I thought i would create a new CMW flashable zip for people on orange uk moving to Custom Roms, or even those who are on generic firmware but don't have this capibilty.
It basically enables Signal boost technology (UMA) for our Galaxy S II when in low signal areas.
This CMW zip works perfectly. This zip is tried and tested on AOKP (Hydrog3n ICS) using Siyah Kernel.
However Give me and others feedback on if this works for you on other Rom's.
Remember this is Orange Network only!
Find the zip attached.
Just flash in recovery.
Here's an emergency link in case the xda one becomes unresponsive....

Can I just confirm this is only for the orange branded S2 that contains nfc? The reason I ask is I have an unbranded S2 on the orange network (through phones4u)
I'm guessing this is no good for me?

wondering that too. Im on t-mobile but in my flat it defaults to orange most of the time due to bad signal.
The older GB version never worked on T-mobile so i doubt the ICS version will either

Just flashed it. Now to see if there is any difference.
I installed it and now I have no signal at all. When I go to networks it says please insert sim. I've rebooted several times and have also taken the battery and sim out and put it back in.
I have an orange sgs2 but with sim free firmware installed from odin.

1. Go to This Link and download the 3GTurboCharger_Installer_Update_3_RC11_Test_1.sh.pdf file, which should, as far as I know, be the most recent update.
2. Download an app called SManager from the Play Store ( I downloaded the one with the adds). Link To It On The Play Store
3. Open up SManager on your phone, the first time you run it it will give a pop up box, you have the option to enable "Browse as root" select that and give it root rights.
4. Browse where you downloaded the script to, on my phone it's in "/mnt/sdcard/Download" click it and there will be a pop up asking you how you want it to run, the
only thing that you should do is click the little skull and crossbones icon that has "Su" written underneath it, near the top left corner of the menu, wait for the icon to
turn green and then click "Run".
5. You will now be brought to a menue with a list of things to choose from, I chose option 4, to be on the safe side, rather than option 5, so tap your screen to bring up the keyboard and just put the
number of whatever option you want to go for, so for me it will be "4" and then just press the enter button on the keyboard.
6. Wait for the installation to finish (It takes a maximum of about 10 seconds) then it will ask you to choose an option, type "12" and hit enter, to reboot your phone to apply the new configuration, and enjoy the awesome speeds!
If you need any more help, or if you're not clear on something I've written, don't hesitate to ask and I'll do my best to help you out!

Well, I beg to differ, before used the script, I was getting 5mb down speeds consistently, now that I have used the script, I've done 3 tests, all of which are 10mb+, if it was just a placebo, I highly doubt it would still be on the XDA Forum

Hey
im on the same network and phone, ive come from the note 1 which i flashed regularly, but haven't felt the need to try custom roms on the note 2, the stock rom works as i expected it to, wasn't the case with the n1, still a great phone.
here's the 2 stock roms ive tried, DMG1 being the latest, and for me there's a noticeable improvement, not huge but its snappier.

I have exactly the same setup and use phone for similar things, been using moon rom for the past 2 weeks. Great on battery, great for network speeds constantly up at around 15/16mb in a decent reception. Lots of modes but i use the standard resolution, if you opt for it dont forget to copy the systemui.apk over to the device from the rar to the device to get the taskbar on as theres a bug with the installer!

Hey,
Currently I'm on network Three in UK. My LG G2 is sim-free. As you know Three started to provide free 4g service. But the thing is in the settings menu there is no option to chose 4g connection , only GSM and 3G. I should get 4g service because I live in London and 4g works here since December. My software version is D80210f-EUR-XX. First time then I turned on the device I got a small app update which is called LteConfigs , but nothing happened after.

Try this one: type this code *#*#4636#*#* and then take first option and scroll down and then you can select only 4g. Maybe this works.

Try this one: type this code *#*#4636#** and then take first option and scroll down and then you can select only 4g. Maybe this works.

Hey,
Currently I'm on network Three in UK.

Are you sure the three 4g roll-out has reached your area? I'm on the same software version and can choose LTE in the settings menu.
Try putting a Voda/EE sim in and then check.

Yup, Yup, Yup, yup, yup, yup & yup!
See this thread. Unlikely you will see any LTE stuff on your G2 yet from all accounts but in reality what speedtest are you getting? From deepest darkest Berkshire I am getting OK results for 3G

check notice under pink 4G data writting.. they scrapped their 4G and they gonna be powered by EE : http://www.gsmarena.com/ee_and_three_combine_forces_in_new__pound1b_lte_deal-news-7726.php
I had this same issue. It turns out my phone was from Asia. Accessing the service menu does indeed enable it but only until you reboot your phone.
The only cure I found was to flash a UK stock rom. Very easy to do and now I have 4g everywhere I go (well almost) :good:

Hope this helps
I'm on Three. I bought an international D802 LG G2 from ebay. It had an d80220a-ame rom on it. Three didn't recognise it and LTE was not an option. So I reflashed with the Open EUR ROM using this method and it worked fine
