Need help going from Rogers Dell Streak stock 1.6 (7921) to dj Steves ROM

Hey Guys,
I just got my Dell Streak at the beginning of the month. I just got it unlocked and rooted. I am looking to upgrade to Dj Steve's Rom however, I'm having a hard time finding the information I need to do so. Most of the info I have found pertain to AT&T (US) and O2 (UK) users. I'm trying to find out how to go from the stock 1.6 from Rogers (build 7921) to DJ Steve's latest build (or most stable build).
So here is what I'm asking for today guys:
1) If anyone in the Ottawa (National Capital Region) knows how to do this and is willing to go through the process for me (or with me), I'm willing to pay for a successful upgrade.
2) If you can give me clear guidance or point me to the appropriate information, it would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks so much guys,
Pat
if you used a search on the dell streak forum for "rogers" you would have found THIS
but since im here, i found that THIS thread helped me with what i needed to install on my computer to be able to update
then i used the main tutorial HERE to get to a prerelease version of froyo
from there you can use the "next steps" guide in the above link to get you to either an official release of 2.2 or to dj_steves froyo 1.6.1 which u can find in the development thread
happy modding
Its not hard but for some reason some of these instructions are hard to follow I will try and make a YouTube video tomorrow and post it here.

Same here, id love a youtube, it makes it newb proof.
I tried to do the 1.6 rogers to 1.6 o2 path, but i kept getting errors.
And 5 days after i had my streak, the cam had some blurs so i returned for a new one.
Its been over two weeks now, and when i called dell, they said my streak is in production status.
i know, it sux to be me.
**** wanted to add the followin error msg that i had
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/recovery.img", "recovery")
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation Aborted
****
no offense but do you people not read? the links i posted is exactly how i upgraded and no im not an android pro (i just got the streak a week ago and its my first smartphone)
also, the main tutorial on the streakdroid website IS a video

It should be.zip, not tar. You downloaded a kernel, not rom.

Noob issues

Hello guys I've always wanted an HD2 to try out all the coolness and now I got one and I'm totally lost lol. I bought it off the xda marketplace and the Guy already has maglar or whatever that thing is called and its on windows phone but its on 7.0.
Btw I don't have the T-Mobile version or the European version. I have the rare telestra version from Australia. If that matters.
I don't know what rom I'm on but under settings it has a help contacts website and its HTTP://WWW.mpx.Gen.tr
It takes me to some foreign language forum.
What I'm asking someone on here is how do I get on a newer popular rom on xda

Hi,
I think the best You can do is to read some tutorials here on XDA - i bought HD2 and didnt know anything about roms and such - but if You spend some time on reading stuff here You can choose something for Yourself.
I have gone from win 6.5 which is ofcourse a build-in OS for HD2, through Android 2.3, then ICS 4.0 and now i have WP7.5.
There was a moments when i though that my phone will be a brick-like device so my advice is: read - and read carefully.
go step by step tutorials - if You dont know something there is answer somewhere here - i know becouse i was in the same place as You are HD2 and noob bout roms (still i am
so pick an OS for Yourself - read tutorial and thats all the magic there is about it

Guys, are u aware of buggy samsung kernels

Thanks to the OP and the guys who discovered this,
Please read

and watch this video

I just wanted to spread the word, I take no credit for the above as I am just a reader like u
only for leaked firmware and we have official roms from sammy
Sounds like the Siyah RC6 kernel.
Then again, leaked kernels are leaked kernels. Responsibility is to those who flashes them. The problem is that plenty of people dont seem to understand that flashing anything is a risk that they choose to take.

Please Read "the AT&T Galaxy S II (SGH-I777)"...
Now read the forum title " I9100"...
"Kernels that SHOULD be safe are:
[*]GT-I9100 ICS leaks[*]GT-I9100 official releases[*]Kernels built off of the GT-I9100 Update4 source base"

I truly believe so, I remember in one of the discussions that the developer used some sources from the korean version kernel.

It seems you have not searched at all, since the info you need is easily available in the general section.

OK obviously, you have some reading to do. Read Zephyrots guide in the general section.
BTW, 4.4 is KitKat and it's in development. I suggest installing CM10.2 or below.
