New to Iconia need help with roms

Hello,
I just purchased a used Iconia and I have on idea how to install anything on this thing.
I am a huge newbie at this, so don't laugh.
How do I tell if its rooted or not? I am on android v 3.0.1,
Acer_a500_1.141.07_com_gen1
I don't know the differences between the roms, but I want to install this one
Stock/HV/Taboonay V3.7 for HC 3.2 16-10 - 1.64Ghz
Any guidance would be great . Thanks

Rom request - Gateway a60

Hi Everyone
I've read alot about the gateway a60 being just a rebranded Acer Iconia 500.
I can confirm that the downgrade/root/flashing iconia ROM worked.
I Was wondering if anyone had the original Gateway braded software, just in case I have to return my tablet?

I have been looking too but have come to terms with the fact that this tablet is not going anywhere -)

Thanks. I thought because I was asking about a specific rom that this would be the right place to post, Thanks for the heads up.

Follow the link that Erica posted. Looks like using the acer rom might not void the waranty. Afterall, I ran the acer update on my tablet WITHOUT rooting it.
Afterwards I was able to root it with all the acer methods/tools.

[Q] iconia 200 ad-hoc ?

Just wanted to know if there was a method to get ad-hoc on a not rooted iconia a200? I was reading on the a500 forum and saw this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287555&page=51 there is a zip file for ad-hoc but I didn't know if that would work for my situation. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
