Ok I got my replacement hero today. Sprint overnight shipped it (impressed). After I activated it I immediately rooted and flashed my favorite rom. Phone is running great until I notice that the screen has a dingy yellow tint to it! I called sprint and had them document the issue. I am now going to return to stock 1.5 and walk my butt into the Sprint store and ask for another replacement. Anyone else have this issue?

I'm using a refurb from about 2 months ago and no issues here at all.
It's probebly just a fluke, I wouldn't worry.

Lol. You guys are funny. But the great thing about this situation is that now they are going to replace my replacement in which building my case stronger for them to just switch me to an evo haha (only in my dreams).

hey if u come up there and complain enough they might! my brother had like a $200 phone i want to say it was a palm, but he went thru like 4 phones, they upgraded him to there most expensive phone (which was the htc uhh...with winmo) he had 4 upgrades over a year for free cus sprint couldnt give him a solid phone they didnt **** up!

Well I took my phone to sprint, they also noticed the yellow tint. They replaced it on the spot. So now I have my third hero everythings great until 3 hours what do I see? DUST UNDER THE SCREEN! You can never win I guess. I suppose I will give it a few weeks then call sprint and demand a different phone (evo)

Most people i know don't use the phrase "bust a nut" to mean QUITE what you seem to. In fact, in my state, if you walked in to the sprint store and "busted a nut" all over the place, they would take you to jail (as opposed to giving you a new phone). They may even make you purchase any phones that receive...um....collateral damage?....from your nut-busting.

well just bought ma hero 2 months ago from bestbuy and guess wath my phone was self ressetting well unrooted and back to stock 30 min later phone still self resseted and screen went black i could here sound but no visual..than like 2 hrs phone just died today i went to sprint repair center thinking am getting a replacement (new)phone since mine was just 2 months old guess wath..
technician tells me usb port is bad and they need to replace with refurbi got pissed but they managed to convince me to take refurb after activation i noticed phone is all acratched up and the power button dont work most of the time,,i tell the mananger he tells me he will order a new refurb for saturday i tellem hell no another refurb no..he says waths wrong with a refurb i say this is wath wrong with a refurb,,,he laughed and said is either a refurb or nothing use these phone as a loaner and wait for saturday for ur refurb..so here i am waiting for sat for ma refurb i made like 6 call techs,supervisors,cancel my servive representatives and they said its card policy after 30days ull get refurb no matter wath..
any ideas am just pissed//
Act like the ETF is no big deal, and ask for the cancelation papers. Theyll fold.

i tried that over the phone and they said when do u want ur service terminated and will send u the bill....i havent tried the store but wath about if they bring out the cancellation papers and wath do i do i just renewed 3 lines 2 months ago???
In person theyre likely to back down, especially if you have a high bill.

Take a different approach. Be nice but firm. You are unhappy obviously. But I have found with sprint or anyone else for that matter is that if you are rude they will treat you the same way you are treating them. Customer service is not what it used to be.

i was acutally polite i talked to the store manager for like 20 min i work like 5 blocks from the store and the manager said it was policy he even gave me my repair ticket and wrote replacement should arrive sat 5\16
before 3pm
and his signature..
catually sat is ma due day to pay my bill u think i should go with money on hand ask to speak to him handem my last bills money and tellem that i want my account terminated ..my bill is not that high $140 for 3 lines everything unlimited,,

My nexus one has the overheating and rebototing issue, and HTC was nice enough to replace it free of charge! HOWEVER they have sent me three broken phones so far, waiting on the 4th. (1st didn't recognize sim, 2nd rebooted even more than mine, 3rd GPS doesn't work) .
Anyone have luck with warranty exchange? Am I just extremely unlucky??? I'm using various stable and nightly cm builds as well as the stock roms ...
Maybe we should put together an imei database of broken phones and see if they're just shipping out the same broken phones ...

Took me 6 tries to eventually get a working nexus from HTC swaps.
Guess you still have a ways to go
Only thing keeping me from ripping HTC's head off was the fact that their customer service reps are so nice and helpful making the warranty swap painless
I've had a similar experience... had to swap out my phone 5 times in order to get one that didn't reboot randomly/ or had the power button issue.
Hey 7th time's the charm for me! At least they don't make a fuss about it, keep trying, they'll get it right eventually.
Well dropped my Samsung epic in the pavement and now its green even during bootup and in download mode. Any ideas what I broke and if it can actually be fixed?

Put it in Download mode (while it's green)
Halfway during Odin unplug it then take it into sprint and tell them you dropped it...
and its always green also delete everything on your SD Card...
Don't have insurance ???
well some people have said they cracked their screen and sprint fixed it for them w/o the insurance for 35$ i believe if my memory is accurate...

Download Galaxy S Tuner from the Market (it's free), and see if modifying any of the screen settings will do anything. If not, do what the guy above said and unplug it during Odin.
Lol it looks like nightmode in chainfire3d pro. But seriously you probably knocked loose the video cable to the samoled. You might need a trip to sprint repair center I'm pretty sure its 35 dollars if you don't have insurance

Haha what are the odds green lantern just came out this weekend and my phone turns green. Ill try the tool suggested but if all fails ill see what sprint charges me. Another idea is my wife has insurance on her EVO maybe I could put my phone on her plan and do a switcharoo. Sux cause I only took the insurance out recently on my epic. Trying to cut corners as much as possible. Since money isnt like it use to be.

