So what does it mean for users.
Does it mean that ROMs like CM9 will start supporting everything like S-Pen, FM radio etc.,?
Or does it mean we will see slightly modified versions of stock roms. For example touchwiz removed, but swype there.

You are going to see a lot of different Roms once we have several safe custom kerenels.
CM9 will always remain lean and Samsung-free, but there'll be lots of CM9-based hybrid Roms catering for everybody's needs. Also, a lot of TW-based Roms.
I suspect that our Dev will soon start to look like SGS2 one:

As suspected, the N7000 ICS kernel is far from different from any i9100 iCS kernels !!!
I made comparison from all i91000 ICS kernels, and there were only slight diffs from "European" (called Open source : GT-I9100_ICS and GT-I9100P_ICS), with Korean Update 3 and Update 4.
The major changes came from i9100 Korean ICS update 5 !!!
This first N7000 ICS kernel is completely different from any previously quoted i9100 ICS kernels, including Korean ICS update 5 !!!

So does this mean this source is really old or maybe really new?
I hope kernel devs sees this and take into account: best feature of a kernel will be dual-boot mode, like siyah's kernel for SGS2 :X
Okay guyz there has been lots of discussion about jelly bean but were getting a bit late the s3 and one x has begun seeing alphas so we need to start making a porting team quickly
me my self I am not a developer but i have some knowledge and am just trying to organize a team since i really wanna see the port quickly
okay what we have now a porting guide from the galaxy nexus forum:

also i think the base Rom that we should work on :

If you are porting just for the heck of it do it and have fun.Having said that I would suggest you not to put your efforts in porting. Google is going to release source mid July, all your efforts will go waste in another 15 days. Wait for 15 days take the source and then build something for SII.

its better to work in a team and port instead of one doing it lol
following this steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739561 won't get it to boot
We REALLY don't need another topic for this do we? Be patient for goodness sakes. Advertise that you are looking for team members in the jellybean discussion thread, or use IRC to contact each other. Source is coming out soon, just wait.
Well Let´s hope that Jelly Bean is more similar to ics than ics was to gb..
I guess it is and therefore Cm10 will be booting soon.

No, we really don't need another thread, move this discussion here.
Hello, guys! A lot of people asked me how to flash custom ROMs on Xperia arc/S since I am the developer of Jelly Sandwich. Always I offered them a self-written guide (guide, tutorial - call it as you want). They were very glad of it. So... I thought, it would be great if I share the tutorial, so other people will be able to use them without asking me in private message. The tutorial I'm sharing with you is in .txt format. The ROM example in the guide is Arconium ICS, but if you don't want to flash that, just swap Arconium with other ROM you would like to use.

I have 3 question i followed your guide and its great, however i want to change kernel because arc knight is draining too much battery.
1)How to change a kernel should i just flash it with fastboot (follow step 3 to 11) or there is a different procedure?
2)What is the best kernel for Arconium 4.0 to get good battery life without overclock?
I think its this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680793, but correct me if im wrong....
3) Should i wipe something before or after i flash kernel and will i lose my data and apps?

Just like the Xpera U,P,Go & Sola I've also considered to make a Thread....for the Port Jelly Bean to Galaxy S Advance from Galaxy SIII Mini :fingers-crossed:
It's know that our Galaxy S Advance is a device with Novathor u8500 SoC chipset
and right now, i'm pretty sure that Samsung will provide Jelly Bean for our device next year. But, we also know that there out is a device with our same chipset and Jelly Bean at launch. Yes, i'm talking about Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini. I have been talking with some users on their forum and i think some information can help us to port jelly bean to our Galaxy S Advance
So, here are some files which can help us to make a working Jelly Bean Rom on our device:
1. I want to thanks nixonik member to provide a full system dump of SGSIIIMini in here System dump.

2. Jelly Bean open source code for this rom, provided by Samsung.

Yeah, 4.1.2 is not that important, because we will get that update in a few weeks. But that will be the last android version update for our phone, and it will most probably be unsupported after that. The s3 mini will get more updates, 4.2, 5.0 maybe. Or more. And if we can port this, we may be able to port future roms from s3 mini, too. And that would be great.
