you can't sync wp7 with outlook! contacts need to exported to a live acct or gmail and synced with wp7. i believe the only direct synch is if you connect to an outlook server acct. there post either in this forum or the themes and apps forum on outlook. do a search for answers before posting questions.

It's public that with WP 7.5 tasks can be sync'ed (http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/f...gestions/1549655-sync-outlook-tasks-and-notes). In practice, i'm asking if these developed WP 7.5 ROMs are compatible / work with Outlook 2007, since Outlook 2010 doesn't have Tasks.

anyone knows if it's possible to have active sync installed in HTC hero? Our OS at work is windows 2000 which HTC sync doesn't support.
I just want to sync my outlook calendar with my phone. Syncing outlook to gmail also doesn't work since our outlook version is 2000 which not supported by google calendar sync.

As far as I understand HTC sync enables you to sync with Outlook.
HTC sync is available from the HTC hompage.

Sync problems with all WM6.5 Roms but no problems with WM6.1

I have 5000 contacts, and about 1000 calendar items.
Running Win XP. Office 2003.
When on WM6.1 (Dutty) all the sync are complete.
When I upgrade to any WM6.5 (I've tried Dutty, Energy, Leo, PDAViet, etc), the sync will have the errors, saying something about not able to sync with exchange server.
However, I'm not using Exchange server, but rather Outlook sync only.

Not only outlook, it happen with window live and ms myphone, error and live and myphone just hang at certain % and you get a lot of same entries. At outlook add notes to your current view and you can see, I think sense add detail like <...Do not delete.. so and so facebook.. etc> Delete it clean up double entry. Anyway Energy 21891 works.
Hope it help
Cheers
Not sure what you mean by 21891?
You mean only 21891 ROM works? Sync will be not an issue?
Cheers!

I just set up my groupwise email account as an IMAP account (you could do pop3 too) and it works fine. For calendar I set up a rule for all posted appointments to be delegated to my gmail calendar and then that syncs with my phone

Unfortunately not all IT departments allow IMAP/POP with the Groupwise server (my company included)...so I'm stuck trying to find some 3rd party software that can sync my corporate Groupwise e-mail to my new HTC Desire....
Do you have MS Outlook at your disposal? I find that if I install Groupwise on m computer first, then install MS Outlook, Outlook picks up my Groupwise account automatically. Then I use Google's free calendar sync utility on the computer to sync everything from Groupwise to Google Calendar. Really, once you get it set up, it mostly takes care of itself. I have no further special knowledge however, I just installed it and it worked for me.

FYI, this only works with GW7 and Outlook 2003. The magic is done by something called Groupwise Outlook Connector, which has been discontinued for GW8 and does not support Outlook 2007.
I've heard rumours that GW8 installed over GW7 still retains the connector, and thus is able to work with Outlook 2003. Not sure about it though.
Hmmm.... I have Groupwise version 8 and Outlook 2007, and it's worked fine for me. I honestly can't remember at the moment whether I ever had the older versions of these apps installed on this machine.

Thank you in advance

and after that install nitrodesk touchdown (exchange client for android)
Stop syncing with Outlook.
I recommend, open GMAIL account, then sync with GMAIL instead, and if you want to sync back to Outlook, download googlesync for outlook.
You can try this:
http://www.android-sync.com/
It uses ADB to sync.
However, connecting an Android phone to a computer is somewhat waste of time, everything can be done wirelessly including charging nowadays anyways.
MyPhoneExplorer
I recommend MyPhoneExplorer to sync Android builds with Outlook. Using it since it came out and it works great. There's even WLAN syncing supported (you need a plugin from the Market do be able to use WLAN). Also available from Market. Great software and comfortable as hell. Only downside: No Outlook category support.
Cheers, Olioaglio

+1, good program
If you use Outlook and sync on a work pc in an environment which is locked down and you can't just install all of these apps being suggested, just try re-installing HTC Sync and the HTC drivers. Works for me.
I'll assume you don't have Exchange. If you do, then just sync directly with Exchange. I you prefer all the benefits of having an Exchange account but want it for personal use, Microsoft now gives ActiveSync/Exchange support with all Hotmail accounts. Just get a hotmail account.
Gmail account is good for personal use, but I prefer all the interactivity that Microsoft has.
If you just want to sync, I'll second the vote for MyPhone Explorer

You can back-up your e-mails too, using this method.
Backing up text messages is possible through different software, but I wouldn't know how to get them on your WP7 Leo after that...
