While trying cm9 red lens battery fix my phone just stucked on the bootloader. So i flashed the sbf file for my region and now my defy+ is stucked in bootloops and i tried to flash sbf 3 to 4 times. But still no result. Guys help me please cause this is my first phone....... Thanx in advance
You're not flashing a SBF with lower BL version than you are already on.. Right??
PS: It isn't bricked. Its said to be bricked when it is a brick.
dont worry its easy to restore..
after flashing sbf, go to recovery (vol down+power)..when u get android with "!" logo press both volume up n down buttons together (better press in middle)..
in stock recovery clear data, cache & reboot..
hope thus helps..happened to me too..2 months back..

And if that doesn't work, you could always flash a stock SBF via RSD Lite, from the stock recovery (vol up + power)...
Questions go in the Q&A section
it happened to me too, don't be afraid, just calm down and "doesn't spend unnecessary energy from the battery"
with the wipes all will be alright

I'm facing the same problem here, after flash full sbf rom, it's possible to flash again, but with same result, i can't wipe since android won't start and i can't install clockwork.
any hint, clue or point for some documentation/tutorial is apreciated
thanks in advance

this is what solve the problem for me:
boot in recovery : pull out the batterie, boot with volume down and power.
when you see the android and the triangle, volume down + volume up, when in recovery, wipe data and cache.
i have the folowing "warnings"
wipe data/factory reset:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/caller
wipe cache partition:
E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log
the next boot took aprox 10 mins
hope this helps

hey, if you are stuck in an android logo, it means its the infinite boot-loop thing..
PLEASE make sure you are CORRECTLY trying to get into stock recovery or bootloader.
Here is what to do to get into recovery first:
1- turn off your phone (take the battery out and then put it back in)
2- press and OLD the volume DOWN button + power button
3- Motorola logo appears first, then after a few seconds an 'android ROBOT logo' appears
4- press volume UP and DOWN buttons at once, quickly
5- from the menu choose 'factory reset/wipe-format data'
6- then do 'wipe cache'
7- then do a reboot
see if it helps and you are able to start the phone normally
P.S. don't worry - a bootloop is a considerably easy thing to fix, at least i managed to fix mine yesterday.
good luck

I tried to upgrade my Motorola defy to icecream os and don't know what os to installed .. i downloaded CM9 and after rooting and installing recovery mode following all that step .. i end up in bootloop Got stuck with a white M logo .. then i later flashed it with this SBF file JORDN_U3_97.21.51.rar/ via RSD lite .. it did booted and it was running some 2.1 ver os. so now whenever i tried to upgrade that damn phone, i ended up in bootloop i have done this multiple time with different OS >> CM9 CM10 CM7 .. no luck

Procedure:

Hi ! Are you sure you took the good rom for your defy ? Is it a regular defy or a + ? Because you need to have the good rom for the good defy version ( at least for gb rom). Then before installing the rom with the recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cahe (in advanced) and even data if you come from 2.x to 4.x. (same thing from 4.x to 2.x).
It would work

Hi here the one I use : http://www.partage-facile.com/V96TH...nfryortcee_p016_a016_hwp3_service1ff.sbf.html
PS : It's in French but just go on "telechargement gratuit (VITESSE NORMALE)" and then on "télécharger ce fichier"
Follow the steps given by your_login and you should end with a froyo ROM. After it's as usual to install a custom ROM (root , 2nd init, wipes...)
Also when you are in bootloop remove the battery and restart the phone. When there is the blue led with the M logo press volume down and then go into recovery > stable recovery. I think it's better than your method
My phone is bricked after flashing!

Hey guys,
is it possible to revert my phone back to stock?
I am running CM10 at the moment and would like to send my phone into repair (because of my speaker).
Maybe there is no problem with a custom ROM but I would like to be sure they don't blame a ROM for a hardware fault.
Maybe some of you have a bit of expierence with Motorola service or with the mentioned problem above.
Thanks for any help!

Just flash the SBF via RSDLite...
You need to boot into the bootloader - see instructions i my post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33199328&postcount=1374
Then just do wipe data via stock recovery (boot with X pressed and then press vol up + down to see the recovery menu)
.. I've sent my Moto phone to repair with custom ROM (because my power button was broken, so I was not able to reflash it) and they have repaired it without any problem (thankfully) - but I definitely recommend you to do a nand backup and revert to stock with the instructions above

Wow that is easier than I thought, thanks!
If I flash the SBF, does that erase the custom bootloader/root etc. too?
I will give it a try in 2 weeks and see what the Motorola support ppl say.

you don't have a custom bootloader , but yes it will flash a stock version without Bootmenu or root.
Okay, then I meant Bootmenu, not Loader
Thanks again for the info, I will post an update if I succeed!
Just install a GB image from bootmenu and you will be ok. But the service will not mess with your software.

