I have exactly the saeme problem. MDA is PWA10A2, the update is for PWA10A1 and thus doesn't flash. (except for radio which I updated already).
You can use the ROM Image tool from here, it needs a 32MB SD card and a PC SD card reader but it is supposed to be risky.
Anybody tried updating to this ROM on PWA10A2 before we burn our machines? >
Get your self a FAQ with a description for a language change. Then patch that file according to that FAQ, do not change the language but the phone type. that's all.
** Remember, you might loos guaranty, it might fail or your device might get broken ! **
Can I revert to the older ROM (the working ROM) then? The bootloader should work anyway?
I can't see the FAQ though, is it PPC general or MDA/XDA specific?
I patched the ROM (rewrote the desired ID of XDA to match with my MDA ), flashed and... guess what... it works

South Africa is also not going to be getting an upgrade by the looks of things... i find that ridiculous. why not just let us install the UK versions...it's the same language after all...
sigh.
Why this stepmotherly treatment to some countries?
Btw, has anyone downloaded the UK version? Does it work?

HT97TL102778 appears to be working.
Has anyone installed a UK / Europe ROM on an Asiapac device? Does it work?
Called up HTC customer care number 1800113377
asked them about "when we will get the update?". Lady on the phone clearly said "we ARE going toget the update". we just have to wait little bit more.
the update is ready with them and it is the HTC HQ's call when to release the update.
bottom line is "wait and watch http://www.htc.com/in/support.aspx"

DAMN! i'm sorry to hear about your scare...i kinda feel responsible, having suggested the idea!
may I ask why you are avoiding installing a cooked or even OFFICIAL (as in UK version) ROM? are you worried about guarantee? or the risk of damaging your phone? Because if so, then i am gladly willing to walk any1 through the steps you need to take to get it running.
Guide me pls..
drag-on.. i'll b happy if u could guide me thro the steps , i was kinda scared to install a cooked rom on my HTC diamond2 till now coz while trying to do the same with my HTC touch i bricked my mobile a year back..
and i couldnt find a proper step by guide for doin this.. in every thread regarding the same somebody or the other is getting into problems..
so pls illustrate a proper step by step guide on the procedures of installin a ROM on a factory HTC touch diamond2..
I'll be glad to. what i would then rather do is send you a private message with the steps, so that we don't clutter the forums and have snide comments from senior members about how "easy" it all is. (they ARE right, but i know the first time is scary)
i'm going partying now, but i'll be glad to send you (and any1 else who asks for a private message) step by step instructions tomorrow.
what you can do in the mean time, is have a look at which ROM you think you might want (i'll add my suggestions anyways) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=486
thanks dude..
thanks for the help dude.. i'll go thro that documents now..
lookin forward to ur message..

I have not seen any instructions that deal with this phone. This phone has root access and Cyanogen 3.6.6/xdan (Android 1.5). To upgrade to the latest you do not need to root the phone, it is already.
You need to Update the Recovery image as explained here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_G1/Dream_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod#Cyanogen_Recovery_Image
(Do not follow the whole page, just the "Cyanogen Recovery Image" section.
Then you you can upgrade the system as explained here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_ADP1_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod#Flash_Android_1.6_.26_the_Latest_version_.28stable.29
(Do not do the whole page just the "Flash Android 1.6 & the Latest version (stable)" section.
If anyone cares can you fix my links. I wanted to share this but I may not need to come back here again. Hope it helps someone.
what if upgrade from a stock tim htc dream?so far as i know the bootloader(HBOOT-1.38.0000) prevent downgrading to rc29/rc7
Does that phone differ in hardware at all?
I'm trying to find out if it'll do hsdpa on 1700/2100, required for my provider.

I've got the TIM branded phone (I'm in Aus on Optus also). So this phone comes with root access out of the box? That may explain my problems trying to downgrade to rc7/rc29. Did you buy yours through Optus or online?
Seems very little web info in english about getting Cyanogen on this phone (probably cos Aus seems to be only english speaking country to use it?)
-d
well. there are enough people using it in Asia (transported from Hong Kong I think), but mostly the new informations about these are in Chinese.
Seems it's already rooted, but other than that, there's no difference with older versions.

Dear all,
I just saw in se-nse.net forum under the thread "Firmware List from SEUS" that the latest firmware for X2 is R3AC036.
Can someone help me out if this firmware can be installed on my phone.
My phone currently has R3AA035 firmware, GENERIC_SG. I live in India. I'm unable to update to this R3AC036 firmware using SEUS.
How do i update to that firmware. I read on some forums that this firmware has more updates.
Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
the update is in Chinese language you can check this thread for changes(use google translate)

No english firmware R3AC036 for Xperia X2?

Thank you very much. But i came to know about this firmware update after looking at this very link. Google's translation makes it all look crazy.
You're saying its a Chinese firmware, so that means there's no english firmware R3AC036?
Do you have an Xperia X2? Does it give good battery life?
My X2's battery gets drained really fast. I tried disabling Slideview and Panels but i did not see any drastic change. I reset the device to factory settings. Deleted a few unnecessary panels and the battery seems to last similar to when i disabled Slideview and Panels.
I really like Slideview and SPB panel. I just don't feel like deleting everything this phone was actually advertised for.
yes i have x2,the battery life is really good with moderate usage last 2 days
as for the panel system I've disabled it using sktools... for 2 reasons ... memory depleting and power hungry.
is there more info on this thing ?

