend trying diif methods. It might be your battery. If you feel like throwing it against the wall, send it to me and I will put one of my batteries in it. If it works normal than you know its the battery. Ofcourse, I should probably just send you my battery so you could test it, since its your phone. Got anything for trade? I'll send you either this phone (mint) with battery or just the battery. I need a gsm phone that connects to tmobile or at&t. Interesting to see how this ends up:

Can anyone explain why I have 100% time without signal in cell standby. I used my phone all day sending texts and making calls. Also, the signal bar is constantly yellow on the battery graph. Should this be green?
Cheers

Confirmed. thanks. very random
Thanks confirmed that temporarily fixes the 100% The captivate did this as well when I had it but always showed 50 percent without signal and you could turn on airplane mode and turn it off to fix it. However that method doesn't seem to work for this but the about phone method does

Got my galaxy yesterday and I have this bug too. I was a little scared because on S1 it meant battery drain. When I woke up this morning I had 99% battery after 9 hours since charging. But I was still curious and thats why Im here.
Glad its nothing serious Hope it will go away when I finally choose a custom rom to flash...
EDIT: just noticed the last reply date, well sorry, found this thread through search. (Hey at least I didnt create a new thread asking the same thing!)
I am on 3g HSPda network, whenever I move from one place to another in car, I lose connectivity, the arrows beside H symbol in notification bar, gets fixed .. I cannot browse anything at that time. Sometimes this gets fixed by switching to airplane mode and then back on, sometimes I have to reboot. Data remains always stable if I stay at the same place. Also this doesn't happen always, but many times while I'm on the move.
Is this a normal problem with PPP/this rom, or am I the only one suffering from this issue (some rogue applications or something)?
Also, do anybody of you has some solution to minimize or solve this issue. Or any other ideas?
Note: I am using pongster's Hyperdroid CM7 ROM with seadersn's r9 kernel & I have CLK.
Here's how I get stuck, I'm really looking for a solution guys, please help

Try the *#*#4636#*#* under normal phone dialer. Go to phone information, look for data connectivity, change wcdma preferred to GSM auto prl. Reboot and see if that helps with clk related disconnects.
Or go to magldr version, much more stable on data for most.

Thanks for the answer scariola.
GSM auto prl will be Edge only, I will like to use 3G/Hspda ( I'm paying higher price for it )
Feeling sad if I have to switch to Magldr, I like few of clk's features .. charging while off, ROM Manager support etc.

I could swear that you will still get 3g connection, have even switched my own phone and great 3g signal.
You can always changed it back to wcdma preferred, I thought it worked better for reconnecting automatically on clk.
Magldr is pretty nice, switched back awhile ago, since I use wifi calling, its my only option.
have you tried flashing tytung's gps fix? also if you look at my threads, there's a detailed description of what to do if your not a fan of flashing lol cos im quickly realising alot of people do not like flashing or they do it wrong(NOT SUGGESTING U R 1)
+1. I too have the same problem. Tried *#*#4636#*##* doesn't seem to help. I was working very well until 3 days before. Suddenly there is no H.. Only 3H and E.. :-(
Looks like you missed this thread.
Hi Folks,
I have been suffering with abysmal battery life for the past couple of weeks since I got my device(910F). So much so that yesterday I rooted the phone just to get betterbatterystats to give me more information on what was draining the battery.
Low and behold it turns out bluetooth is the culprit. I have a moto 360 that I have paired with the phone.
Before I switched bluetooth off i had 2 kernel wakelocks occupying 88% of the time since i took it off charge (bluesleep & msm-serial_hs_dma).
As soon as I switched off bluetooth these wakelocks where immediately released.
Also when checking CPU states prior to disabling bluetooth no time was spent in deepsleep. As soon as I turn off bluetooth I'm now seeing 23% (and growing) of the time spent in deep sleep.
Has anyone else had this issue with their Note? Seems like bluetooth is keeping the phone awake and not letting it enter deep sleep.

