others have to do the hard work before you... great policy!
if everyone was like that we simply wouldn't have good and stable custom roms because no one would test anything... we simply be waiting for others to get that job done... it's that the thanks you have to give the Dev that work on this rom?
yeah right!

Can you post bigger screenshots? The UI looks a lot like MIUI :-s
Sent from my U8800

This is a Chinese based rom. It is based on CyanogenMod 7 with modifications mainly in the UI.
Languages are only EN/CN.
Kernel is .35 based on genokolar release. Sources are nowhere to find. It is fast and has a few themes that i never got to download from the theme manager prolly because of the .cn server routing.
I don't know if they have fixed the bugs of the .35 kernel last time i checked there was echoing on speakerphone dunno now.
It's no new rom though it's been around for quite some time. Check out their official site http://www.lewaos.com/ and bbs for updates.

So .35 rom? No force internal mic then... anyway, the UI looks like a cartoon, pretty awful IMO...
Sent from my U8800

It's nice to have a wide range of selection where to choose from. ( = many many many roms)

Wasn't there some other rom too with looks like CM7 and Miui mixed together? This looks a lot like it. And what about the ram, how much does it actually leave free?

Hum, there's a .32 version too... maybe will try this after all
http://lewarom.weebly.com/downloads.html

[rom][official]

I just tried it... IMO, not worth it, it's confusing at first, for example, the settings menu is nothing like we are used to, the only has chinese and english, lags a little, the UI theme looks like it was done by a 12year old, the stock launcher is awful, the notification dropdown is a mess. I liked the dialer (looks a lot like miui) and sms apps though. Besides all that, it's only cm7 with a bad designed theme.
Anyway, that's my personal opinion of course, you guys may like it. For example, I detest the look of MIUI, so...
I've tried the .32version though, don't know about the .35 but i'm assuming it's even worse.

you must have forgotten that this is a god damn phone invented for phone calls and make your life and business easier,so yes ill let other try it first because i lack of the necessary testing time or possible bugs. what is wrong with you people? and please let me find my own ways of thanking devs rather than critisizing in front of your desktop.

Can we use mms with data off like miui or stock roms?

Great Rom !!!
Very Fast and Smooth..
I don't have any problem for now..
Thank's !!!

Nice, but......
This ROM looks ok, but I wish it was in english. The default language looks gibberish to me, I could'nt even figure out how to change the language because I could not read the menus.

First Glance
At first glance it looks amazing!!! I might get flamed for that but it is my opinion.
Currently,
-Sliding is smooth.
-It has a contacts application! Would like to see an option for Favorite Contacts.
-Calendar rework on the ribbon is great. Shows numerous days appointments.
-Dpad controls are present.
-Really intuative.
-Customization of animation is available under Customize Home. It can flip like the cube but in all directions.
-Battery drain is better but still a little more than my liking. This is probably device specific.
-Resource usage is down on my Wizard from before but still higher than most small programs
This is probably because things that PointUI controls in their interface like Weather, Contacts, CommManager
etc are always available immediately, no delay. It takes resources to do that. But I have to say overall 2 of
2 of the most recent cubes I have tried and 1 of the iphone knock offs I have tried have both been Ram hogs
with half the immediate access or smoothness this program gives.
-Messaging and calendar seem to be customizable to a degree still using a reg editor. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355961
-They have their own keyboard going on. Try to edit a contact and see what I mean. It would be nice to see it
skinnable because the color of it is so dark.
-Scrolling is still opposite. Both on press and direct, and flick to scroll but I like it.
------
Things I'd Like to see--These may actually come, see my notes below
-More options on weather. I like HTC Weather plugin much better. It would be nice to see more forcasts then
today and tomorrow. I really think a Hybrid of HTC Today Weather and Weather Watcher would be the best
but they may have an issue covering all of the countries.
-PointUI Calendar-Bet its coming
-PointUI SMS-Bet its coming
-PointUI VOIP
-PointUI Dialpad
-PointUI Media Hub & Player. Bet something like it is coming but man wouldn't it be great if they would team up with
A_C to make a killer integrated app!!!!!
-Rework the lock screen. Again they should talk to A_C here.
-Would like to see a Charging indicator on the home page battery icon. It does show however when pressed.
-Would like to see a Sync icon appear when connected to the PC
I haven't spent much more than 10 minutes with it. I don't know how customizable it is as of yet. It looks like on their site they are developing more programs and customizations to go with it. I also notice that at the top of the download section there was an emphasis on this Home being "Free". That along with the green check marks for some things and red x's for others makes me think that adds or improvements may cost money going forward.
Thats ok. Good programs do cost money and should be paid for.
I will add more as I test further.