No harm at all. Im a fan of all the marvel and DC movies. So for me it was def funny that my phone became green .. Worse comes to worse ill have to live with it until my 2 year is up. I may just steal my wifes EVO she can live with the green since she only really uses the phone as a phone anyway

I dropped my fone about 30 feet got and a yellow tint + major dets etc.
sumtimes messing with the slider I could get it normal.
I took it to sprint and used my tep and got free non refurb replacement.
As others said u can probably can get it replaced for 35 bucks if u brick it.

I had a green screen, didn't drop it. Battery pull fixed it.

Thanks guys. I took the green machine to Sprint and just told them it turned green and showed them. So was honest . So as mentioned it is only 35 bux so hopefully I pick it up today and they actually fixed it.
You could use cyanogenmod...lmao. use the renderfx widget see if it helps maybe something can counteract the green
Green monster has been vanished. Back to my color friendly Epic. Sprint fixed it and it seems like they replaced something. Because the dent that I had on the side of my phone is gone that I got when the GM was unleashed. I know they didn't replace the phone as a whole because there is some scratches that I remember are still there. Now I'm debating if I should get insurance Sprint asked me and I have 30 days to decide.
Well, TEP costs $8 a month - or $96 per year. If you have to replace the whole phone...
To me it is a justified expense, and one that I've had to use several times over the years.

especially if your flash-happy like I am. I can't tell you how many roms I've tested that, in retrospect, I probably shouldn't have, lol. my local sprint store thinks my apartment has electrical problems and is surging the phones into bricks... let them think that

so my tablet died completely, can't unroot won't charge i called new egg i am 4 days over my exchange period and they told me that they would make me an exception and send me a rma so i can get a new one.. what verison of t.f. has everyone been getting from new egg exchanges, i was hoping that i can get a tegra 2. i am very shocked on how great new eggs customer service actually is even though they don't speak great english, they left me feeling very happy and satisfied now why the hell can't sprint be that way.

what do you mean you hope you can get a tegra 2? your TF101 that died and you are trying to send back has a tegra 2 processor in it already so you have had a tegra 2 this whole time.

Alot of people like Newegg because of their customer service. Newegg specializes in computer parts, they know **** happens.
Newegg is amazing. I have purchased every computer component I've ever owned through them.
I don't think the egg is quite as good as Amazon, but definitely in a strong second place.
Did you tell them your machine is rooted tho?
They can still reject the rma if they found out the unit is rooted.
After all rooting the device voids all warranty of the device
been a newegg customer for over a decade. my most recent awesome experience was a bought a 42" LED-LCD tv. when turning it on, all i saw were vertical lines and none of the buttons did anything. they gave me a UPS return label and replaced it and now i have a perfect tv. i hate companies that make you pay return shipping, which is why i have stuck with newegg for years.
i got my TF at newegg too!
They dont know the device is rooted however it will not power on not charging wont do anytging so that might be hard to find out with the device not powering on,at all

So last year I bought this Galaxy Tablet, and I've have loved it. Problem is, after the ICS update it developed a problem.
I would get a red x over my battery icon and the recharge rate would drop dramatically. After dealing with the foreign customer service crew, repeating my story about 5 times, I was finally allow to send the tablet back to Samsung for a repair. Two weeks went by, and finally I got my tablet back. First thing I did was plug it into my dock station.
Red X over the battery.
Took the tablet to Best Buy thinking perhaps my cable was bad, but still, red x over the battery.
Called Samsung again, foreign customer service is awesome, I had the guy inform me that this issue is a normal issue and not something Samsung delt with. Really? If it's not something Samsung deals with why did they repair it the first time.
So I told him if they were not going to stand behind their product that I'd just revert it back to the Gingerbread OS, to which I was informed I couldn't do. LOL.
I never did get an answer to what Samsung did with my tablet while they had it.
So after finally dealing with two other Foreign correspondents, I finally was able to send my tablet back to Samsung for round 2 of repairs. This time it appeared that they replaced the 30 pin input jack, something I found to cost a couple hundred dollars to buy outright, and received my tablet back about a week later. This was of course after the warranty ran out and they tried to back out of the repair completely.
So the tablet arrived, plugged it back into my dock.
RED X ON THE BATTERY.
Seriously? I mean wth did they do to my tablet while it was there? So this time, I called them again, and they have decided to give me a full refund of my Purchase.
So after a year, I'll be getting 500 bucks back.
Bottom line, don't deal with the foreign crew, ask for executive customer service. That will get you to the Americans, who actually make a valid effort to help.
I wasted a ton of time dealing with those guys.

Sorry to hear about your inconvenience but the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was launched with 3.1 and up dated to 3.2 before 4.0. Both the said versions are called Honeycomb. Gingerbread is 2.3.

Does Samsung handle customer service for the Tab 10.1 differently than the Samsung Galaxy phones? I cracked the screen to my GS III phone and the tech support people (and location I sent it to) were both in Texas.