I've the same problem whit my Note 4 (N910F). I've 3 devices constantly connected with my phone: LG G Watch R, Fitbit Flex and Xiaomi MiBand.
I've a custom rom: Emotion Revolution Note4 Lollipop based (BOB4 and BOC3 versions have the same problem)

I have exactly the same issue on my Sony Z3. Take a look to here. You'll feel at home!!
Did you find any solution workaround?
This things is driving me crazy.
It looks to not a very popular issue around XDA. Could it be an app? Hw problem?
My note 4 is on 5.0.1, and this just started yesterday. I always keep my Bluetooth on with great battery life. Today, however, my phone will not enter deep sleep until I turn off Bluetooth.
I cleared the data on the Bluetooth and BluetoothTest processes, and my problem is solved. Now, understand that I've been turning bluetooth off and on constantly as I use my hands-free device for calls and turn bluetooth back off to save battery, so something may started functioning properly along the way without clearing those previously mentioned data and caches. Either way, I leave bluetooth on 100% of the time again, and my battery life is again stellar.
I'm getting this bug in every Lollipop Phone I own. And sadly this bug seems to be present in the M Developer preview too.
Usually my day starts with wifi but as soon as I leave the wifi connection and start using 3G the battery starts to drain.
It has gotten so annoying that I switched back to KitKat and my phones are awesome again.
Present for me on Z3 and S4

I noticed this today. Was using WiFi screen was at about 36% use and Android OS at about 6%. Switched to Mobile data, And before 30 minutes, screen was at 28% and Android OS was 30%+
Crazy really! Don't know if a reboot would fix. Back on WiFi tho and it seems normal again.
The above comment was made by me, my friend logged into his xda on my phone and i didn't know, when i knew it was too late.
Basically every app that uses mobile radio keeps the connection active and drains the battery fast.
As seen in the battery tab with "mobile radio active" for hours.
At first I switched to lollipop I thought its just an "feature" but its the bad bug.
Especially for people who doesn't charge their phone for days because of light usage

I take it you are on CM now?
The Z3 is now .77 stock KitKat, the s4 is CM11 M11
Thats what it should look like:

so, overall, the power consumption in KK is way better than in L? [assuming similar usage]
cause i bought this phone already on L...
On WiFi it's as good as Kitkat, the problem starts when you have mobile data enabled, from what I hear the issue carried on into the test builds of Android M.
Phonearena even did an article on the issue, and it has the 3rd or 4th most votes on Google 's bug tracker yet it's still labeled as small priority... I hope Sony fixes it by itself somehow.
Hey everybody!
I have noticed some strange behavior with my TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS.
During the day, the power consumption is moderate and absolutely acceptable. However, the power consumption is significantly increased at night.
Looking for the cause, I found out with the help of Battery Historian that the GPS is obviously the reason.
When I go to sleep, I always turn on Airplane Mode on the watch to further limit all network activity and save power, and turn it off accordingly after I get up.
I have attached a screenshot from Battery Historian. I have inserted the vertical red bars as markers, when the Airplane Mode was activated or deactivated by me.
The process that activates the GPS seems to be Wear OS itself (com.google.android.wearable.app).
I had also already reset the watch to factory settings.
The first night, interestingly, GPS is only ever activated briefly. Whereas on the second night GPS is almost constantly active.
Before the factory reset, the GPS behavior looked similar.
So far, I had always left GPS activated on the watch, since I assumed that it would also be deactivated when Airplane Mode was activated. However, a look into the settings told me that this is not the case.
Ultimately, I do not understand why the watch wants to access the GPS constantly and almost permanently when Airplane Mode is active.

I've exactly the same problem. I was getting crazy as the watch consumed 3 time more battery overnight with airplane mode than during the day.
Maybe the problem is related to not having a connection to the phone. As far as I know, when the watch is connected to the phone, it doesn't use its own GPS. I assume there must be some internal process (like updating the weather) that tries to get GPS signal.
I'll try different setting combination on the next nights
Dear friends,
I came here for the same exact issue and I'm glad it is a known bug and it was detected.
I'm asking to the OP which is the app you use to have that battery stats. I need it also
Thanks in advance

I don't think the affected WearOS version is something we can really opt-out ...
