So I've been searching to flash a new ROM on to my Mytouch4g & I finally have found a ROM that I would like to flash, the only problem is that for the ROM, it sais I need to flash thier new boot.img. I've browsed, searched, looked through countless threads trying to find out how to flash the boot.img, but to no avail. If someone could please send me in the right direction, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Heres the ROM that I'm trying to flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434887
I tried just flashing it without flashing the boot.img, but the installation crashes unfortunately.
Like I said, any help is greatly appreciated...
I don't see where it says to flash the boot.img, but here is how.

Hi guys,
I have a Motorola Defy which I have flashed CM7 (2ndInit) and also have a multi boot setup.
I would like to restore back to stock but I am slightly confused. I have done some research and I need obtain the correct SBF file and then I found the following link:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_jordan/list.php
My device is a UK Orange device and I found the device file:
JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_177-003_OR_SIGN_SIGNED_USAJRDNEMARAB1B8ORAGB03E.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYOORAGB_P018_A007_M001_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf.gz
But I am confused as to what to do, do I simply flash the above file? If so how?
Many Thanks

Ok further research and looks like I need RSD Lite to flash this file.
So I just flash this and im back to stock and 2ndInit and multi boot will be gone?
If I wanted to go back to custom ROM would it be the same process as before? I read somewhere about not being able to downgrade certain stock firmwares
Questions go in the Q&A section
ok sorted! I flashed the file but resulted in a boot loop. I hard reset the device and flashed again and everything worked great

You cant flash a zip with the stock recovery.
Or were you trying to update via local update and an update.app? And where did you get the version that you tried to flash? Go read on this forum. Theres a search that might help you too.
Have a nice evening
I was trying to install the update.app file from stock recovery and it doesnt work :/
Hi,
i'm using odin v.3.10 and i'm trying to set up a custom rom but odin can't read the zip file. i tried to read articles about this problem but nothing useful.
hope you can solve this problem for me.
thanks in advanced
Hello everyone.
I started to try some custom roms that I found here but by a mistake I deleted the stock firmware, and I was unable to make a backup from it, luckily I found the stock rom and I downloaded it, but I'm not sure if the installation process is the same, just throught the recovery as the custom ones, because the stock rom I found has an extension that ends in ".tar.md5" and is not like all the roms you can find here;
BTW the stock rom is this one, I found it from sammobile: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note-4/firmware/SM-N910H/TPA/download/N910HXXS2DSB2/259264/
I'll really appreciate any help that the community can bring to me.
Thanks and good day
You'll need Odin , android drivers and a pc.
