SGT7 is the custom ROM by the guys who brought ICS/CM9 to the OG Galaxy Tab
Initially it supported only the first tab, but now we've decided to support other tablets as well, so here it is!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>

* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*
*/
It's based on CyanogenMod 9, and will continue being to be so.
In short, it's a heavily modded CyanogenMod for tablets, fully opensource

Also available via Goo Manager
Installation and bugs are also same as CyanogenMod 9, so read the below linked threads as well :

Since neither of us has the device personally, the builds are untested, and we rely on you, the users, to help us.
Report anything wrong with the ROM, and what you'ld like to see in it.
Report issues here : http://code.google.com/p/sgt7/issues/list
(Do not report device-specific issues, i.e. stuff not working on CM9, report only stuff that you saw as a setting and didn't work as expected)
Lastly, thanks to the CyanogenMod team, for all their work, and thanks to the guys who ported ics to this tab.
It's just meant to be an addition of tablet specific tweaks to CM, and we might look forward to merging this functionality into CM later on, but for now, have fun with this.

I'm also wondering what are the heavy tablet-specific modifications mentioned at OP. What makes this different from pure CM9?

Nope, you still have to use soft decoding
Tablet Tweaks
Here's some screen shots of the some of the tablet settings and customisation settings.
Thanks for your Screenshots. What is the meaning of "eanble physical keyboard". I have a Samsung keyboard and the regular CM9 has only an english keyboard layout. But i don't have to activate something?!
That's a good question lol
I assume it's for devices with a hardware keyboard built in, if it's like the setting on phones then it toggles the hardware keyboard on and off so you can use a soft keyboard.
Very good rom. Thanks
According to Dice Player it's using HW acceleration on playback, I played a 720p video fine with no stuttering or sound problems, that was even over a G wifi network, I have Motley v2d installed and mount my film and tv folders off my media server as drives on the tab using cifs manager.
I'm not getting any crashing in the browser of gmail now after doing a couple of wipes, which is a bit odd considering I wiped everything when I first installed, so probably more a freak than anything to do with the rom.
All in all it's excellent, everything I have thrown it's way has worked flawlessly

New Version up!
Basically just changed everything to English (thanks to tazz for letting me use his files), and added speed tweaks (png optimize = speed & reduced rom size, zip align = less ram used when ran, and a kernel tweak at /system/etc/sysctl.conf that really improves speed, details can be found at the link in the original post.) rom is a little slow at first (syncing and stuff) but once by the second boot and an over clock it was flying. Also attached pictures focusing on the froyo changes to the post, and updated the post.
Thanks for all your work

I can tell you that the latest version is running pretty smooth for me, the UI just seems faster and I can run the Chrome Beta which I couldn't even load up using MeDroid. HWA even at this early stage is giving my N1 a whole new life.
Very promising ROM but far too buggy for me to leave MIUI for it. :/
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
I flashed the P9 release yesterday (my first ICS release)... pretty smooth in general, Quadrant scores are not far behind the scores I had with CM7.1 (998 with evervolv P9 VS 1039 with CM 7.1)...
Got the same issues as stated in the "not working" section, plus the clock crashes (to set alarms) but that could be just a question of wiping cache/dalvik again.
Coming from CM, I miss all the customizations options in this ROM. Dont get me wrong, texasice did a fantastic job with the ROM and kernel development, especially in figuring out the HWA part...
But I will surely try MeDroid Remix (as soon as it's new release with HWA comes out this weekend) to see what it offers... looking at samuaz's thread, it looks a lot more customizable and coming from CM, it might be just what I'm looking for.
I will surely donate to both texasice and samuaz as well for a fantastic job done on their part, otherwise, we'd be probably stuck with Gingerbread forever.
I know plenty of much newer phones than ours that don't have a mod that can run chrome properly.
That said, if people are playing around with older (more stable?) versions and want to give some of the reboot fixes a try, look up market id com.jrummy.sysctl.config to set the memory without the new kernel or messing with scripts.
A lot of the CM stuff you might be used to is available from other programs. I mostly miss the brightness hacking and night mode filters, but I found a separate program that can make my screen dimmer to use as a night mode. The way the notification toolbar works is slightly different too. And Trebuchet is nice, but not that much different that I can tell.
I have an issue with p4 through p9.
I used trackball wake on build p3 it worked like a charm, but now when I press the trackball, pwr or vol buttons, the soft buttons are lighting but the screen remains black, I have loaded p4, p6, p7, and p9. All Roms work fine initially and appear trouble free up until the phone goes to sleep. After the phone goes to sleep the screen won't wake no matter what I do.
I have tried several SD cards, tried to turn off wifi, tried to change swap sizes from none to 256.... Not sure what else could be causing this???
Any ideas anyone?