No i guess not until some expert advice is seen here. I'm hoping someone here might look up into the highlights in the new update and whether there's an English version of R3AC036 for Xperia X2.
Would definitely love to have a perfectly functioning X2 instead of compromising by deleting and disabling everything in it.
Seniors please help us.
Experts, any help?
i think any one can update to this firmware by avery simple solution
-change language to chinese then update with seus , full description here
then you would get the new update, but the question is "can you revert back to your original rom???"

Hey, thank you, but that method looks a bit risky to me. If something goes wrong, the phone won't even have the customizations in its ROM to bring it back to normal.
Its strange that no one is talking about this new firmware in Xda. There must have been some reason SE has released the firmware update.
I'm wondering why SE hasn't released this new firmware for all regions?

I dont think that would solve his problem. Did you try updating on fresh installation of win 7. there should not be any problem with the os or the drivers because i've updated my X2 so many times with win 7.
Just let us know what method you're following after starting SEUS. Does your phone act normal when you do what you're supposed to do during that.

you try to check the Windows Firewall !! perhaps usbsync or wmdc have been blocked by them..
Is there anybody from China here in XDA who has an X2 and has updated their firmware? They would be the best people to explain the difference(s) between 035 and 036 firmwares. Please do not hyperlink to chinese forums and suggest using google translation.
Clearly explain the changes you've noticed in your X2 (better or worse, and how)
Please help all the X2 users.
please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ZTE Blade will soon celebrate it's 1th birthday and there is still no official update to Android 2.2. So i'm asking: when it will be finally finished? I really can't stand 2.1 (especially a think, that i cannot save my apps on memory card). I know that it was released in Finland, but why there? Why not for exaple in UK (only it may be in engilsh)... I'm really sad about this. So, does anyone know when finally there will be official update?
sorry for my bad English..
thanks, mirko185
With the price being so low in the UK I have my doubts that 2.2 will get released here.
Can someone please point me to a guide on the official 2.2 ROMs which I assume can be installed.
ZTE has released Froyo kernel(2.6.32) source code for the Blade... Check "System Equipment" under front page top "Support" link.
yes, I've already noticed it, but it doesn't helps me anyway... And they have so slow servers, and really non-systematic website..

well, I'm from Slovakia, so I don't know from which from these page I should download it, and, of course, I'm really happy, finnaly it's here! I only want English version, and it should have every of these roms, isn't it?
and, thank really much!
I tryed the Hungarian T-Mobile one, but unfortunately it didn't work for my device, it says that my device has another version. I think it's becouse of my phone is from Slovak Orange. What a shame... :/ But at least I can believe that Orange is finishing their ROM, if T-mobile already has it done (I hope).
thanks anyway.
I have a Spanish Version of the ZTE Blade that is running 2.2. I backed up the rom before I installed a custom rom so if anyone wants a copy of what was backed up by rom manager then let me know and I will see what I can do...As far as I can remember my Blade is version B10. Hope that help someone.
Hi could you post your back up. I don't need the data.img

I am using the Hungarian froyo update on my orange UK san Francisco.
Sent from my ZTE-BLADE using XDA App
edit: to get this working I downloaded this https://market.android.com/details?id=com.apedroid.pigfish to make sure my device is gen1
I then downloaded this http://www.wuala.com/peanut_hu/OSF_Blade/ROMs/fonix232/T-Mobile_HU_memory_fix_ROM which is the gen1 t-mobile hungarian eclair rom, you extract this and place this on your blade's sdcard, so sdcard/image/
turn your blade off, hold down volume + and power button, and the blade will flash the eclair rom, after this you need the above t-mobile hungarian froyo rom, http://www.t-mobile.hu/lakossagi/keszulekek/szoftverfrissites/telefon/zte_blade_2 , start your blade in FTM mode, hold volume - and power on device, flash from windows. Let it complete to 100%, all done, now running an official froyo rom
GREAT!! I gonna try this out right now!
edit:well, i relazed my blade is not rooted, so i cannot flash eclear ROM.. is there another way to install this eclear?
edit1: well, I managed to flash the hungarion officila om from T-mobile, but I can't start the phone cousa it's asking me code for unblock networks.. I try to search this out, BTW, If u did the same thing as me, do u have this code too?
The network unlock code is unique for each device.
You can get your code to network unlock your blade for free by typing your phones IMEI number here: http://arrtoo.x10.mx/unlockBlade.php
'Arr Too' over at modaco is hosting this for the blade
My blade has been network unlocked from the first day i got it
Sent from my ZTE-BLADE using XDA App
yop, mine was unlocked too, but when I flashed a T-MOBILE 2.2 android, it had locked it.. but I unlocked it and everything works like a charm..