Completely approve with you
I know it's a little early but to make this program "perfect" :
- an integrated SMS manager, like they did for Contacts
- surely theme customisation
- a shortcut manager for programs on the HOME screen (eg change the outlook calendar to ThumbCal or the Messaging to a program other than Outlook messaging)
Though, this program is still GREAT, and this update brings decents modifications and fixes

I believe the integrated SMS is coming. Just from looking at their website it will be there but they will probably charge for it and good for them.
Theme customization same thing
The shortcut manager is there in a way. Just press the "Star" Icon. I actually think it helps keep the screen clean of clutter. For you other 2 requests, ThumbCal and Messaging. You can change these using a reg editor. Not as simple as a ui but it can be done. Let me know if you need help with it.

new version looks promising..waiting for Wm2003 Edition
The new version is incredible!!!
a quick question
I am using version 1.02b, is it better to uninstall this version and start fresh? or should I use the update manager instead?
I really liked PointUI when it first came out, but realized pretty soon that I couldn't use it because of the way it lists the tasks. I was really hoping they had fixed that in this version, but see that it still lists tasks alpabetically instead of by due date.
Looks great, and the "Pick a version" screen definately implies "another (non free) version is coming soon"
Aaaa VGA version still have to wait

I Agree!!!!! But I bet it means really neat adds!!! And good for them!! Its the only way to get Developers to move past initial implementation.

I would recommend you completely unintall the previous version. By that I mean go through their unistall method and soft reset. Then file explore and delete all info out of \Program Files. Then reg edit and delete all info in \HKCU and \HKLM. Soft reset and then use this one.
Cheers

Flashed, configured.
This is amazingly fast, i love that, that's what i wanted since i understood that i could flash my rom.
OMAP [email protected], spb mobile shell 3.5, sense ui, finger menu, condor GT black...
Everything works fine together, no bugs for the moment.
But i'm looking for a better taskbar, light on memory, to replace the icons line i hate. Any ideas?

Oh yeah i am happy that you liked, and yes i too hate those default icons but since i promised to many to give atleast once a clean rom, so did i next time fully customized and will try to improve battery and free ram more.
And taskbar = android one is in fashion
And for start menu icons = hd2 icons are famous but if you wanna try the latest one then firestorm icons are the latest and newest available on theme section.
Yep i'll check for an android taskbar, since i have a full android theme trhough mobile shell, that should be a good idea to keep in that way
Sync works fine, btw, i'm testing it right now.
And you rom is perfect, cleanest rom are the best, everyone could get the phone that fits exactly his own needs... No customisation at first run is not a problem for me
Very nice rom, i'll test it all day long, and will come back to give feedback if anyone is interested.
Thanks a lot jagan, my opal has been crying for this ro his whole life!

just for dev purposes... also "Loads of languages" takes up a bit of space. prolly would be a good idea to rip that from the build also and maybe just add eng and spanish. gsm guys need that stuff cuz their phone is sold all over the world.
ps if u ever have any questions about roms and such hit me up.

I know, was thinking of doing soon, since the Eris is a US-only phone as of now, probably will leave English and Spanish. MMSZAP is also not needed because I'm pretty sure thats for GSM phones with roms based off of the 2.1 Eris leak.
small cosmetic issue
In the main app screen the home, phone and add get washed out. Other than that real fast n smooth. Thanks so much for ur work look forward to the update. Any ideas on the gmail bug requiring a resign every boot? Thanks again.

Everything good except my home page doesnt have clock no sense UI.
Great work Framework!
Personally, I prefer vanilla android, but this is a great sense rom. The rom feels a bit bloated to me (extra apps & languages installed) but I also acknowledge that a lot of users are looking for an integrated solution for most tasks they would like to take care of rather than looking for an app themselves.
This rom does in fact feel quite a bit snappier than the stock sense rom, and I applaud you for having ported this so quickly!

nope, non-htc-signed roms can't be installed without root
This could just be me, but with this rom, it keeps on forgetting my google account's password randomly. For example, I go to the market and it wants me to login again, I exit out without doing so and go to Gmail and it works fine. Strange. My password is over 20charters so if I have to enter it on the touch screen it is annoying.

lag and entrophy reduction

Dont know if iv posted this is right place if not could moderators move it to proper forum.
came across this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113150 and installed it on my phone eu htc hd2 ricks1995 slim rom and works very well n thought it might be of benefit to most hd2 owners my lag before installation was 57 no change after but my enthropy before was 216 and a whopping 4096 after installation phone runs smoother no visible lags so far so check out link provided abd hopefully will help a lot of hd2 owners with their lag on their phones.