So I got my phone running on the latest p11 finally. It works great, has been running for days, no reboots, pretty fast and seems stable so far... AND battery life has been awesome!
What I found was the CWM recovery was jacking my sd card when I partitioned it. I tried 4EXT recovery and all has been well after that.
No obvious issues other than camera preview...
Sometimes while on call the mic stops responding.. People calling me are not able to hear me..
I'm running p11 and not facing any other issues except the known one like camera preview etc ...
Anybody else facing similar issue?
*le bump*

I just installed p13 today, it seems to work fine. The interface is a bit sluggish in places, for example Google Play is quite slow, and buttons don't always respond immediately. Is that normal for this rom?

Thanks, I tried the 0314-kernel and got slightly better results in the Quadrant benchmark (1004 as opposed to 937). But it didn't make a noticable difference in interface responsiveness.
It's not dreadful, but just not nearly as good as FroYo. But I'm not gonna expect any better since this is just a community work-in-progress rather than an official release.

This is an early release preview of things to come, we are 99% functional hardware wise, but there is still a fair bit of work to do under the hood.
CM10 is still in early stages of development, but, is progressing at a rapid pace... Things will be broken & not all features from CM9 have been ported (yet).
Expect some weirdness, breakage & other things.
In an effort to keep this thread form being derailled like the other Jellybean thread, lowsum has started a thread for user discussion in general... I will be monitoring that thread too.

Though more monkeying with it shows certain patterns, such as only interacting with the lower thumbnails causes tearing. Probably related to how the UI redraws. Will attempt to get logcat.

Sorry for the slow progress.
I got as far as the "insert coin" animation and then it just looped there. (Not a true bootloop, just stuck at that point with the animation still looping). However, I then tried to flash back to my previously working rom and saw roughly the same behavior, so I'm not completely convinced that the wipe/factory-reset option in the current recovery images is working entirely right.
So, I'm back on pure stock firmware and planning on doing a full sony/google style wipe everything including the internal "sdcard", and trying again from a known clean slate. If I can reproduce the same behavior, I'll call it a bug and send logs. If not, then hopefully I'll have better news.

So, I'm back on pure stock firmware and planning on doing a full sony/google style wipe everything including the internal "sdcard", and trying again from a known clean slate. If I can reproduce the same behavior, I'll call it a bug and send logs. If not, then hopefully I'll have better news.

Ok, thanks man.. Did you flash GAPPS after the ROM though?
If factory reset is not working, you can just wipe the /data partition. That should be enough...
There is an issie with C6902 Models. Somehow they have issues booting AOSP based roms like CM etc.
I'll flash it today. Sorry for the delay Jeroen.. I'm making a web shop for my uncle so don't have a lot of time at the moment. But today I'll flash for sure

