Maybe he doesn't use his phone as much as you do! and batteries wear out pretty fast too!
Does your dad know about xda? Oh.. right iPhone's dont have any development!
He might get more battery life (probably minimal use) but i HIGHLY doubt he gets "more" out of that thing than what your beautiful..sexy..ahem your nexus gives you.
Hahah true. Verry true

The dev is true but having both an iPhone4 and Nexus S in the house (And galaxy tab 8.9, iPad 2, HTC Sensation and One X) I can be pretty certain that you can use the iPhone a LOT more than the Nexus between charges.
The Nexus got massive improvements with 4.x though, that must be said.
Hey, am I the only one who saw the "iPhone has been plugged in since the last full charge" message??
Doesn't this invalidate the comparation?
You can hate on apple all you want people but stop with the fanboy nonsense.
It is a fact that the iPhone/ios gets far better battery life then nexus s/ android period. No if ands or butts about it.
What's next ? Blackberrys don't really have better battery life ?

In the end it doesn't really matter how much the battery can last for , but the user experience. The nexus is still better than anything.
The one I complain about about is the lack of games in the market..

Screen size is nonsense. Take a Android phone will the same 3.5 screen. Battery is still way worse.

And don't forget about set up . As I learned from skunkape and john Corleone from the 4g thread , set up goes a long way. These guys get close to a day and sometimes more with 4-6 hours screen on time. I get 13-18 hours with a little less screen on time. Many screen shots were provided to reflect this . To me , none of the phones are bad . Its all in what you like.

I agree that iPhone would still win the match. In the end we have to balance everything that we want in a smartphone, so it turned out that android features weighted a little more in our case

Right, that screenshot tells nothing. The numbers are since the last full charge, but don't say anything about how long it's been partly charged since then. Useless.
Fact is: I have two colleagues with an iPhone 4 and a 4s, both about the same setup (syncing apps) and usage. None of them ever lasts through the day, while I normally go to bed with 20-30%.

I'm guessing English is not his first language.
I could barely understand what you are asking for, but I doubt Quad Cores will give you good battery life. The Atrix is already big enough with its dual core CPU and somewhat mediocre battery life. I would say go with the Atrix, thing is a beast once you flash a custom ROM onto it!
tegra 3 i heard it has an extra core (5 instead of 4) for idle processing so that instead of all the cores running at low speeds it has only one running to conserve battery or so nvidia said

Atrix would be the best phone ever if it had a 4.5+inch screen, 4inch is small nowadays.
In my opinion, the Atrix is the best all-rounded phone I've ever owned.
Snappy speed, perfect sized screen, excellent battery life, good loudspeaker, lots of memory

Yes, 4+1 as they say. I believe its clocked are 500mhz for small tasks
I still think the Atrix is an awesome phone. I just purchased one over the Atrix 2.
How big of a freaking phone do you want in your jacket or pants pocket? I don't know about you, but I don't want a huge device in my pocket. I want a size that is large enough to get stuff done, but not be so huge where it sucks down the battery and becomes a pain to carry around.
I really think a 4.3" screen is the limit. I liked the smaller 4" screen on the Atrix better because it would obviously suck a little less battery down and its just the right size with a case on it.
HTC just announced the One X with a 4.7" screen?! I mean c'mon, WTF, if you want to carry that beast around thats great, but have fun.
The "bigger is better" theory with cell phone screens does not ring true for me.

expandable memory and removable battery or no?
Despite it not being quadcore doesn't the snapdragon s4 still beat out the tegra 3?
Either way it's going to be a tough choice when my upgrade comes around. The verge review of The One X said the display was the best they'd ever seen. Since they usually lean towards the iPhone in every phone comparison I'll take that as the phone is nearly flawless.
Galaxy SIII is going to have to be pretty awesome to trump this imo.

Expandable memory yes, removable battery no. The battery, however, still packs a 2000 mAh battery; it should easily get you through the day (considering the One X has an 1800 mAh battery, and it gets through the day easily).

Sort of on-topic: Can someone explain why a removable battery is so important to some people. I don't get it. The comments on a lot of the reviews for the one x and inevitably the announcements of this phone are like:

1. Batteries wear out over time, may want to replace it if you plan on keeping the phone for a long time.
2. You're going to be out all day and can carry a spare and not worry about micromanaging your battery life all day. (I've got 3 for the Epic)
3. You can use a better battery of the same form factor if one becomes available, like all the OG Epic users with the 1800mAh from the touch.

Yeah I get that. I think it's a nice feature to have but I won't take a phone I like less just because I can remove the battery.
No brand loyalty for me! I will consider this phone as one of my upgrade options that I have been sitting on. I like the specs and looks.
Are you guys crazy? They took a truly amazing phone design (one x) and butchered it to all hell. Now it looks just like the other evo phones (i. E. Dated). Yes the guts are awesome but half of what made the phone so nice was the physical design. So sad. Why can't sprint leave things alone when it comes to these matters. We don't have to look any further than our own phones to get another example of completely changing an already great phone.

XDA is a forum, and in the General Questions section it actually is a "I'ma post anything that comes to mind," as long as it's a question that pertains to category (in this case Samsung Galaxy S3). It's a great question that cuts through initial hype of the phone and asks users if after using it for a bit it still holds up to all that hype.
Again, the S3 is fantastic.

bump ^^this is a great question, i find more often then not that things tend to have an allure from the outside looking in that just isn't the same once you are on the inside, but people tend to hide their disappointment from the masses due to the fact that they spent the last 2 months harping on about it's awesomeness.
You definitely have to get used to them. I'd suggest finding a friend that has one and play around with it for ten minutes or so. If it's still not to your liking then wait for another powerhouse phone to come out (there should be a few more this year) and hopefully that'll be what you're looking for. If you're able to get used to the buttons it really is a magnificent looking device. Good luck either way.
Here are some battery stats from my first day. I hope they get better. This is with all radios on syncing everything.

