Looking for a Rom w/ 4g - EVO 4G General

Hello folks
It is time for me to upgrade my RoM to something newer and hopefully better.
My current Rom is from the Infected: virus, about a year old.
it is very important for me to have the following working:
4G
working camera
GPS
I do not care if it is Sense or AOSP or whatever the new/trendy thing is now.

MikG i think by far the best rom 4G works perfect Camera also basically everything beside the bluetooth that acts up from time to time its by far the best rom in my opinion

Definitely the classic. It's gotta be the snappiest rom I've ever used. It's my got to rom when others are that good

Definitely MYN's SYNERGY (non-God-mode)!!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144447

Haven't seen AOSP mentioned. Decks GB ROM has what you want, so does CM7.1 and 7.2. Another one I can't think of.
sent from my Evo LTE, usually.

noob question
what is AOSP again?
HTC Sense is the stock feel to it
AOSP is with go-widgit and stuff like that???
senseless = AOSP or completely different?
thx in advance and being patient with me

Check out cyanogenmod...you will not be disappointed ...they develop for almost every device..throw in savaged-zen's kernel and bam! Great performance and battery life all in one!

HTC sense is a overlay or launcher they have put on top of android. Aosp or Android Open Souce Project is vanilla or stock android.

this ... with the specs of the e3D the phone would blaze .
but i do like my sense and sense 3.0 is crazy
As soon as CM7 hits the 3d, I'm all over it.
I like Sense a lot. I have tried a couple other roms and different launchers, but end up going back to sense. I ran my evo stock for about 6+ months before rooting. Prob won't wait as long on the 3D but def sticking with sense.
Ill rock sense for awhile. I like aosp and especially cm7, but I am currently using calks evio2 and everything just works. That's the best thing about stock or stock baser roms - everything seems to just work. I like that.
Tapa tapa tapa
Until sense uses better Bluetooth drivers that allow my audio to sound good to my car, sense isn't even an option. Cyanogen uses the default Google drivers which sound flawless.

Fans of CM and AOSP will have to port LG ROM or something like that to have the 3d options...
I flashed to AOSP for a brief period of time, but Myn's sense rom made me stop flashing other roms. I love HTC Sense and sense 3.0 will be amazing; there's nothing like the design and functionalities that come with it.
I am probably going to keep it stock for a long time. I have tried all the roms for the Evo and I always end up going back to stock. It seems like all the roms eventually start to slow down.

I agree with this , except with Myns I used Calkins Remove sence , installed ADW Ex , Flashed a GB appearence zip (added a few mods myself) and made kind of a sensless GB Myn's rom . Smooth and very battery friendly . I tried the AOSP's out there but kept getting plagued with high OS usage after phone calls . Tried all the fixes but nothign ever corrected it . So Myn's RLS5 is where I will stay .........for now LOL
Stock for me. Atleast for a while. Isn't Bluetooth supposed to be better?

CM7 vs all other GB roms, opinions

I have ran evervolv in the past but have been running the latest versions of CM7 for about 4 months, I love all the customization options, but I do get some quirks, and random reboots etc.. occassional lag
I am wondering what you guys would recomend as far the fastest and most stable GB rom
Evervolv? Evo deck? MIUI? etc?

CM7 is ok, kernel that comes with it is horrible though. Nightlies are better than their stable release.
Deck has been extremely stable and I've had zero hiccups with it. Basically identical to cyanogen.
I agree with cares deck is extremely stable I really like it
but I love miui look

Deck is awesome, much faster/reliable than CM has ever been for me. Though after moving to an area with no 4G I switched to MIUI and I absolutely love it.
Deck's is without question the best for my phone. I've kept it running longer than any other ROM.

Try again.
I'd love to use MIUI but the no 4G on it is a deal breaker Deck's has been a lot faster and stable than CM was for me on my Evo. I'd skip CM all together and just try Deck's if you want an AOSP ROM.
From my understanding Deck's is CM7 with everything stripped out except for EVO specific features/kangs. That may or may not make it faster, I dont know because Ive never used it, but that is my understanding of the difference.
I rock CM7 Nightlties...I get at least 1day 5hrs minimum now...lol
+1 to decks ...Neva had had reboot on it and GPS works flawlessly

Not necessarily true, it is majorly based off of CM7. If you read the post for the deck rom it has other things pulled from other GB rom's as well. It's certainly not just a "renamed CM7" because it works for me a lot better stability wise. He has also fixed a lot of things that CM7 hadn't. Not knocking the CM team whatsoever because we wouldn't have Deck's if it wasn't for them.
What ever helps you sleep at night........
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Just to add my two cents... I run cm7, I enjoy the bloat and custom settings. No, deck is not cm7. A lot of roms use stuff from cyanogen just because he and his team do so much work. However you have to give credit to Deck for his rom being a compilation of his own. Like it was said read the opening post for his rom and you will see.
If you want super clean basic gingerbread that you can do whatever customization you want go with deck. If you want gingerbread that has been tweaked and had included tweaks options go cm7.
I will give props to savaged zen here as well. Very similar to cm7, but not the same! I love the included kernel tweaks, no need for script but less customizable. It is awesome that a Dev would include a custom kernel specifically built around their rom.
Honestly we have such awesome choices for gingerbread and they keep getting better. Try them all and find out which suits your needs best.
EVO 0003, CM7 stable, Tiamat, Vipermod, V6 Supercharger.

