I rooted P7510 using the guide on galaxytabhacks.com, then flashed Starburst ROM and the 3G function has disappeared, along with all mention. It's like a WiFi only tablet. I then flashed a new ROM and nothing has changed. Can I turn 3G back on?

Hi,
I have WIFI only Galaxy Tab 7" original. I read around forums that I CANT use roms because they are for GSM version, is that true? What rom can i use then?
My tab started acting weird last months, slow, irresponsive, apps FC
I'm currently using the Overcome ROM. Yeah it was weird last month the tab started freezing alot so I finally went ahead and flashed a Overcome ROM over it and I have not looked back since.

Do you have the wifi only version? Overcome's website states their ROM will NOT work on the tab if it doesn't have a sim card. If you did indeed install it on the P1010 version, please post more details. Thanks

Are you sure sure sure you have Galaxy Tab WIFI only P1010 version rather than SIM card P1000 ? Because everywhere I read no custom roms support WIFI, and WIFI doesnt have any custom but only original ROMs
I wondering the same!
So I got this tab from a friend for free and need to make it better.
First I need to figure out the teems I'm reading in development. I see things like p4 and p4wifi. According to my settings this is a GT-P7510. Does that = a p4wifi?
Second I know how to root (have a GS3) but not sure which rom is the one I want. I'm thinking of going to JB, but I've read something about updating the boot loader. I haven't seen any threads on that though.
Any help you could give would be great.
Yes gt-7510 = p4wifi
And if you want jelly bean you need to flash the newest recovery. You can find them all with instruction on this site: droidbasement.com
En welcome to the club bro

To upgrade bootloader, you could use Odin to put a stock 4.0.4 rom on it and then flash the latest CWM to flash CM10.

You don't have to upgrade it to use CM10, but it helps.
Also new to the galaxy tab (but familiar with flashing roms, kernels, etc). I see 2 development sections, so what is the difference between 10.1 and 10.1v. Thx guys.

If I remember that far back the "v" was an early model, very thick different camera specs and processor speed. As soon as the 10.1 came asking in June 2011 the v sank without trace.
To answer OP am running AOKP jellybean 4.1.2, rock solid, snappy and vanilla android if that's your thing.... tis mine as I run Gnex's as well. Love it!
Sent from Galaxy 10.1 I/O running AOKP 4.1.2 Still going stronger and faster than yer average tab!
what's the difference between v1.0 and v1.2? I'm new to the Galaxy and want to flash ROM's. How can I tell which one I have? thanks

I forgot to do a backup before I installed CM 10.1. The install was successful but I would now like to go back to stock so I can use the GPS. Is there somewhere that I can get a stock rom or reset back to the default?
My phone is a U.S. Cellular S4 (R970).
Thanks.

Thanks. I was hoping for a faster download rate but oh well.
I recently installed cm10 on my new s4 but the 3g speeds are really slow. WiFi is slow too. I saw a forum with the same problem with the HTC one. They said it was a problem with the baseband. Any help would be great because I'm not a huge fan of the stock os even though the internet runs great on it.
anyone know of any basebands that work. I would appreciate any help

You could always try to go to a Touchwiz Rom, update the prl and profile, and then flash back to cm10. I've heard that can speed up data a bit
You also could try flashing the MDL modem with Cm10...that might help as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338919

I don't think updating in the stock rom will have any affect since the internet on the stock rom runs fine. It's only after I install cm10 that the internet starts to bog down.

I did the odin thing and now my stock rom can't use wifi. When I enable it it says an app is trying to get certain permissions and wifi immediately gets disabled. It tells me to reboot the phone and I do so and same problem occurs. I did come to find that when on cm10 the internet does work but the play store and pandora only work on wifi. I get connection errors on 3g with those two apps.
Try to flash a custom kernel or flash a different AOSP ROM.

Not sure why the kernel would affect it. I was trying to find an aokp version that would work for sprint but couldn't find one.
It could help the WiFi issues because when my WiFi wouldn't work I flashed a custom kernel and it would work.

Oh you mean for the stock rom? I don't want to use the stock ROM if I can get the play store and Pandora working on cm10. The stock ROM is saying its a security issue and not just an error with the WiFi so I don't think that would help. The problem started after I installed the modem in Odin.
For both I also recommend checking out that ROM it seems like what you want in a ROM customization, AOSP, and the stabability of CM. Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2312063 if not check the original android development section it is filled with great AOSP roms similar to CM or better.

There is many cases that aosp roms/kernals have slow data speeds. The epic 4g touch was one. All aosp or touchwiz roms with non stock kernal had poor data speeds. This phone may be different. Im running tw rom with kt kernal and data speeds are the same. The prl/profile thing is huge not being able to update it in aosp can cause problems.
I installed pacman ROM and the gapps and Google play immediately stops working and a message pops up every 5 seconds and the internet won't load. I got Google to load once and that was it. I had to switch back to cm10.

Awesome thanks.
Not sure what happened but the error is back
I rooted my phone using CWM and flashed TriForceROM a few months ago, and everything was wonderful till about a month or so afterward, and now at random when it's idle it'll crash? I'll go to unlock it, the Menu and Back buttons on the bottom will flash, and then I'll have to wait a few minutes and press the power button (sometimes a couple times) and after vibrating once or twice it'll boot up to the Samsung splash screen.
I managed to do some research and found it might be just because it's rooted, but since the problem didn't start until a good bit after the root I was thinking maybe (hopefully) it's something else? Any ideas on how to fix it?
Any help appreciated ^_^
I will assume you are running KT's kernel because that is a known problem for some people on his kernel.
Reflash Tri force and choose change mods. Choose stock and all will be well.

I might have, I don't think I went in and changed much. I'll do that. Thanks!!
Just checked (remembered you can look at the kernel through settings. D'oh), and it is indeed KT's kernel. Yay for being able to fix it and still have the ROM!
