Hi guys!
What do you get on screentime on the gnote?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using xda premium
Over 9000!!!!!! (seconds).
The above statement is true but not necessarily accurate.
Just played Theme Hospital for just over 9000 seconds for a battery drop from 100% to 30%.
Most of the days i have around 4.5 hours of screentime...
Around 4-5 hours for me
Approximately 3.5-5hours depending on the day.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Also 3,5 hours of screen time.
When i bought it, it could do 4,5 hours, but my battery has 5 months by now, so ... in 2 months i will by another one, because ther is no other phone in sight that could replace my Note.

I've had this phone since October.. and battery life was meh, obviously.
About a month ago I switched to SRF Frozen, and the battery life was great. I was consistently getting 3 hours of screen on time throuh 12 hours use.
Then just out of nowhere, a couple days ago I've been getting 4 hours of screen on time and my phone lasting 16-20 hours.
I'm baffled, but in no way disappointed. I just found it really strange because I haven't downloaded any new apps in forever, and haven't changed my settings or usage at all.
This happen to anyone else?

Sounds like Sprint just erected a cell tower next to your home/work. This could definitely be attributed to better/more constant signal.

I'm guessing that could be it.. I just finished up a semester of college and went back home for the summer where I ALWAYS have full bars. When I'm at UMass I'm lucky to have 2 bars.
Wow I didn't know it made that big of a difference, especially since I'm alwas on wi-fi. Funny thing is, I get 4G when I'm at UMass and crappy evdo coverage, yet at home I get great evdo and no 4G.

I'm buying my dad an evo and I have a few questions
1)Will its battery last from 6am to 12pm with heavy calling and virtually no txts and internet use?
2) what would be good under volt settings for this phone?
thx
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
1. Yes. Six hours is fine even with really heavy usage (though every phone is different and I'm sure somebody has some horror story to refute me). Just tell him how to turn the radios off that he's not using. For me, I never use Bluetooth, rarely use WiFi, and when I do, they can be toggled on. Don't turn on 4G if you're not in a 4G area, that radio kills the battery. Just don't leave them on if you're not using them, let them be more "on demand". Rooting and getting a tweaked ROM/kernel will also help. I suggest VaelPak 3.2 with Netarchy, or better yet, Vaelpak GB with SavagedZen. See my sig for a link if you're interested.
2. Most people are good with -75mV, some can go higher (100 to 125 in one or two cases) but -75 seems to be the consensus. In addition, you can set different min/max CPU speeds (this is a native option in the latest VP GB beta). That way, the CPU will scale its speed based on usage. Most people go somewhere around 245mHz min to 998mHz max, or you can overclock a bit, or you can underclock so the max is only in the 500-600s. It actually doesn't make a noticeable difference in performance for some people, unless you're gaming and then you can bump it up again anyway.
LOTS of stuff to play around with to get the best battery vs. performance balance.

So how many hours it talk time and stand by time?
He might need an iPhone or a BB.

18 HOURS is asking a lot from a smart phone. It's not possible with the batt tech atm.
If the talk time is low then maybe.

No.
And as far as the phone lasting from 6 A.M. to 12 P.M. .... I believe it has about 6 hours of talk time (continuous). Take that for what it is, and given his situation. Can he not utilize a charger? Situation won't allow? As said, there are things that can be done to help 'manage' battery life, but that isn't going to yield some insane results. If he doesn't need data he could disable data, keep voice open, and see how that goes. I couldn't see that necessarily doubling the talk time. As mentioned, also, you can trial it for 30 days.
edit: slow on the draw
Maybe the Evo isn't right for him. Especially if you can't wrestle it from his old man grip for a return. Could a BB do?
He doesn't like bb because of the small buttons
I think I might just buy him an extra battery car charger and then under volt it od

Op mistyped. Either way, I would just wait a week for the 3d.
Evolution 3d probably wont have better battery life. You should buy him extra batteries with an external charger. He'll be fine with about 6..
Gimme a couple a days to come up with a new sig that is cool.
Lol yeah 6 am to 12pm is 6 hours.. 12pm would noon, so according to all the clocks I've ever looked at, it would be 6 hours. And yeah wait for the 3D. Probably same battery but might as well get a newer model.

I bought this kit with 2 3500mah batteries for 20 bucks and it is worth every penny.

I have run sense and aosp roms, both running 24-48 hours on one battery depending on use of course.
I got an extended battery from amazon for $7 with back and its a 3500mah. Last all day with everything running. No need to drive yourself crazy wondering, just spend $10 and get yourself something it will be well worth it. They have 1800-2000mah stock size batteries now from US distributors just search through eBay or Amazon
THE 1800 TO 2000 ARE CHINESE SCAMS . They're actually 1450/1550.

Has anyone ever tested their battery life by using a video run down test? I put it on half brightness and played Mission Impossible 4 and it ran the whole movie and most of it once I restarted. So in total I was able to get about 4 hours and 2 minutes in display on time. Which seems very low compared to other phones like for example the iPhone 4 can get about 8 hours of video playback.
Getting over 4 hours of screen on time with the tiny battery and inefficient hardware in the mytouch 4G is good. Get an iPhone if you don't like that.
