n00b needs help - Transformer TF300T General

Hello all,
Got my tf300 about 2 weeks ago and am loving it. I have one minor issue that I would love some input on. Whenever I am not using the tablet for a couple of hours and wake it back up, the wifi gets stuck on "obtaining IP address."
I have it set to keep the wifi on when sleeping but it still seems to cut out. I can make it get connection by unplugging my modem and router for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.
It's nothing big but just a little annoying to have to do this every time I want to start a new session.
Thanks in advance!
PS I am an uber noob with tech stuff so please dumb it down for me.

[Q] Wifi Issue

I looked around and could not find a thread about this.
I have a rooted fascinate with dl30 (froyo). Everything else is running fine.
But with Wifi on, my connection to the internet is fine until I stop using it. I have the wifi setting to never turn off.
But after about 5mins or so of leaving the phone alone my connection to the net seems to be lost. I will get no incoming emails, my connection to gtalk is halted. If I unlock the phone i can not pull up any webpages, gtalk is still disconnected and if i try to send an email it just sits there.
All of this remains that way until I turn wifi off and go to 3G. Then everything works again. If I turn wifi back on right after, everything works fine again and will continue to until I leave the phone alone for 5mins or so.
any thoughts?
If you have a thought but need more info from me feel free to ask.
Am I really the only one with this issue on this forum?
i just started getting this issue today.... i hope there is something that can be done.
I noticed it happening to me also. Very random though, only happens about once a day or less.
Same here.

Did it happen on 2.1? I am partly concerned because I ebayed the phone with 2.1 about 2 weeks ago. rooted, then installed froyo, so I didn't really get to see if it happened on 2.1, or if this is part of froyo. Was also concerned because a friend of mine, Nuance, also did the same thing, and came over to my house and had no wifi issues.

Just found an awesome work around to wifi tethering crapping out.

So as many people know and experience after awhile wifi tethering likes to crap out. Well I have discovered two things that help with this. The first and best is to tether without it plugged into a power source. I can tether for two hours straight with no problem if it's not plugged in. But tether kills the battery so I like it plugged in. After a little bit of that my data likes to just start turning itself on and off now stop. I found out If I force close phone.apk this stops and the phone acts like I just rebooted it (The only other thing that has fixed the 3g messing up while wifi tethering) . I hope this helps someone.

Any ideas?
ya man I got same issue.....some aren't having it apparently but I can barely be outside my room where wifi is located and its really starting to piss me off. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
wifi disconnecting
I haven't had this issue but got driven nuts by it on an HAIPAD m701, it was disconnecting about every 10 - 20 seconds. Fixed it after pulling all of my hair out by setting the correct time and date.
Probably won't help but I thought I would throw it in there just in case it does.

[Q] Bluetooth Turns itself off after 5-10 mins?....HALP :(

Evening all!,
Wondering if anyone else is having this issue with their note 3?
(i have the EU Snapdragon 800 version - sim free)
Everytime i turn my bluetooth on, it picks up on all devices in the area and connects fine.
HOWEVER... after around 5-10 mins, even if using the relevant bluetooth device, The Note 3 just turns bluetooth off and severs the connection, forcing me to manually turn it on again....
its currently driving me batty!! as i cant use my MOGA pro pad to play any games without it just dropping half way through and when playing music through my headset or speaker, it just stops the music dead...
this is nigh on a device breaking issue for me but coudl just be me doing something stupid (spent a good long while searching forums and cant find anything).
anyone else have this? or able to fix it?
cheers all!!
OK - I have just sat down and timed it... almost at EXACTLY 15 MINS, Bluetooth turns itself off if connected to ANY device. just had music playing through a bluetooth speaker - 15 mins - speaker gives disconnect noise and BT now off on device.
with the amount of bluetooth devices i use, this is making the phone almost un-useable. gotta wait till monday before i can talk to anyone at samsung and pretty sure they wont have a clue or will just ask for the phone to be sent away...
ANYWAYS. ill keep an eye on here if ANYONE can give any pointers as to what this might be?.
cheers again and hope to hear from you all
UPDATE - tried same speaker setup again right after and bluetooth quit out after 27 mins this time so it isnt consistent every time it gives up... this is sooo frustrating....
Is it possible you have a bum BT radio in your GN3?

Ive been messing around with it today and came to actually fix the problem by mistake!.
its the old "I.T Crowd" solution ...
i turned it off, turned it on again and problem fixed!..
proper weird, though that was the first time i have turned the device off since buying so must've just been a bit twitchy.
either way, happy as Larry now!

I am having the same issues now that you described earlier. I have had this phone since the beginning of October and no issues at all until about 3 days ago when BT started shutting down constantly. I have not timed it specifically but it is in the 10 to 15 minute rnage when it forces me to turn it back on. This is driving me nuts.
I have shut it off and turned back on with no luck. powered it off, removed the battery, let sit for a while and repeat. Same issue although at times it seems to be inconsistent. I did get the new Sony SmartWatch 2 so I am constantly loosing connection and reconnecting manually with it. I have had that for 2 weeks but only started having issues a few days ago.
Any other ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
Did you try wiping cache partition?
BT switches off exactly every 3 minutes
I've tried rebooting and switching off and on again to no avail!

[Q] Wifi battery and sluggish problems

In the past Ive been able to fix problems, this one has me stumped. Between the 3 or 4 android forums, theres usually a solution.
However, I havent been able to figure this one out.
N7 - 2012 - .4.4.3 - rooted (for stickmount compatibility) - stock img
I am adept at using the Unified Nexus Toolkit.
About a month ago my battery started to take a hit. It would drop ~30% just surfing the news sites in the AM.
Last week the text on some of the sites was a little screwed up, it looked like some alien crap, and started to go up and down.
Last week I had issues downloading a podcast. Took me 6-7 tries to get it.
Two days ago the wifi started to suck balls; I listen (stream) to podcasts to get to sleep, and it wouldnt connect.
- the wifi icon goes grey after 30 seconds
- after "turning off and turning on" wifi it goes white, then grey within 30 seconds.
- I tired a "wifi - fixer app" no good, it just shows a "connection failed" and "network check failed - trying again" message
- I get alot of the "google search has stopped messages"
- the whole system is sluggish.......
I have turned off "optimize wifi" in advanced setting no help.
(I have noticed the wifi fixer app likes to use/test with connecting with baidu.com - lolz)
My desktop has no issues, nor does my romets laptop. I suspect the problem lies within the tablet.
This morning I reflashed 4.4.2, doesnt seem to help I tried to go back to 4.2 but it wouldnt boot (I liked 4.2)
How/where do I fix the wifi issue?

I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear that (and mostly had that notion for yourself) - but this smells alot like a hardware rather than a software problem to me.
Cheers,
Nix
PS: Sorry for posting this *ehm* well, nonsense, but I needed to get my 10 post count full to be able to ask for some kernel issue in the development section.
Hope nobody feels offended - I know it's not welcome. But I don't understand that rule anyway if you obey the others...
Did you try a factory reset? That would tell you if it is hardware.

it would seem to be hardware based....I did a refresh, no wifi. I did a wipe and reflash, no wifi. Now I cant do anything without any apps DOH!
Im going tothe local cell fixit guy, and seeing about putting a new board put in it...might as well do the battery at the same time...o rmaybe buy a used one.
q#2
how does one push apps to the phone without wifi? I want to get stick mount so I can use it to watch movies off of a usb stick.
Find the ifixit teardown for the nexus7. Follow instructions to remove the back. Clean the WiFi antenna contacts on the motherboard, they are like gold plated leaf springs that touch the antenna points on the back cover. I bent mine a little bit out for a better connection.
