it's there in ICS, never found out-of-box in GB without using app.
Search for UOT Kitchen. It is a website where you can customize certain parts of your ROM like battery.
You have to upload certain files though. He instructions are thorough. Read it on the website. There is an XDA thread somewhere here about it too.
I have successfully changed my battery indicator on stock rooted GB.
Remember to make a Nandroid before doing anything.

I'm on GB and use Badass Battery Monitor. For the rest I wait for ICS to come for my Note.
Unforunately no,I have to go all the time to Settings > About > Status to check it out.

Is it possible to get the battery steps in 1% steps instead of 10%?
Would be nice.
Search is your friend. But since I hate people who just say that, I will add:
Circle battery widget does.
I also think someone is working on a mod to change the default display, not sure if they have finished/were successful.
I think DG said it was a hardware issue not software so booooo.

also a happy circle battery widget user, couldn't stand it in just 10%
I am working on an app that uses same method as circle battery widget. It will place the battery % in the notification bar similar to battery minder esk apps. It will NOT replace the stock one. Tho it is possible sooner or later.
I hope to have a beta out later today.
Sounds great!
A small icon in the status bar is much better than a big widget on the homescreen!
here u go, try this http://www.mediafire.com/?bx7w8kuhlfc8v7a
shouldnt have to many bugs lol, let me know what u think.
The time left in the drop down is still all jacked. I have shutdown time:-9:-50AM, hours left:-27.81 5:18PM
*I had a super Beta Beta version installed previously and i clean install followed by a reboot cleared this oddity out

I just installed it and it's working great, but as a future update do you think you can remove the small icon above the battery % number and enlarge the actual number so it is easier to read? Basically, make the % number fill up the status bar vertically. Let me know!
Damn u pauly lol, vinay, yes that is planed. I just did this as it was the easiest
Method to go with. A better method is planed.

I gave it some time. And rebooted. Seems to be doing much better now. Ill give it a day and report back.
*EDIT I ran my battery down to 2% and has a shutdown time 30 minutes earlier that the actual time. it was back to reporting -.29 hours. up to that point is was fairly accurate. it did adjust itself well the more i used it. Which is to be expected.
That is one reason am not too fond with "predictive life" it changes with stress. i can run it hard for an hour and show 2 hours left. then let it set for an hour and it shows 4 hours. so i pick it up and use it hard and it dies in an hour.

Do we have some screen shots of this in action? Thanks in advance, from the other thread too, hah
It works but it doesn't look nice and the entry in the notification bar isn't necessary in my eyes but maybe you can change that soon
Thanks!
any update on this app? is it possible to replace the stock battery icon?
When I open the battery usage option, I get usage information unavailable. Any ideas? Unrooted 3.1 so no mods.

I think all transformers are like that. My UK one has been with 3.0 and 3.1 anyway.
Not mine on 3.0. I remember because it would say cell service usage and wondering why if it didn't have a cell radio.

We're not talking about the info on when radios etc. are active, but the display that's missing which should show when individual apps are active.
If I check the battery usage it says unavailable. F I click on the battery it list what is consuming the battery (wifi, stand by, etc.). But I cannot check wich apps have been active.
Regards.
Same here - TF from US with official 3.1
No individual app usage statistics...
Hopefully, sooner or later (in 3.2 maybe?) they will fix this...
Even Spare Parts in root FC's. Like you all, I hope there's a fix soon.
I just got my transformer yesterday from bestbuy and i was wondering if there was an app of widget that could display battery percentage and statistics. I've had my transformer docked unplugged for almost 4 hours now and the battery still shows 100%. No way that can be right. Ive also read somewherethere is a dual battery/dock widgetor guage but i cant find it in my widgets list. Is there such a widget or app?

Your tablet battery is staying at 100% because you're running off the dock battery. Install this widget to get details for both.

Oppps, double post.
I use "Wheres My Droid Power", it's not optimized for the TF screen but it work to tell you what's using what percentage of your battery power.

For those wondering what we're talking about,
Compare the Android phone's battery status to TF battery status page.

this is strange because my TF used to displaybattery use info for each app, but it no longer does so. I havent upgraded rom / rooted or anything so why would it work once, and suddenly no longer work? Odd...