People ask questions in the general forum all the time. The only way I've been able to draw a distinction is the Q&A questions are almost always matter-of-fact. You ask "How do you do..." or "Does this phone have..." etc. I don't know if that's the way things are supposed to be, but its a trend I've noticed.
My GS3, never! The screen is great, the phone is responsive. TouchWiz, while maybe not as good as stock (though to be honest I actually think its launcher is nicer than stock; messaging etc. definitely not) brings lots of useful extra features. And best of all, I can use it for AGGGGGGES.
Regarding the buttons, I like the reassurance of having the buttons off-screen. The home button can be felt, and just tapping above the bottom edges of the phone will register as the other two, so you don't have to look down to make sure you don't miss.
nah i love my s3 and especially after using the s2 and smashing the screen i was using a $20 phone waiting for the s3 to come out and its all i hoped for.

So, here we all are. Looking for the next big slider phone to move to. The Photon comes along and while some specs are great, overall most people hate the fact that the SIM is locked and that the battery is not removable. Some of us, maybe all, would probably settle for it, because the idea is that another slider will not come for a long period of time. HOWEVER, I just unearthed this article and honestly, I would recommend giving it a month before we all jump ship and buy into the Photon, if that is your plan at least.
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/05/01/google-patent-application-hints-at-nexus-slider/
Although this is NOT a confirmation, it is still in the realm of possibility. It is worth waiting for, before we lock ourselves onto the Photon for 2 years.
Any thoughts/comments/info?
There is some truth to Google bringing out a Nexus slider soon. Google hired the G1 designer duo, they also came up with the design for the Xbox360.
NICE!!!!!! I just sprouted a tremendous woody!!!!
Highly doubtful. I wouldn't hold my breathe. The only logical choice right now for keyboard lovers is the photon. Especially since Motorola released something similar to HTCdev to unlock the boot loader.

My thinking on the Q, is will there be development, more to the point, will it get picked up by CM
A Nexus device will get dev support almost by default.
But the Epic taught me to be careful about my choice in phones, as lack of great development can drop a phone from awesome, to dam, wish I could get that mod.
Those who got the Epic on release day, waited for CM acceptance on the Epic, will understand why I'm a bit gun shy about one-off devices
This Epic post brought to you via Tapatalk 2 and CM9

I hope not. I'd hope it wouldn't be A9 at the very least. Krait or A15 are the high end.
That's it. I'm waiting. The PhotonQ is appealing to me, but I will wait to see if this pans out before I jump.
Now, should we start a pool on how long it will take Kenny to close this thread?

Just by looking at the keyboard I can tell that this isnt a Nexus Slider. Or at least not one that intends on being a phone.
To Heck With That Darn Photon ( seriously ? I'd rather hang on to my EPIC ... :good: ) THIS >>> http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/06/21/iphone-5-features-what-expect-this-fall/ <<< is the REAL winner on that page ...
P.S. = I am NOT about to lay down any bets on that NFNM ( he turns from Good Spidy to Bad Spidy really fast sometimes ... LOL = I Kid , I Kid !!! )

Its all about they keyboard layout. It doesn't match up with something that would create ease of use. This looks like a prototype for a Phablet and or Tablet.
Has anyone gone back to their iOS device and played with it? I pulled out my I phone and the thing feels like a damn toy..

I am coming from an iPhone 4S. While iOS feels better it is extremely limited and boring. I can change every aspect on my GSIII. After yesterday's court decision I am going to use my 4S even less now. Apple needs to be stopped.
My iPhone 4S 64GB have been collecting dust in the drawer since I got my galaxy s3. Haven't used it once. Thought I might give it to my 8 year old girl

I think the only place where the iPhone wins comes down to accessory support. For instance, my car stereo works very well with my 4S. However, when I plug in my GSIII into the USB port it doesn't recognize the songs on the SD card. My S2 also worked well with my car stereo. I think its because of USB mass storage.
Maybe this is me being nit picky but the iPhone also seems to respond to a touch better than any Android device. Just seems a little more fluid. The GSIII still beats it hands down though.
Here's a scary thought, because of yesterday's court decision do US phones lose "pinch-to-zoom" & "double-tap zoom in" starting with "Key-Lime Pie" and beyond?...

no they will not. it will be just a little more expensive due to the patents costs that Samsung will pay to mother of a sun rotten fruit.
i hope that everyone in the fruit computer company burn in a boiling pitt, even the cleaning lady.
edit: forgot. iphone is a phone for morons. do you know why? they even do not know how to activate the darn thing, and they also believe it will give them social status.
if you want social status buy a Beutiful Vertu phone.

If that happens will be great! Patents on the US is absourd and they have been using that against the world in many levels not only cell phones. The way things goes iStuff and MacFood will be the only crap allowed for US citizens xD
Maybe when US system start being evil not only to international intrests but also for US citizens intrests people will make a stand against it.

as long as samsung stick to android , i will continue to support it irregardless to stupid win/loss lawsuits which doesnt even benefit consumers, not gonna be a islave anymore
I've been meaning to buy a new laptop for so long but since getting s2 & s3 they perform nearly all my day to day needs which are quite basic. Tried using my 4th gen iPod touch which is the only apple product I have left and it's dead lol.

I sold SGS2 in March and bought iPhone 4S until SGS3 isn't available. When I recieved SGS3 I couldn't be happier, iOS is boring and limited. Also 3.5" display is a joke. SGS3 is much better in every area IMO.
