Thanks iPhone
Thanks in part to the iPhone, the existing customers are paying for it with less services than we initially had. These cutbacks are getting to be a bit ridiculous. What's next, they cut the unlimited plan?

That would be my guess get rid of unlimited plan. It's no wonder everyone is moving to prepaid because of the carriers own stupidity.

These carrier are going to kill the smartphone eventually. At what point do they think it always be worth it to people? If they think I'm going to pay $30 or whatever a month to download 2 apps and check Facebook onec a day because I'm worried about data, they're out of their minds.

What? No $10 premium data fee?

http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/15/sprint-plays-the-green-card-drops-10-data-surcharge-on-froyo-b/
Did anyone see this today? What the HELL is this? People with this phone don't have to pay to 10 dollar premium data fee, because it's a "green" phone? What the hell? Damn, I'll call sprint, and promise to save a gallon of water a day, and turn my lights off, if that will get me away from the 10 dollar bull ****.

Bull mutha ***** ish I'm calling tomorrow.
I'll gladly keep paying the 10 bones a month to avoid having my phone look like that.
This is crap. I'm paying $10 a month for DIAL UP 3G SPEEDS.
If you call sprint to complain about that....umm good luck I guess. I'm sure you'll get the "you can get that if you our has and activate this phone" crap lol

Yeah this is some bull.... and i will be calling right f..... now. F... waiting until tomorrow.
They are trying to sell the phone. Makes sense.
i bet $10 ill never see one of those being used in real life
I don't want to sound like a douchebag or anything... but you're talking about $10. I probably have $10 worth of change in the ashtray of my car and waste more than that on a daily basis...
EDIT: I realize that was kind of a **** thing to say, sorry. I guess, as a former Verizon & T-Mobile customer, I'm just used to bullsh** fees from mobile companies.

I might be able to ease my wifey off of BB into trying this phone at least. It's a step towards Android at least. lol
Honestly, I like the idea. Sure as cow **** wont buy it, but the idea is there.

Not trying to start anything, but it would make for a decent inexpensive phone for my 14 year old. Also sounds to me that they are just trying to promote people to be slightly environmentally conscious. To charge $10 extra a month for a phone that doesn't even come remotely close to specs the smart phones we're rocking would be more of a travesty than our $10 fee. IMHO.
Since its not 4g they can't justify the fee. Even thought they call it premium data.

It has nothing to do with 4G. The premium data fee applies to all smartphones now, not just ones that are 4G capable.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I bet if the phone wasn't as ugly as it is they wouldn't be waiving the fee....
You know Sprint was like, how the F... re we going to sell this ugly POS. Should we pay people to use it? Hmmmm, that's not profitable. Oh, I know...lets waive our BS $10 fee that shouldn't be there in the first place and people will think they are getting a bargain!
They better promote the Evolution 3D and get rid of the fee. If I remember correctly didn't the Evo come in an environmentally safe box?

How long befcore I get cancelled

I just got my letter today, finally, saying that I am using too much roaming data over the past 6 months and they will be monitoring me. Sprint service absolutely sucks in my area and unless I am on verizon I get crap or no 3g. I don't really feel like waiting till oct 7th to see if maybe (big maybe) my service gets any better.
I pay an extra 10 bucks a month for "premium data" so I should be able to use it!!
I have been waiting to get out of my contract with no ETF for a few months now so I am just curious about how long before they cancel me and will I be able to port my number to verizon once I do get cancelled?
Sent from my Epic 4G
U wont get verizon 3g with roaming either
And you will probably be blacklisted with the carriers i think
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Well, I roam on verizon with a modified prl and get full 3g off their towers constantly, anywhere I go. No one else has any input on this?
Sent from my Epic 4G
How much data on average are you using per month via roaming, just out of curiosity?
That only works if you roam a isht ton in areas that are known sprint dead zones. Anywhere else and they'll know somethings up
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
***** to them that you "WOULDT HAVE TO ROAM IF YOU HAD SERVICE. Don't penalize me for paying you for no service. It should DEFINITELY be the other way around, sir or madam."
See how they like them apples LOL

Spoke to sprint today
I spoke to Sprint today on this issue and since they do not offer quality service in my area and I am forced to roam in order to obtain good service (as i put it) they are waiving the ETF and I am able to move out of Sprint. I am not happy about this decision though. I love sprint where I have lived before in Florida and other places in Pennsylvania but here it is terrible. I will miss my epic and this community but I am doing what has to be done.
Have fun paying triple on verizon
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Id leave too, check out T-Mobile they offer better 4g speeds as well as quality phone. The mytouch slide series is pretty nice if you want a keyboard. They also offer alot of their phones free online.
Do your research.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
i'm about to jump ship too... i'm realizing how much better other carriers service is in areas i'm struggling in. i'll go pay a premium for better service if i have to.

**DELETE THIS THREAD** Grandfathered Unlimited Plans Going Bye Bye

Hate to say it but grandfathered unlimited plans are going bye bye.
That is if you update your line. You can keep it as long as you don't update you cell line.
But when you upgrade to you next phone you'll lose your unlimited plan and you can either get 2GB for $25 or since we have unlimited data now we can get 4GB for $30....
Damn you AT&T.
Update: You get to keep it. Some AT&T rep didn't know what she was talking about.

pretty sure that's not true, our you would have heard a mass of **** from the online world, especially the new iPhoners. you just got a CSR who didn't know what they were talking about
Called AT&T... was told my grandfathered plan would remain unlimited when/if I choose to upgrade my phone.
If this had become their policy, I think we would have seen this posted & screamed about already... thinking that the person you talked to didn't understand what you were saying, or was just a moron.

Good point. I was so pissed. I'm going to call back tomorrow and talk to a different person. They better be right.
I have a US Naval Federal Account so they can't remove or modify anything without talking to my IT guy.
I'm a sales rep at At&t this is not true...and mostly incorrect word of mouth. Nothing down the pipeline of csr info and simulations of anything close to explaining away a unlimited data not being available to existing customers a BB and iPhone and a messaging phone I did yesterday alone all had the unlimited data two up another equip change so. No when your told something remotely like this situation explained, that is when you hang up and call again. Though any New Lines on existing plans or straight new can not get unlimited data minus other referred methods available via search.

I'm sorry folks Correction with my previous post. Sprint end of premium customers by 12/31
Sprint sent me a letter said "premium customers program cancel" I called customer service she said " it doesn't mean cancel for unlimited data plan and no more premium customer and offer like $5 credit or 25 minute offer etc " Make sure you have to upgrade your plan before the expiration date. Other wise sprint reset your contract automatically for two years. Which is you can't stay with out contract

I want to switch right now!
If you go to t-mobile's site, and click on Individual plans.. you can see it's already implemented "As Unlimited Nationwide 4g"
But when you log in to my t-mobile, it's not an option under services Guess they're still working on it, hah

Buuuuuuut that's not needed because IT'S THERE!
Unlimited Nationwide 4G
Unlimited 4G data on T-Mobile network for accessing the web, streaming music and HD video, and downloading cool apps—as much as you want. No limits and no overages.
Now to test FoxFi, hahaha

If you had the $10 Android plan that they gave out to preferred customers, you'd have a $20 price increase..
But those of us who were unable to get the $10 deal.. 2gb was previous $20.
Considering 5gb was $35, I'd say $30 for completely unlimited is a damn good deal, lol
Did anyone else just lose data? It's redirecting me to a "choose a plan" page but when I click it, it says I have a data plan. Weird :| That was on my phone, non-tether.