I have seen this too.
I was just about to test it
since we have only GB (with Sense) only, this would really improve.
I am only very little sceptical but excited at the same time.
If it really proves to be working well, I will include it as default in my ROM
Isn't this the same as this one?
Which was also reported to be not working (on the HD2)?

as far as i know its not same one and i can vouch at least works on my eu hd2 after using it for awhile about 7hours straight at one time i experianced no lag the one u referred to is by lambgx02 the one i gave link for is by idcrisis and like iv stated my entrophy was 216 before and is a consistant 4096 now if trying out follow his instructions and install apps he states for checking lag and other app for checking entrophy before u install it then check again after you install it and see if there is a difference all i can say again is its working ok on my hd2 with ricks1995 slim rom and i hae not had any adverse reactions on phone and no placebo effect as myphone was a bit sluggish before and is working snappier now.
i would also like to point out dev of this is idcrisis who is a kernel dev as he states on thread i gave link for.

I've tried it for the last day on Rick's Barebone CM7 v2b.
So far scrolling through settings, file manager and alike is definitely smoother.
The browser is a bit smoother as well.
Frankly, with this setup + ice10 theme and lmt's pie control, i don't really care about anything 4.0.4+.
I think i'll keep it for a while.
Thanks for the tip, maddoc1007.
ps. For those who want a power button in lmt's pie control, add a key with number 26.
For a reboot menu, you can download a reboot menu app from the market and set it as long-press in lmt's pie control settings.
Edit: long press power&home button script for lmt - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38058934&postcount=3553
Are you guys sure you're not just falling for a placebo? On my thread (the one Marvlesz linked) people said they saw no difference. An article in the portal was published which discredited the Entropy seed generator. If I'm not mistaken, there was even a dev from Google who said that this would never work. If you guys are genuinely seeing a speed improvement then that's great, but I still don't buy into it.
It is described that it really is working on GB builds. On ICS and JB it is not needed because Google implemented similar functionality.
If you do not see difference it is only perception. Technically it is really working in the background.
(it is like you switch the light on using switch in other room. The light IS on but you do not se it from other room )

It's another placebo just like the most build.prop "Tweaks" which make your phone, "fastest".
Ok guys,
Uninstalled mod > scrolling still smooth
restored backup from before flashing the mod > scrolling not as smooth
flashed mod again > scrolling smooth again
Spent to much time on this already and now i have to figure this out because i previously said it works!
Arghh, me and my big hands...:crying:
Edit:
No changes in the build.prop before and after...
Guess i'll have to make a side by side video just to convince myself of whatever i want to convince myself...

Calculator++ - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.solovyev.android.calculator&hl=en
If you want a 4.2 keyboard, you can try one from the market
but they all take so long to pop up that it is a bit annoying.
You can try out the new adw launcher if you like (uses ~13mb of ram). The vertical app drawer is smooth
or if you can live without app-labels then the horizontal "card stack" drawer type is smooth too.
Holo locker uses ~7mb of ram and takes a moment on boot, your call.
Hey Rick, i wanted to ask you, does your rom use the same gpu drivers as 4.0.4+ roms?
For example, solar explorer - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.burlock.solarexplorerlite&hl=en
is running pretty much as smooth as in jelly bean roms while it lags in cyanmobile eXperience.
Thank you.
ps. If you want a play/pause button in pie control, for your music, add a key with number 85
or choose some from here - http://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/KeyEvent.html
This mod is disabling the scrolling cache. That's why scrolling is smooth and stays smooth even after removing the mod.
In Barebone CM7 v2b:
Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance > Scrolling cache > is set to "Force disable"
even if changed, with the mod installed, it will apply "Force disable" again after reboot.
So, no placebo but a changed setting.

