Is there Windows XP 64 driver support for the Hiemdall frontend utility? The zdiag.exe has no WinUSB driver for XP64 but it does for Win7 x64.
This is regarding a Samsung Galaxy Tab SPH-P100.
:/ Guessing thats a no. Lame.
Xp x64 has horabke tools for making drivers for it I doubt they will make one sry

"[Q] Droid 2 Users using 32-bit(x86) or 64-bit?"
I'm trying to develop something that will help droid2 users but I need to know whether most people use a 32-bit OS or have a 64-bit OS. This way I can help the most people by starting on the one with the most users. Thanks for your input.
This is for any OS Windows or Mac or Linux.

If you have a 64bit you can run x86 so why not just make that version. <-- Windows at least
Anyways, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64
I thought about starting with that but because I'm running a 64-bit OS aswell I have to make the 32-bit product on a 32-bit OS so I'd have to do tweak it a little bit and was hoping most people were using 64-bit.
that makes sense.
32 bit is always the safest route to take because of the backwards compatibility of 64 bit OS with 32 bit executables. You are going to have to make that call though. If you want to reach the most people though, I would say 32 bit.

Can you shed some light on what you are creating? I am interested in this project. I can also host it for you if needed.
lol it has to do with linux and that's all I'll put out right now but I'll update as soon as I get further into it. This was going to be my test post because I want to start making it I just needed so guidance as to where to start.
That would be awesome if you could host (I'm new to dev stuff and was gonna ask for some help getting it out there).
not a problem. just let me know when you need it. I am currently working on acquiring a new domain so that it will host droid2 files and we can grow this section of the forums because the Droid 2 is lacking in the dev department lol
I'm new to d2 but facelessuser makes a good point. I'm intrigued...

This is just a heads up post
I'm almost done making a custom ubuntu 10.04.1.iso with adb and the sbf_flash script for linux install this will allow anyone to flash their phone in linux as it's a live cd and will be booted from the disk tray for a single session. No windows driver problems or RSDlite errors.
(it's in x86 if you were wondering; which was the main reason it's not already posted.)
I have an interesting problem.
I wanted to install clockwork mod 400MB partition and then CM7 rom on my HD2. I followed all the instructions carefully and tried multiple times, even i posted questions regarding clockwork mod on this forum. but nothing helped. I was using laptop with 64bit windows 7 on it.
At last i used my friend's pc which has 32bit windows 7 on it and followed the same instructions, same methods, and it worked.
Anybody has any idea about this problem??? Does 32bit and 64bit make any difference or i just got lucky?
Please help as I will not be able to use my friend's pc forever.
Thanks in advance....
64-bit drivers difference? There is a lot of problems flashing phones in 64-bit. And not only Android phones...

Where did you get that info? Do you have a link?
I'm using Windows 7 x64 (Professional and Ultimate) and they both work fine for me... on my Mac, that is
Sincerely,
Mac
@jalshah05:
I don't know it's a way. Try looking for x64 word on forum (not only HD2 - all Windows Mobile forums should be good) - sometimes it's just drivers/update (of Windows Mobile /or however ActiveSync is named in 7/).
And be sure to have Administrator rights!
@Macelangelo77:
No link in hand. But belive me - I flashed a lot of WinMo, Android, Symbian and (1) Maemo (N900 ). I read lot of posts saying: "I did everything like in tutorial but it doesn't work! I have Windows (XP/Vista) x64". There is just a lot of incompatibilites between x32 and x64 version of Windows (specially in XP)...
Nevermind. Now I just cant install the sdk because it says the jdk isnt installed, though it definately is.

Here's the link to the motodev site's driver page, you can find them there.

thanks for the help all. rooted and overclocked at 1.5ghz on my wifi!
I agree competely
I've searched the forums but couldn't find any guidance for installing the drivers on Windows 8. I've downloaded the all inclusive drivers and tried manually installing them but they are unsigned so Microsoft would not let me install them. If anyone knows of a way, I'd really appreciate it.
Worked for me on Win8
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996051
you have to disable the driver signification to install the drivers
http://laslow.net/2012/03/14/disable-driver-signature-enforcement-in-windows-8/
I am also using Windows 8 and for me it seemed as the drivers that came with the android-sdk where properly signed, because I had not to disable driver signifaction before installing them...

only if you run a linux virtual machine on it
@Akash sky
There was a program featured few days ago on portal. I think it was called Buildubuntu. (Basically it is a virtual machine, but unlike VBox it needs x64 host machine)
