My galaxy tab gt-p6800 was locked after failure with unlocking the pattern lock, my younger brother tried unlocking the pattern and he failed three times. after that, a window popped up and he pressed "ok" right away and we couldn't read what was written. and it turned off after that. and since then, when I try to turn it on, the samsung screen appears and it stays the way it is.
can anyone please tell me what is the problem exactly? how do I solve it?

I'm would assume my bootloader is locked but when I got my phone and turned it on for the first time the boot logo said Samsung with a unlocked logo underneath. I haven't seen it again since. I can get into download mode does that mean it's unlocked? If by chance it is not I would love to be able to help I can follow instructions but I'm no developer. Let's hope that it is and that it can help
Edit: found how to tell and I'm just as locked as everyone else. To check get into download mode and in the top left write protection will be enabled if you are.

You sure you got a new phone? that unlocked logo means its been rooted.... weird you would get one rooted right off the bat.

Just so you know, the "WRITE PROTECTION: ENABLED" message has nothing to do with the bootloader being locked. Don't get me wrong; you're still locked up as everyone else, but that particular message is not how you tell.

I'm in Mexico and the biggest carrier Telcel is going to have the exclusive on the SGS4 for a couple of months.
Apparently we are going to receive the same version as AT&T (SGH-i337) with Qualcomm processor.
Do you guys think our bootloader is going to be locked? How to know if it is locked?
I'm also from Mexico and would like to know if the BL is unlock.

Yeah I would also like to know. Im in Puerto Rico and we have the i337M in our carrier Claro PR and I would like to know how can we tell if bl is locked.

hi, i recently tried to root my Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 by following the steps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40747604
but i keep ending up with failed root. i've already reset it multiple times to factory settings and tried again but still no change.
what could have gone wrong? Please help.

you mean SIM unlock, yes? cell un locker.net worked for me, as did free method. i was going overseas, tried free method which worked with t-mob in USA, but wanted the code just to be safe.
You could use the search function and read the threads that are just like yours: "how do I unlock when free version fails" type thing.
Yes it takes a few minutes to review the first few pages of the general and QA forums, or to use the search function, but I promise you that others have already posted solutions that worked for them.

Thanks for all the replies. As I have said, I tried the free ways of unlocking and the buying the code way to unlocking. But still no luck. I can not get it to sim unlock. Anyone having this problem?

I'm the same boat here bought the code (2 places same code), code will not unlock, now I'm on CM10, but I can not find anywhere that ROM version makes a difference to unlocking did not with teh Atrix and S3 I unlocked. Still kind of stuck, Maybe is it is the F3 modem or something else, really just do not know or understand why I'm encountering issues since other than this thread everyone seems to be having no issues.

It works, you missed a step somewhere, try once again. It is the US version you have correct?
Need held unlocking sgh-i337m Telus version
I am new at this. First post ever.
Followed the instructions here to free unlock my phone
Went through the steps twice and did not unlock my device.
So I thought I did something wrong so I went to try one last time. However this time the phone won't allow me past the 1st step.
I enter: *#0011#
Then menu back
Then menu input 1
And at this point the phones restarts. It won't allow me to the full service menu.
Can someone help me please.
The phone is brand new and at one point the was a Samsung update the was downloaded and installed. Don't know if this download changed the system and access to service menu
For some people it fails doing the free method even though they followed it correctly and jt messes up something internally that prevents even the official code from working. The only work around to unlocking it at this stage is via a service called FastGSM from what I've read.

fastgsm cable does not work if your baseband version ends in anything later than ME1. Mine is MF3 and I did not understand this until after I bought the software for USB cable unlock from fastgsm. I have not found any method that will work for me so far.
This is old, but I just want to say that usb cable unlocking worked for me where others failed

So I know you can unlock the S4 using the service mode by going *#0011# and a bunch of other codes, I've done it on a friends phone a few months back and it worked perfect, but now it doesnt work on mine, I cant get to the service menu at all, when I go to 0011 and then do back, key input 1, back, it just stays on the info screen, it doesnt go to the menu, nothing else works. I'm on 4.2.2 is that why? if so is there any guide as to how to downgrade? and i dont want stock, i want the samsung one, thanks

hey. i unlocked mine a few weeks ago so i don't remember the details but one thing that i do remember is that *#0011# didn't work on mine either. i think i used *#9090#, but i honestly can't remember. you can give it a try. i hope this helps.
I encountered this issue before, I found out that you have to downgrade your current touchwiz firmware to an earlier one. I was then able to access the menu. It took me a while to figure this out because Google results gave me nothing.
For the longest time I was wondering why so many people were able to access it but not me. Samsung changed the firmware for phones made in June/July, I found that out after realizing all the people who tried this method was when it was early released.

exactly you have to downgrade to I337MVLUAMDJ if not you can't access the menu mode. If you are on AMG1 firmware and you go the *#9090# and try to access it reboots the phone. My experience is i downgraded got in menu mode did all the steps. Inserted another sim and it still asked for an unlock code. Could be possible this method doesn't work? I'm on Rogers by the way which is pretty much the same. If anyone has done this please tell me how I'm confused. I just did an S3 2 days ago with the menu mode and it worked. Hope this helps some people out.

I've got a 2°hand Galaxy S5 SM-G900V, and forgot to delete old accs on it, and made a hardreset...ofc its locked now, and the man whos i took the phone just dont remember those things.
The fact is, its full updated and theres no way to inject something via odin, always "Fail(auth)" and also no way to get on the browser, with a hard work i took on some screens of the verizon messenger and theres some links, when you click it a msg pop up saing browser wont open for security reasons.
Im extremly sad with this fkin thing, cause this s5 was so expencive, even if its 2°hand... And i took it for a gift to my wife :crying:
Could someone please help me with this ?

Use this service to gain access to your s5, cost is $20. They'll give you a username and password. You'll be able to use the phone but you won't be able to take reactivation lock off. Now flash official firmware, lollipop version using odin. Root the phone and follow the guide below to get on NCG. Then on NCG you'll be able to take reactivation lock off permanently. After that flash marshmallow PF4 and you'll have an updated S5 with reactivation lock off. I was in the same situation except i bought mine brand new and the password didn't work. Samsung refused to help me take the lock off and i was locked out of my own phone even after i provided proof that it's my phone. This is what i had to do and my S5 works great now....good luck!