OK, I did another install and it seems to be working this time.
Camera is non-functional, I'm sure that's no surprise.
The logs show "LLC length mis-match" repeatedly, although other roms I've run on the Z1 do the same.
So far, everything else seem to be working, but there are quite a few options to run through. I'll try and test out as many features and see if anything else pops up.
For the record, this is on a c6903
I've been living with this rom for a couple of days now, and haven't found any serious issues.
Pie menu works great. Hybrid engine seems fine with various combinations of dpi and layout. The various navigation bar and status bar tweaks seem to do what you'd expect. Same with the power toggles. Haven't delved into halo or gesture settings yet.
I've found that the camera issue is a bit more annoying than I expected, even though I wasn't planning on taking any photos. I know we're all still waiting for a real camera fix, but the "partially working but still buggy" state of the camera in a few of the other roms has been good enough for things like face unlock, qr code scans, etc. I guess you don't realize how much you use that stuff until it's gone.
The hardware info section of the settings seems to be missing a few values, although that appears to be purely cosmetic as all the hardware seems to work fine apart from the cameras. Phone, bluetooth, wifi, gps, etc. all seem fine. I haven't yet tried out some of the more esoteric hardware features (mhl, miracast, etc.)
Fwiw, Antutu is showing lower scores than the last couple of roms I've tried, but that should of course be taken with a grain of salt. (Lies, damn lies and benchmarks.)
I'll report back if anything else pops up.

Thank you for reporting!
Can you also post this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2478003
The ROM has been released officially and an update has been released yesterday!
Thanks for testing!!!
Since I did not see a thread for the us nor do I see a development thread I thought I would let you guys know that M1 is released for us.

Tried the 6-12 nightly and find that the USB-OTG is not working.

I cannot download the recommended GApps from CM wiki for some reason. Would someone mind posting the 11/19 GApps please?
Thanks all,
D

Yea it didn't work for me either. I just Googled and used http://d-h.st/mDt
Still i i don't find a reason to jump from stock to CM. Google updates are ahead right now, rom is smooth fast and stable, cm is not feature complete yet.

Just personal preference. CM offers minor tweaks that are not available in Stock for some reason. Why don't they have a battery % is beyond my understanding.

battery % is very small reason to jump right now, im fine with battery % under quick settings. I don't find it useful when you have a 4.000mAh battery but that's just a personal preference as you said.

Here are some other things I appreciate in CM versus stock:
Custom tiles with touch and hold functionality
Expanded desktop
Configurable LED notifications
Advanced Power Menu
New Lock Screen options
Built in updater for nightlies
Flashed it on my N7 and N4 and it's stable. I noticed one minor but, it didn't restore my WiFi and wallpaper and start auto downloading apps after I logged in. Someone said that's because of the 0 day PA gapps I used. I've used the same one before and didn't have the issue so I'm not sure who's at fault here.
Haven't noticed any other bugs. No random reboots/app crashes, phone breaking bugs. I love it for all the tiny features. Hold vol buttons to forward, quick toggles, reboot menu etc.

Stock is more stable, and all custom kernels work
Ooc, is ART working in CM?
Nexus 7 LTE
Stock rooted KOT49E
Faux Kernel
In Google+ someone said ART works.

You can get most of that by using xposed and still run stock with nexus updates. I understand running cm on a device that does not get updates like a nexus.

Yeah, but waiting for Google to bug fix anything can take weeks if not months, with CM it can get done within hours/days.
I am using this and and seems great. Haven't had any issues at all other than the exact same MX Player issues that I was having on stock.

As far as i remember CM11 had to be ironed out and not the official rom. In the beggining video playback was broken, then notification bar was flickering then wifi didn't work for some. Look at CM thread in other forums, 137 pages for CM11 in i9100 forum and only 12 pages in Nexus 7 forums. When people starts to feel bored with stock then they will jump to CM11 until PA comes out and then everybody will jump to PA:silly:

Same here, camera opens slow.
USB-OTG doesn't seem to be working too.
Currently using the 19-12 build.

Yeah I've had all sorts of issues with otg
UPDATE
I Fixed, my otg issue. I flashed elementalx and made sure I didn't have the fast USB charging feature enabled. That seemed to do the trick for me. I hope others will have the same success.

I also wondered why there wasn't an Official thread. I am running the 12/30 nightly now.. seems pretty good. I am still trying out all of the functions. I also just bought the tablet today.