to OP:
I've been trying a lot of roms lately too. For AOSP, go with Decks 1.2. Its lightweight, fast and pretty awesome. If you want sense, do a search for Synergy Nightlies and you'll find what your looking for. Another good alternative is MikG 2.0
I've been rocking Deck since the pre release of 1.0. But in the last couple of weeks have been trying out the Sense 2.1+3.0 hybrids. After flashing MikG/Alliance, I haven't really had the desire to go back to AOSP.
I've had CM7 for awhile and today i had an important place to go to but the GPS was so spotty i couldn't get to it and i read this post and decided to flash Decks and i gotta say the GPS works flawless and the stability is just superb.

Well, look at MIUI-Galnet, they HAD to move away from XDA because of their donation schemes (Something to do with new devices) I think with Oxygen & DevNull it's just an agreement with the CM7 team since Oxygen is the same just a different framework. Not sure really.
But, all in all, I prefer AOSP always have, it's what I miss about my Nexus S & One basicalle

Not entirely true, the reasons Adamg moved away from XDA were the lack of moderation here and the 'dumb' questions being posted here. Those are also the reasons most devs move away here...

i totally agree! but my "problem" is, the SGS2 is just so freakin fast, i never had any speed issues on the stock rom and battery life isnt very different.... i WANT to use oxygen, but with this phone i would just get less features (no ukw-radio e.g.) :-/
(and if i dont want some crap/bloatware, i just remove/freeze it with titanium)
totally different story on other phones, Oxygen on my Desire was a total game-changer, just unbelievable what a difference it was compared to the stock htc rom!

Yes, this is the funny thing that I ended up using a Samsung ROM (Cognition) after trying all the other options simply because it is fast as well, but has all the extra features (most importantly - for me - the wide video format support and the hw accelerated browser). It seems that Samsung is the first manufacturer that finally starts to get the hang of cooking a functional and fast ROM .
I am using this rom and I think it is simple, fast, good on battery life. I will keep it for a while. Thanks to Adam and the poster.

The one that has worked best for me is the Community Rom. I wish it came with the old lock screen as an option though. Thats my only prob with it.. other than that, it's been the most stable of all that i've tried!
The most stable ROM is FROYO stock. But that's probably not what you were looking for.

Nils 3.0 v2.2 (or 2.1 or whatever version I'm on) is working extremely well for me, I think the bigger question is what about it isn't working for you?
The most stable rom you can use is decks aosp which is built to 2.3.5
No froyo space issues...or lag from the newer sense ports.

I'm a big fan of Jermaine's I'm a big fan of Jermaine's In-Sensitive Minimalist ROM. It has by far been the most stable ROM I have used. If you're looking for Sense 3.0 he has a Dee-Zire ROM that is AOSP/Sense 3.0.
I haven't personally tried it, but if it's anything like his other work I'm sure it's top notch.

I'm running McSense and everything is stable and fast, but it seems to be taking longer to charge the phone.
No complaints other than that!
For the most stability I'd recommend something close to the stock GB that was recently released, with some enhancements. Two ROMs that stick out in my mind are jermaine's stock+ and mcd's mcsense. Both devs have senseless versions as well which are just as stable.

+1 Jermaine has the most stable ROMs as they are the closest to stock. I personally drive IM 2.3.1 and love it. He stopped his Sense 3.0 ROM in beta for not living up to his standards. You can trust his development to be 100% stable.
I'm running the 666th Sense ROM and loving it. It's the stock framework with some awesomely twisted tweaks, and with tiny's kernel the battery is running better than ever. I've lurked here for forever and have learned a lot - figured I'd throw in my $.02 for whatever it's worth.
Good luck in finding something you love.

And why! Don't just drop a ROM name. Mention which are your favorite features and which other ROMs you might have tried. Maybe this thread will stop the questions "what's the best ROM". Basically it was always asking "what ROM are you using" Because those were the results.
So far legendary has been the best for me! I have tried out thunderhawk (laggy for me) mostly stock (too stock for me)... well let's just say I have tried them all and I always end up back to legendary... it has the perfect balance of themeing, stability, and performance IMO!

I am biased as I help random with some minor debugging at times. There are lots of ways to run your setup, the key is finding what fits your usage. So far I have used Marcusants ASC roms 5.1 - His V.2 was a fan of the speed, but just not stable. And I'm not a fan of V.2 with the red color theme. I have also Tried MIUI 1.12.23 which worked good, but i like having the app drawer which this did not. I am currently running CleanGB 1.03 with no issues. It is a stable rom, running 4g without issues and installed gtalk w/video. Next on the list is the new CM7 version which seems to have gotten Wifi stable as well as 4g working.
I have to test out all the roms and supply to all the friends/family that have the epic so they dont end up calling me for every error they get
Legendary RC 2.1 rocking my allblue theme on MTD.
CleanGB MTD is a great ROM. No problems, good battery life. Love it
