http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/12/netflix-releases-android-app-for-select-htc-phones-samsung-nexu/
It's only for select phones for the time being, but hopefully the devs can make this happen.
im sure it will work on cm7 im downloading the app as we speak
I literally came here seconds after seeing Nexus S and not any of the Galaxy S devices listed.

versedout,
Thank you for this bit of information. This is what all Android users have been waiting for. I am completeley stoked, but it's bitter sweet at the same time. I really love my Vibrant and really don't want to have to get another phone so that I could enjoy the nectur of the gods. I can only hope, no wait, I KNOW that one of the Devs will get this up and running for all phonesnot just: "The app has just hit the Android Market and is apparently available for the HTC Incredible, Nexus One, Evo 4G, and G2, plus the Samsung Nexus S. "

That's what I was thinking of doing. I just haven't seen the apk posted.
@Das_Negros I know it's only a matter of time.
Apk post? Anyone?

No need for an apk when there is an online Android Market. Here is the link to the market:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.netflix.mediaclient
apk - http://www.multiupload.com/NPZ062QIZB via Gizmodo.
Of course I installed it and it gave me "Netflix is not supoorted on this device..." but it does load up the startup screen.

A friend has downloaded it to his EVO 4G and the thing works flawlessly....Just pissed that they didn't make it for the Galaxy S/Vibrant.....just have to wait I guess (come on guys work your magic....Devs that is)
well its a no go changed my build.prop strait from cm7 for nexus s and its a no go lets me log in and check movies and such but wont play ill reinstall and see if its different
i get nothing but a blank screen then fc on cm7 with bilboa's kernel, tried installing the app twice with the same result.
grabbed apk from the HTC forum, not working on vibrant with TW 2.2 rom
Definitely what I was waiting for, I get alot of downtime at work. Netflix on my phone would be quite amazing...

Not supported on SGH-T959 with Bionix 1.3.1.
Stay classy Android fragmentation.
thought i had read a while back that netflix was only able to make a licensing deal for android if the supported device had hardware based drm to prevent piracy
Got the app on my G2 and its the same as my itouch. What I don't understand is why does it need DRM protected when you need an netflix account to use it.

first of all, it's dual, not duel. a duel is when you offend some bloke and then you shoot at each other, or stab each other to death. or be girls and slap each other with white gloves.
anyway, this phone is fast. loading pages cannot be a benchmark, since that depends on your connection. try playing some games, or using some cpu intensive apps. you'll see the difference.
and try not to troll. i mean wtf, your nexus one is faster than this phone. to quote the post above, as it really hits the spot: seriously!?
I don’t know if this is where you are seeing the difference.
I had a HTC legend and when scrolling web pages with a lot of images, I could never see the checker box appear. But in the SGS2 I see the checker box appear quite often, perhaps it's just me or the way the phone is set up, but either way it does not annoy me.
But when it comes to sheer speed the SGS2 eats the legend a million times over. The most noticeable difference can be seen when installing apps, the SGS2 is blazing fast!!

HTC Legend uses a CPU browser, while GS2 uses a GPU browser making it way smoother, but checkerboxes appears.
Download Opera Mobile or Dolphin HD or something to make the checkerboxes disappear.

Theres an andriod phone that does not have checkered boxes? I thought that was only in safari!
I can assure you that my sgs2 on 800mhz max cpu speed will out bench your nexus one any day.

you could try flashing a newer version see if it helps.
go to menu > settings > about
and look at the "baseband" field to see what your current radio is.
should have a number like "KF2" or something

yes you will need to learn how to use ODIN and then use it to flash a newer modem and keep trying till you find the one that works best.

Don't be put off! Odin is an app that you run on your PC, you connect your phone in download mode (turn off then hold down volume down, home and power), download a file and then click a couple of buttons.
It's a doddle, as long as you follow instructions.
Now, finding the correct thing to flash to your phone is a different matter completely!
Yeah don’t be put off. Rooting is easy. I was also scared at first, but it's basically a 30 second process. Try CF-Root, it's easy, just make sure you download the correct firmware for the rooting process.

Skyvi app is very cool just like siri

I don't think so; I think you may be overstating things a bit. What do you really use flash for on your phone anyway?
I certainly didn't switch TO android because it could do flash.
And I sold phones for a long time and no customer ever told me they chose android because of flash compatibility.
Also, I don't see how your flash comment has anything to do with the Skyvi app.

Some did, but they switched for the wrong reason. I'm sure google has a planned HTML5 or something along the lines better than flash for the impending future. To remove something 'crucial' and NOT have a plan to replace it, is asinine. I'm not worried at all.

trying now.
I like Vlingo better
Other than asking my phone dumb stuff like "what is the meaning of life?" I do have any real need for Siri-like apps. Maybe if I used my phone while driving or something. What these apps need is an uncanny ability to answer any meaningless question I could come up with. That will sell me.

So basically its the stock 4.0 browser with the chrome skin and no flash and as of yet no chrome plugin support. But try it out anyway.
Its never gonna support flash, just like android post-4.0

I thought it was ICS only?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485495
I've been using it since yesterday on the CM9 KANG in my P7500. Have to say I'm VERY impressed. Seems faster and more "desktop-ish" than the stock browser. It surely deserves a try!
working fine for me but.....
After fooling around I can't find any way to set the user agent to desktop. Is there a way, a tweak for that yet? That's quite annoying
Its ICS Only!
Well, if anyone here is not using any of the Kang CM9 ports on their GT10.1, then you don't know what you're missing. No reason for anyone to be stuck on 3.2.
No flash, no YouTube desktop site, no good.

This site gives pretty nice instructions on how to make the build yourself

Right now it's slow and in early alpha, Hardware Acceleration doesn't work as of now.

A friend of mine is right now for the 4G. Let's see how this works..

So everything will be erased, recoveries, ROM's and your SDCARD/eMMC

My friend is currently trying to get a version that we can flash, because normally it just transfers straight from adb. He has to fix permissions and symlinks of the dump. Hopefully if everything goes right we should have a build by tonight
I would really appreciate this, been wanting to try it out, but don't have a PC running linux now.
Interesting. If I get time I might setup Ubuntu in Virtual Box and give it a try.
I'm so trying this when it's fully functional, even if I have to wait a long time.
Whoever is in charge of the UI is great at what they do, it's really nice looking. Especially the dialer.
Wow , I find this thread now ... I feel stupid for posting my thread now .. Alright Everything is Done , but one question ... If I flash this will clockworkmod go away, or anything from my memory ? like all my music and etc ... Just need to get things clear

what happened to the thread you posted with the precompiled zip?? I was able to pull it up on google cache, but it's deleted from XDA for some reason.
was there an issue with the build that caused it to get pulled?? I'd like to try it out since I've already got your zip.
