Here's what I got:
Baseband: p6800xxla1
Build number: htj85b.zsla2 p6800zsla2
Any ideas?

I get the same thing. I'm not sure if my radio is supposed to be ZSLA2 as well.
I installed the ZSLA2 firmware from the official firmware thread. The tab never finds any updates even though it did when I first bought it (was on ZSLA2 originally too) and Kies said it's not compatible with firmware updates.
I think the baseband version may be the same. Other than not updating officially, have you had any problems? Im surprised to uave gotten my device and it was already rooted, debloated etc. I pit cwm on it and backed it up first thing.... but have been hesitant to flash roms until I can successfully get this thing back to stock. Having trouble getting mms to work. In the US and had to import this model. Wanted it over the verizon version for telephonics and the original samsung processor.
To what degree does it matter what firmware version you use? Been reading through the firmware thread and have only found partial answers.

Hi there,
I have a real dumm question about the Galaxy Tab firmware upgrade.
My current version is like this:
Baseband version: P1000XXJID
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
Build number: FROYO.XXJID
Not sure about the PDA version. Is the build number the PDA version?
I know that I am quite far behind from the latest version and I'm wondering if the upgrading is worth while to try. If it is, my questions are:
1. The phone is unlocked and if I upgrade, isn't there any problem to keep unlocked?
2. What is the best version to upgrade of PDA and phone respectively?
3. Can I do it from JID to the latest best version directly?
4. Mine is German version but I'm using it in Canada with Bell. Anything that I have to keep in mind?
5. What is benefit of upgrade?
6. Simple guide for MAC OSX user or virtualization?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Install Samsung kies on your pc/laptop. It will update your tab to the latest official firmware for your tab's region (does not matter where your location is). You will lose root after it updates but that's about it. If your original firmware is for an unlocked set, the update will not suddenly lock it. I had to re-root using SuperOneClick again but that was it.

I am running jid and kies says it is up to date

Not sure why I'd need to install this to check for system updates. Wouldn't doing it through the Tab itself be sufficient?
No samsung dont do ota updates exept on the nexus s

Mine is blocked to portuguese operator TMN will it still update with samsung kies?
Hi bullyfrog,
After upgrade, which version you got and where did you buy the tab and where are you located?
Does the samsung kies updates anything regarding branded galaxy tabs?
HI! I'm a noob . I want to flash a custom froyo rom, im tired of waiting for official kies update. So I need the original firmware from samfirmware.com incase something goes wrong or i want to update via kies, the problem is i don't know witch one to download. I'm from Europe, Croatia, bought my phone in T-mobile, went to service store and removed sim lock.
This is what my phone says:
Firmware version
2.1-update 1
Basic version
I5800XXJG3
Kernel
2.6.29 root
Version number
ECLAIR.XXJG7
on samfirmware there is I5800XWJG3 and I5800XWJG7
official froyo rom was released in india a few days back.
you can download it from samfirmware and flash it with odin
firmware is i5801DDJP2
its not the point in the official froyo or any newer firmware. the point is my original eclair firmware, so when i need i can get back to ir
oh i misunderstood your question. sorry i have no idea about that
I5800XXJG7 is your firmware i think
To make sure: call to *#1234#. And look at pda

Sorry for being such a noob but I have never ordered a device internationally before. Anyways I have just rooted my device (SM-P605) and I'm curious what the latest firmware is because I don't believe I get OTA upgrades here in the States. Right now I'm running Android 4.3 on baseband version P605XXUBMJ4 and Build Number JSS15J.P605ZSUBMJ6.
Is there a newer version I should be using? Trying to check via the official bounces me to Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available.
Also, are there plans for Kit Kat in the future? Or perhaps there already is a mod that includes the latest version of Android.
MJ9 is the Latest i guess

This is why you can't get OTA updates - because you are rooted.
This is where you can get the latest firmware

Yes, but no release date is set, or known by us. Samsung said "soon".

How do I manually upgrade to MJ9? Do I need to un-root and flash to stock before doing anything. I also notice that my basebuild and build are running different numbers. How did that happen, is it a problem, and how do you fix it?

I'd also like to know if there is a specific version of the upgrade that I need to download. Region specific. I don't want to brick it. Will any download of P605XXUBMJ9 run perfectly on this device? Do I also need a certain file to upgrade the baseband?
Current specs:

downloaded, rooted (de la vega) and installed. Works perfectly. now would be interesting to know the change-log
I flashed the Italian ML1 and the note is working fine.