Hey everyone!
I've been fiddling with gaia recently (big thanks goes to vampirefo for the clockwork recovery image and his 2.1 build!)
I decided to fix a few annoyances that I had with the mozilla build, cause the Open C is currently my main phone and I use it every day.
So I forked gaia and over the last few days have implemented the following things:
Visuals
- Made stock icons more consistent, changed the layout a bit.
- Removed background from the search bar on the top of the screen (I think it is ugly).
- Applied the font fix to get Fira Sans back (more info: MDN link)
Browser
- Made the address bar appear when you start scrolling to the top - no more scrolling to the very top of the page to access it!
- Added "Duck Duck Go" to the search engines (you can change them in browser settings)
- Added Google suggestions to the browser address bar 'as-you-type'
[UPDATE 07/09/2014]
I updated the build, technically its not 2.1 anymore, mozilla moved to 2.2
Here is a list of the changes I made to this build:
- Added a button to lock orientation to the swipe screen
- Changed layout of the swipe screen a bit
- Long tap on shift for capslock
- Added a button to close all applications in the task manager
- Other small updates to styling
(Also added French keyboard)
Udate: Mozilla added copy - paste for text fields! also available in this build (probably not stable yet)
Keyboards in this build
English, Spanish, German, French, Russian (cyrillic)
Download
ZTE-Open-C-21(22)-modUI.zip on Google Drive [Fixed the link, sorry about that]
GitHub
I also decided to ublish my branch on github: https://github.com/YemSalat/gaia-modui feel free to fork and contribute or port to other phones.
I am currently learning Gaia architecture as I'm making changes, so some of them are a bit 'hacky', but I try to follow the conventions and prefix my stuff (css/functions/etc.) with 'modui'
Installation instructions
Make sure to backup your data!
Download zip and extract it to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
Use .50 recovery to install by choosing restore
In recovery mode navigate to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/ffos_21_modUI
(backup and restore > restore from /external_sd > ffos_21_modUI > yes restore)
Then let .50 recovery restore 2.1, reboot and enjoy
For more info on .50 recovery and zte open c go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54552198&postcount=21
Let me know what you think!
Looks really good. Runs good. Only issue i noticed ist that the browser has issues with Facebook mobile version.
A friend of mine runs Firefox nightly build on PC there he had some issue with Facebook too.

I'll check on that.
your build seems less buggy than vampirefo, but the lag when disable "App Transition" is still there.
edit, other bug:
- After login firefox account for the first time, its not auto login for the firefox marketplace, so i need to login again on ff marketplace
Thanks for your build, I really like that UI. :good:
I've been using it for a couple of days, so far I'm quite happy with it.
This is a list of some of the issues I encountered :
camera is not working: the app runs but the screen is black and no shot can be taken
App suspending setting is not taken into account: once turned off apps are still suspended
light sensor is not working: no dimming as with stock ffos
keyboard first caracter is not taken into account when typing
same lag as a_tumiwa when App transition is disabled

That isn't exclusive to YemSalat's build. My vanilla Mozilla provided images on my Flame do the same thing for the first pressed character.
I'm currently building the latest gaia and it works well for the most part, however I'm not going to release it just yet.
I also included some of my own updates:
- added "Lock orientation" button to the swipe screen. (thinking of adding mute button as well)
- changed the layot of swipe screen a bit
According to team meet-ups (I'm following them on mailing list) - in the next week the browsing experience is gonna undergo quite a few changes, and they are going to get rid of the current default browser completely.

- The Camera IS working for me. If someone else can check on that and report back - would be good.
- Will look into it
- Is there a light sensor on Open C??
- Yep, keyboard first character as Saijin_Naib noted is a gaia bug, will hopefully be fixed soon.
- See above
Also, it would be great if everybody who finds issues with builds would post them on bugzilla, they will have more chances of getting fixed that way.
I'll update this build in the next couple days and let you know.
Concerning the light sensor (and maybe the camera as well), AFAIK there are different variants of that phone, mine was bought from a french store.
BTW, would you mind adding a french keyboard layout please?
Would it be possible to have a GPS switch on the swipe screen?
I will look into bugzilla.
Thanks again. :good:
The camera issue is reported in the ticket 1055515 on B2G bugzilla (cannot post link yet as a new forum member) it seems that most phones having this issue come from Leclerc, which is where I got my open c.
İs firefoxOS is still developing?

That's a rather specific device, unfortunately I can't promise that everything's gonna work on it in the next builds.
By the way - it would really help if you reported it on bugzilla, I am pretty certain I couldn't screw that up, so it must be there regression.
could you put "clear all" button in task manager for your next build? dont know if it possible...

I can't promise for the next build, but definitely putting this one on the TODO list.
just installed this, thanks a lot.
it was my first install on my first phone. impressed how easy it was with clockworkmod et al.
thanks for putting this together and doing all the work for me.
no bugs encountert til now.
camera works
keyboard works
A little update everyone.
Sorry I still haven't updated the build - I keep merging Mozilla's branch and while they fix a lot of issues, they also introduce new ones, for example there was no way to dial a phone number more then once, but that got fixed.
I added everything that I wanted to add so far and the 'Close all' button to the task manager.
Another big news - Mozilla is moving its master branch from 2.1 to 2.2! This means that 2.1 won't be getting new features apart from bugfixes, which is good cause it means its more stable now.
I will upload the new build today (Australia time, so it may be tomorrow for you )

Did you try signing in to gmail on wifi or 3g?
Whatever you did - can you please try again the other way and report back?
Just to clarify - its only occuring when signing in through the browser, right?
Signing in through email app should work fine if you set servers to imap.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com respectively.