Thanks Anonymous_! Everything works fine now
Here is my procedure:
Programs/Files you need:
RSD Lite
SBF-File (make sure it's the right Kernel - Froyo/Gingerbread)
Motorola USB-Drivers (not sure if necessary for RSD-Lite)
Step-by-Step:
Install the USB-Drivers
Install RSD-Lite
Boot your phone into bootloader
remove battery
connect USB-Cable (PC to phone)
press and hold the buttons: camera + vol. down + power
put battery in while still holding these three buttons
Start RSD-Lite (with admin privileges)
Choose your SBF-File (with the "..." button)
Press Start
Then just "wipe data" via stock recovery
press and hold "x" on the hardware keyboard
boot your phone
press volume up AND down when you see the android robot (with the attention sign)
[*]Choose "wipe data" with the volume buttons
[*]Confirm with the power button, then confirm you choice again
[*]Then reboot from the recovery menu
Again my thanks goes to Anonymous_ for his instructions!
I was just going to ask the same question as the OP.
Thank you very much for the procedure explanation. Now I'm a bit more confident about upgrading to CM10
EDIT: What if when I try to boot via stock recovery, the Android robot appears but pressing Volume Up + Down don't do anything?
Thanks dudes, I bought a 2nd hand Milestone 2 with stock 2.2. I could not update to Android 2.3 with the Motorola official updater, so I followed this short tutorial. Now I have stock Android 2.3, Niceeee !! Now rooting the phone and removing the bloatware crap..

When I press vol -, nothing happens. Defy not be included in the stock recovery mode. Works only vol + (botloader).
Holding both volume down and power button even after the Motorola logo should get you into the stock recovery I.e android with an exclamation. From there holding both volume buttons should be enough. If this does not work then an sbf flash is necessary

If you are stuck with BL7, there's no way to downgrade from it.
Now, you'll have to follow this tutorial here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542956
It's simple. And if you do everything described, there's no way you will solve your problem.
After this, you'll be able to flash any Custom ROM.
Good Luck.

I can't enter the stock recovery in that my problem.: (

So, you are stuck in the Boot Loader screen?
Try following those steps:
1. Flash the .sbf file (4.5.1-134 DFP-231 CN or 4.5.1-134 DFP-231 Retail.en.EU CEE) directly from RSD Lite.
2. Reboot. Even if you get stuck in a bootlooping screen, hold Vol. Down Key while booting. Once inside de Stock Recovery screen, press both Vol. Down and Up keys at same time and do a Wipe.
3. After that, flash the rooted SBF 4.5.1-134 DFP-231 Retail.en.EU CEE Rooted SBF from RSD Lite

As far as I know, if your ROM enters in the M Logo, you should be able to get in the stock recovery.
This is one of the good things about having a locked bootloader.
Remember to press the Vol. Down Key on the right time, when the LED turns on for a while.
If it doesn't work, try holding the Vol. Down Key and then press the Power button to turn it on.
After that, in the Recovery Screen, press both Vol. Down and Vol. Up keys at the same time to access the Recovery Menu.
Please, let me know if it worked.
Good Luck.

As I told before, it's normal to get a bootloop in the DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_CN_SIGN.
After flashing this one, you still have to flash the 4.5.1-134 DFP-231 Retail.en.EU CEE Rooted SBF.
Reposting the steps:
If you can't wipe, just flash it with RSD Lite from the bootloader screen. To get there, hold Vol. Up Key while turning on your device.
Anyone please provide a better sbf file and ROM cm9 or 10 for my motoroal defy .. its completely bricked .. and i can't find a better one ... just provide one working sbf file to flash. i don't need a list of SBF file. if u can't provide here .. please send the links to my address >>
I tired numerous SBF files to flash thru RSD lite. .. but it stuck at black screen or logo. and when i enter into boot menu thru Triangle logo (Holding vol- button & pressing back button on screen) I can't wipe data / factory reset .. as i selects.. it keeps on restarting. Please help me
Were you able to enter the stock recovery? You need to wipe data and cache from the stock recovery after you flash a sbf..
Edit:
When you get that triangle logo,
Press volume up -down buttons consecutively (up-down up-down up-down) .. you'll then get the stock recovery. Wipe data and cache and reboot. You should be able to boot into the stock ROM.
Then follow the steps from this thread to root, install 2nd init, flash CM 9. All the best!
