so i downloaded the gesture controll app on my iconia so i could hide the status bar on ICS with the ics locked bootloader and it works flawlessly... well almost flawlessly... when i do the three finger slide upwords on the screen the status bar dasapers. great huh. but it gets rid of my wallpaper... its the lite version of the app. any fix for this? i tryed to reapply it but it stays black. any help would be great
The app info says that's a known bug on all ICS devices, and will be fixed as soon as the dev actually finds a fix.
An easy workaround is to simply never show/hide the system bar while you're on the home screen. If you, say, hide the bar to watch YouTube videos, and then put the bar back before you leave the app, your wallpaper will (almost all of the time) not reset.

.... and I have some questions that someone can hopefully answer. I've searched thru the Nook Color forums but couldn't find anything relevant.
First: Installation to EMMC on my Nook Color was flawless and all my apps installed and ran without problem.
This CM9 release is AWESOME! Everything looks and works great!!! Its so nice to have all the icons look great without having to screw with LCD density.
Questions: First question really important... other two just annoyances.
1) Full Screen Apps: I have Auto Hide checked under System>Combined Bar. Yet the status bar will not go away when running full screen apps such as Angry Birds, PowerAmp, and Repligo Reader. Is there another setting somewhere for this???? Or is this something that's broken and waiting to be fixed????
2) Soft Buttons in the status bar: There are three buttons showing: Back, Home & Recent Apps. The Home button is redundant as the Nook button does that. The Recent Apps button is totally useless for me and I would like to change it to a Menu button. But I can't find any settings for the Soft Buttons like there was in CM7 under the CyanogenMod settings.
3) Power Control Widget: I was able to turn buttons off and on in settings for the Power Control Widget in CM7. That appears not to be the case in CM9.... I only need and want the WiFi and Brightness buttons. How do I select Power Control Buttons in CM9?????
Running CyanogenMod version 9-20120703-UNOFFICAL-encore
Take a look at the AOKP port for the nook by Krylon360 in the dev thread. All that is possible.

Some things fixed....
I was unable to download Zeam Launcher from Google Play.
Said my device was incompatible.
Bullfeathers......
Found the newest Zeam version v3.1.10, downloaded and installed it, and it works just fine.
Running Zeam fixed problem number 1 above.... with Zeam running, the status bar is moved back to the top and all my full screen applications work perfectly now.
Problem number 2 has changed somewhat.... no soft buttons now in the status bar. This isn't a real problem as I'm used to using Button Savior, which really helps when in a full screen app. It would still be nice to move the status bar back to the bottom and have the Back and Menu soft buttons, but I can live with the way it is now.
Problem number 3 is still valid and I hope someone out there knows something about it.
Thanks j8048188 (wild handle there!)
I'll check it out, but at the moment I'm now totally happy with this version of CM9 as it sits.
Started playing with this upgrade at 4:30 this afternoon and now have everything the way I want it for a while. Time to actually use it instead of hacking it!
About wifi and brightness buttons.
I don't think you really need them, as when you touch the clock a mini menu appears with sliding bars to adjust them both.
Unleashed from my Revolutionized Desire HD
I see what you mean... controls available by tapping the clock.
But that window is still two touches away before actually changing the brightness or turning the wifi on or off. While the power control bar is just one touch.
Hollow xda community. I am having an issue with my lock screen. I am running action launcher and the Pacman ROM. My issue is that the status bar clock disappears on the lock screen. I tried running the stock launcher and it still disappears. I've attached screenshots of my issue.

Nice wallpaper.
Do you really need the notification bar clock?
What happens when you pull down the notification shade?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
It's normal. Its because it shows the clock widget on the lockscreen already, so there's no point of showing it in the status bar as well.
Thanks. If I pull the notification shade down the clock appears but then disappears when I pull it back up. I understand that its not really necessary but I end up missing notifications because I think my status bar is empty. I know. Kinda stupid.
Anyways if there's a quick fix I'll be glad. Otherwise I can learn to live with it
I can't believe a developer hasn't created this yet.
I love the desktop lock feature of adw launcher. But my 4 year old will still accidentally pull down the notification panel and change settings.
So there has to be a way to add an in-memory app that prevents the panel from being pulled down.
I still want to be able to see the status bar, but just not be able to pull down the panel.
I know it's possible because I have widgetlocker and it prevents it from the lock screen.
Please put your development skills to the test!
I am stock; not rooted; and have both ICS Droid 4g, and GB Incredible 2.
Try GMD Gesture Control. With a gesture or on an app-active basis you can hide the notification bar, which in this case prevents the drawer from being opened. You still get an auditory notification, and if you're near another gadget, there are ways to get notified via browser, a backup phone, tablet, and in not too long, TVs & watches, too.
So glad to *not* hear "you" sent your boss a "drunken" nonsense text! It was the coloring apps combined with the incomparable, phone-endangering frustration (not mine) that got me to spend the $5.
adw launcher can already hide the status bar, thus locking the notification panel. But I want an app that let's me see the status bar but locks the panel (just like widgetlocker lockscreen does).
Any dev out there that can make this for me?
I just updated my N7 to the new KitKat, the status bar and soft keys only become transparent in Google experience launcher home screen (need to install GEL mannually), but within the app it is still two black bars. As nexus 7's screen real state constantly blocked by these two bars (terrible in landscape mode especially), I was wondering if there is a mod (e.g. mod the systemUI) to make both bars transparent.
This is certainly achievable as I have seen Samsung tabs all have transparent status bar out of box, and in 4.3 there was CyanogenMod that made it transparent, but there is nothing like these for KitKat
I prefer this solution other than hidding the softkey bars (such as GMD) because i don't want to change GEL, and I know in the future , new apps will be able to leverage the new immerse fullscreen so this problem is completely solved, i don't want to affect that function, but in the same time, i want old apps still able to use more screen real states.
please let me know if there is a solution to make this possible.
Thanks everyone!
Any one has figured this out?

Thanks, but Google experience launcher only provide transparent status bar and softkeys on homescreen, not inside app
to make it work inside an app, need to deeply mod the system UI file, in 4.2 CM10.2 has done it before successfully!

There are no icons in my status bar except some at the top right which I can't press. It's blank. Anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
I'm running Paranoid Android 4.6BETA6 on OnePlus One. Also the home button doesn't work (has feedback but does bring it to the home screen)
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I took a screenshot of the status bar (running Onyx theme to see if that fixed it, it didn't).
EDIT 2: Well, it has notifications through the pick up setting, but still not in the status bar. Also the lock screen won't trigger unless I restart my phone.
EDIT 3: Ahh, a factory reset fixed it, sorry for the question (and the very obvious answer), I just didn't want to lose my data.