You will not brick it, in the worst case you'd have to flash it again with another CSC. CSC is the region of your device. For a close shot, forget about the country and either flash US firmwares if your device is US, or EU firmwares if your device is anywhere from Europe.
No, it is included in the firmware file. There is absolutely no reason to look for a baseband file (or RIL).
Unless your driver somehow got screwed, which usually happens when you install wrong, or badly matched kernels. In that case you will hear very disturbed sound (this error is very clear, if you get this problem, you know 100% that it is there. It isn't like "did i hear a scratch in my speaker for a second?").

Get Odin, get the drivers, read the instruction. Just the usual odin procedure.
You don't need to unroot/re-stock, but if you are very paranoid, you can use a custom recovery to wipe /system before flashing (don't do it unless you know you need it. If you don't - you don't need to do it. I am only telling you this because you might want it in the future when you try many different modded ROMs).
Baseband and build v. can differ, this is not a problem nor something you should worry about.

have u guys tried older firmware like mj2 or mia? if mj9 is hackable then older versions also likely can be hacked from what i learnt. but the question is, whether a bootloader downgrade is allowed/possible

do you know if there is any firmware for sm-p605 with multiple user support?
No there isnt. When KitKat comes we get Multiuser Support.
You can't downgrade the bootloader.
Flashing an older firmware that the bootloader doesn't support will end up with a tablet hanging on the samsung logo. Just need to reflash newer firmware to fix
Flashing a bootloader for another device - you might as well throw it off a highrise and hope it still works when it hits bottom...
P600 and P601 roms WILL NOT work with the P605. It's like trying to use helicopter parts to fix a car engine....
Hey all. I am in the US but bought international S7Edge when it came out. I dont know what firmware it had I think it was some italian one maybe. Then i rooted and started using custom roms. Then when nougat officially came out for S7Edge i un-rooted and went back to 100% stock using i think Vodafone 7.0 firmware. I think because i rooted i have a negative test response from Knox which i think stops me from getting OTA updates. It shows in software info that my OS version has security patch only from January 2017 so I am clearly not on latest firmware even though OTA says I am on latest.
Is there a site with a database of all firmwares out for the S7Edge international variant So i can find the latest and flash it to my phone since OTA wont get the latest.
samsmobile has the latest.
Yoiu still have an issue with your kernal as phone still thinks you have custom rom. Tripped knox on stock firmware will not stop OTA from downloading.
Hi!
Does anyone know where I can find the T387AAUCS3CUD1 stock ROM? I'm trying to fix a unit that I may have messed up by tinkering with custom ROMs.
Anyone?
Still nothing?
Hi also searching high and low for T387AAUCS3CUD1.
Any success finding it?
Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA) - Software Update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA) - AT&T
Get Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA) support for the topic: Software Update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA). Find more step-by-step device tutorials on att.com.
www.att.com
ATT is worthless - no support. OTA Android 8 won't update to Android 10. Says already current.
No luck yet :-(
Still no luck.
Someone recently gave me a SM-T387AA, came across this thread while looking for the latest firmware for the device. It does appear that T387AAUCS3CUD1 is the latest for the AA version, which I also was unable to locate. (probably because ATT uses their own servers for firmware instead of samsung) However, while searching, I also came across a newer version of firmware for SM-T387W.
Specifically:
AP VERSION T387WVLS3CVK2
CSC VERSION T387WOYV3CVK2
CSC VTR (Canada)
ANDROID VERSION Q(Android 10)
SIZE 2.62 GB Full Files
MD5 d3b07faf990e6b33b55f5f39839799e4
BUILD DATE 20221114152111
SECURITY PATCH LEVEL 2022-06-01
To my surprise, I flashed the 387W firmware on my 387AA with ODIN and everything seems to be working just fine. Still can't unlock my bootloader though. I see there's also a 387R4 variant. I might try that next, and will report back if I do.
Would this not though prevent a user from being able to use it on AT&T?

I popped in an ATT sim and calls/txt appear to be working.
Oh interesting, I wonder what the difference between the two firmware versions are then?

I used Bifrost. It can pull the latest firmware for most samsung devices that are hosted on samsung servers. Type in the model, "SM-T387W" and the CSC, "VTR", check for update and then download.
