[Q] keypad lock? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Are there any apps available that can lock out the buttons or change which button to wake the phone only.
I know i can lock the screen but when its in my pocket the screens keeps coming on and draining the battery. So maybe something that will lock out the front buttonts and wake only with the volume key.
Ive seen pocket lock and sensor lock but they're old apps and cant find an updated version.
Thanks

Here is a flashable zip file which will disable wake from front facing buttons. Make sure you have wake on volume enabled!!!! Or you will NEVER wake your phone
Install it just like you install any other flashable zip file in CWM

Thanks for that.

Theory, does the build has the volume keys wake the phone by default? If it doesn could you throw up a patch to disable it? I destroyed my battery life today on theory because I kept waking my phone in my pocket.

Whats up the the VVM? Are there any other options
other than Google Voice for AOSP ROM's such as this?
I utilize my VVM so much it doesn't make sense for me
to run anything other than ROM's that will run the apps.
What is stopping the Verizon VVM apps from running correctly
on AOSP?
The keyboard position on screen is jogged to the right. The "p " key is cutoff
Also, I cannot get into my wifi settings without force closing
Anyone else?

Yes. That one., it is comparable with ec09, and very east to use. You need to have adb and jdk installed (which you should anyway, if you want to do anything to your phone as a fail safe). There are a multitude of tutorials out there on that. But, if you need help, let me know.

Okay, so I figured it out, sort of. I connected my phone, pulled the framework-res.apk, changed the softkey look and remap, decided to remove the weather/ticker history while I was there, repackaged it, and made the flashable zip.
The problem is, once I've flashed it via CWM, my phone gets stuck on the verizon wireless animation during boot and shuts off. The softkeys are lit up, and I can see they are still the old original keys. Am I doing something wrong? It looks like my phone isn't working anymore as it won't boot all the way through.

Nope. Never got any errors. It said successful for everything I did. But regardless of what I edited, my phone always got stuck on the verizon animation and randomly vibrated from time to time.
I feel like there's some setting I overlooked... but I don't know what. Could you make some instructions for me or something? I literally have no idea what I'm messing up, and I really want some ICS softkeys haha

I thought maybe it was me using the wrong settings or something in TB101's Framework Maker, so I went to Cisco's theme thread and downloaded his EC09 ICS theme. But same problem... framework FC's. So it might be my ROM or one of my apps?

Are You deodexed? Go to /system/app using any root browser, and see if you have any files that say "odex" on the end. If so, you can't do any if these mods. You need to flash a deodexed rom.

Alright, so good news. I got Cisco's ICS theme up and running. Even though my ROM was deodexed, I thought there might be a problem with it, so I flashed pat's clean EC09 on top of it. Then I tried installing the theme, and it took on the first go. Thanks for all the assistance Tx!

Your ICS theme is dope, thanks for making it!
One question though, is AOSP lockscreen out for EC09? I noticed it's a modified puzzle lock, which is really neat, but I loved the functionality of silencing my phone from the lock screen.
Additionally, regarding the puzzle lock, I noticed the outline for where the puzzle piece fits is above where the piece actually needs to be to unlock the phone... any fix for that? Really a minor issue though, just wondered if it's something you knew about or something local on my phone!

I think I did a tutorial on how to change to aosp lock.
Before you do that though, go into /data/local and look for a file called "enable glass lock". If it's there, delete it. ciscogee's ics it's built on trailblazers mods, which include aosp lock.

you're not alone. I already post in aurora thread that sometimes when I leave the phone alone it selects my clock widget the rigth side of it, and drags it to the right of the home pages. all by it self or if I leave notifications bar open it selects the right icon.
and even weirder... when that was happening if tilt the phone to the left nothings happen. If I leave it leveled horizontal and vertical. it does that. LOL
but its just sometimes... I bet its aurora.

I had this problem once and it was a small garbage under the protective film I once installed.
If you have a protective film try removing it and see if it persists...
