Buzzing sound after rooting - Nook Touch General

After rooting i hear a constant buzzing sound if i get close to my nook. Anyone else experienced this?

Is it faint? Or loud? The nook has no speaker. It could be the screen refreshing.

it's really a faint one

I put the nook on the side of my head (listening to a "book"...) and I hear the screen refreshing and then silence. Didn't even know that made that sound. Interesting

Yep, just the screen refreshing.

Headphones Distortion / Background Noise

Hi - just wondering if anyone else noticed some background noise / distortion when using headphones on the tab 7.7.
Happens when playing any sound and continues for 2-3 seconds after it stops. Tested with the stock buds and some replacement buds I picked up a few days ago. With my over the ear headphones I can't hear it though. Easiest way to test is just by playing a movie and pausing it.... there is a hissing noise for a few seconds afterwards.
Maybe related: even with headphones plugged in, notification sounds come out of the speakers - this is my first Android device so I'm not sure if that's normal or not.
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if it might be hardware related. Thanks!

Yeah I get that too. Doesn't really bother me though. I mean, it's not like I can still hear it while playing music or anything...
Mine's pretty noticable, even when playing music/videos. Weird that it's totally quiet with my over-the-ear headphones

Personally, I only really notice it if there's a trailing silence from music or videos, but while there's actually sound, I can't detect it.

[Q] Cracking sounds from speaker?

I have two brand new Nexus 4s, both of them has this annoying random crackle from the speaker in the midst of other sounds.
For example when typing, I'll hear the regular sounds, then a couple crackles. Same for getting a notifications, sometimes a little crackle before the sound. It isn't distorting, but resembles than sound a little.
Anyone else getting this as well?

[Q] Is anyone else getting a faint noise from the ear speakers all the time?

So I am getting this buzzing/hissing sound from my ear speakers. It is only noticeable when I hold it very close to my ears in a quiet room. But then it is quite easy to hear. The sound changes all the time. The frequency is different and there is a click sound every second or so.
It doesn't matter if the screen is on or if the phone is in stand-by. A restart didn't help.
I have never noticed this before so it might be my manual update to stock 4.3 that caused the problem. But it might have been there before the update.
It is not really bad because you only notice it when you call someone but it might eat up my battery.
That's normal and not even exclusive to your (our) phone
It's caused by electrical noise

[Q] Static coming from earpiece speaker

Just noticed this, if the screen is on there is static noise coming from the earpice speaker, its not that loud though.
Same if the screen is off but its alot more quiet.
Anyone else experiencing this?
EDIT: So I googled a bit more, and looks like alot of N4 suffer from this problem

its not normal but its very common in the nexus4, it was one of the criticism when it was released, I can still hear mine after 1year, I haven't noticed it till you brought it back up.

Odd, extremely faint sounds coming from inside of S4

So today I was in the living room with no one around or other noise, and was talking on the phone laying on my side and just having the phone lay on top of my ear. When the conversation stopped and the person on the other end hung up, I noticed that there was some very faint buzzing noises coming from what appears to be the inside of the phone.
I did some experimenting and found that when my phone is on, there is a buzzing/humming noise that's really only audible from the earpiece speaker. The closest thing I could compare the sound to is a hard drive reading or writing data. Right after turning the screen off, the buzzing/humming changes to a higher-pitched crackling that has alternations (like some computers where you plug headphones in and can hear buzzing whenever you move the mouse or do something). About 5-10 seconds with the screen of it turns to a solid high-frequency whine (like what you get with some USB wall charger bricks, but actually more comparable to something like the tire squeal of a car doing a burnout).
Has anybody ever witnessed this? These are quite high-frequency and VERY faint sounds so some people might have it but not be able to hear it with their ears themselves, but it's just something that I noticed.
I hear it too, it's so cool to hear the raw processes taking place within a microchip! Nothing like it at all.