Are you sure you're not muddling things up with another Android device you've owned or used? I've never seen a single report from anybody else of the per-app battery use monitoring working, nor have I ever seen it work myself (and I was a pretty early adopter in the US market).
Any idea what could be wrong, since my droid pro is showing only full percentage numbers on battery. I only see 10%, 20%, 30% and nothing in between like 21%,22%,23%. I installed many different battery apps and they all act the same.
I just got the phone second hand and runing 2.1
tnx

I have 3.8.7 and i tried three apps to show percentage in status bar, but they all show only full numbers. Do you have any app that works for you? I don't mind if it's not showing in status bar, just to check true batt life
Overall, luv the phone
tnx

Minimalistic Text did it for me.
Can't vouch for any others.
Hey guys.
I've done my best to do lots of homework as I've slowly hacked my way into Continuum territory. I've spent a couple hours researching this and tried a couple zips and had to restore my phone.
Basically, I'm trying to get a percentage battery display instead of the battery icon in the top right notification bar, so I can see the battery level. I've looked at UOTKitchen, I even tried a Fascinate zip that did the same thing, but no dice.
Is there an easy way of doing this? I've been googling for a long time and can't find anything on this for the continuum specifically.
Thanks!
Let me add, I've rooted and flashed the Adrynaline DL17 clean ROM.
I got it working, I'll upload it later xP

Don't mean to pester Trailblazer. Just wanted to make sure you were replying to this thread and not on another so I know where to search. Thanks.
Lmao, the percentage battery mod has been uploaded in the theme section for like a week xP lol go check it out
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA Premium App
Found it and applied the zip. Couple questions:
1) Looks like the GB theme contains the accurate battery mod. Is it possible to keep Adrynaline's clean DL17 ROM look and then apply the no clock and battery mods (and have the battery icon remain the standard blue)?
2) I've also seen a battery mod for Fascinate that has a circle with a meter on it, and the circle changes colors as the battery drains. Is this possible for the Continuum? If you google "samsung fascinate accurate battery life" several links come up with examples.
Thanks for your thoughts. Let me know how I can return the favor.

Yeah, I can create an accurate battery touchwiz theme... No Problem
I could do that too, i just personally think that's ugly If a lot of people want it (and will actually keep it! ) Then i will do it
and just stick with this phone, that's all i can ask
EDIT: Go check out my thread in the theme section Just for you
Applied the zip. At first it was working, but after charging last night, it's stuck on 100%?
hmm... That's kinda weird... If it worked before, it should continue to work!
I'll take a look though!
Couple things I noticed that may help. It seems to freeze at one number. So for a while it was at 100. Then 80, later at 35. I think they changed during reboots of the phone, but not during every reboot.
I applied the Touchwiz zip over the top of the GB theme. Should that work? Would I need to reflash the whole ROM and then apply?
THanks trailblazer!
EDIT: Watched it a bit closer today. It went from 100 to 80, then 65, when I woke up this morning it was 35...looking at the actual battery level though, those are only rough estimates. It seems like it is probably using the default Touchwiz battery levels, rather than the full accurate percentage.
Just to be sure, I flashed the clean ROM again. Still same issues.
I just swapped over form iPhone to Android, because, let's face it.... APPLE SUCKS!!!! So bear with me...
I am not new to XDA, I used to have a Treo 750 (God I miss that phone), and was on here all the time. But now, I have a Motorola Bravo running rooted Froyo 2.2.1 overclocked using bandroidx's overclock app to 1050 mHz at 56SEL. (Quite stable, by the way) and a couple other things that make the phone PERFECT. But one thing is missing... The 1% battery percentages. I've tried all the widgets in the app market for it (literally), and tried to get into the root folder of my phone (which RootExplorer for some odd reason won't let me do), and look at the different .apk's and XML's available, but I can't seem to find anything to change the way the battery shows.
Can someone, or has someone, found a workaround?
I was having the same issue. I found one app on the market that shows 1% increments. 3C's battery monitor widget. I can't post links yet. But search for 3C and you will find it. In the settings you should find a switch for reading from the battery. Let me know if you need any more help.

Thanks. Took a minute to find it, but I did.
Do you know how to stop the Bravo's insane memory leak? Or is that just with Android?
Have you tried the BravoX ROM we have on here? I'm almost certain that that ROM has the 1% battery increment within it.

I don't think bandroid ever figured it out. Rdannar's latest cm7 has it in 5% increments. The Somewhere he mentioned the file you have to edit to change the status bar display.

Oh yeah, that's right. Bandroid's BravoX ROM has that circular battery icon with the dots, I think. My fault.
It might not have the 1% battery reporting, but I haven't seen any evidence of a memory leak.

Well i can fresh boot with 240+MB of free RAM, but soon afterward, i wind up with.less than 150. I have the taak killer installed, along with fast reboot. It helps a bit, but i think the background processes kill it.

If you want a stand alone app I would recommend Titanium Backup.
The Go suite( Go SMS, Go Contacts..
etc) will also back up your stuff.
On the other hand, I didn't loose anything when I switched ROMS.
