All by freezing the stock.Launcher with TB and running GoLauncher as my primary. I barely used it in that time, but I never got through a full 24hrs with the stock launcher running.

Standby......
How are you launching the stock Kindle app? Or do you just not use it?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Only 24 hours in standby doesn't sound normal. Still interesting. What app are you showing us in the attached image?
Mine will last several days in standby, unless I am forcing wifi on while screen is off. Otherwise, this thing doesn't use any power in standby.
Yes, it was standby, and if you're getting over 3.5 DAYS in standby, you're not using a stock Kindle Fire. I am, with the exception of root, and GoLauncher. My wife, mother-in-law, and myself all have Fires, and all weekend we were busy, and mine was the only one not recharged at all during the weekend.
The app is stock Ginger Bread battery monitor.
And if you look closely, you see the solid blue line all the way across the bottom meaning Wifi was on constantly.
And finally, I launch the Fire based apps through the stock launcher (Kindle, MP3, Video), then I hit the Home button which leaves them in RAM, and as long as I don't close them with the back arrow, they launch with their icons from GoLauncher until a reboot usually. Then I freeze Launcher again. If an app won't open, I defrost Launcher and relaunch it, then refreeze Launcher. It's tedious, but it works, and I get much better battery life.

I have stock rooted with GL, and I have had it on stand by for two weeks, yes 14 days. I left it at home while I was gone for 14 days and it still had some charge. You must have a lot of apps running in the BG!

agreed. my kids leave their's laying around for a week at a time, pick it up and have about half the battery left. Thing only drains on standby if you let wifi stay on with screen off, I only turn wifi on when needed since I'm using it as a media device.
This is was I used to get back in the days I had CM7 installed...

Bought the vibrant 4 days ago. Flashed it 2 with the Obsidian ROM. Getting great battery life from it too.
Had some free time on my hands yesterday and went on an app downloading rampage. In two hours of light use today my battery has dropped 40%!
How can I identify the source of the power loss?

Media hub always seems to start itself and does drain some. Have you reconditioned your battery yet? I'm on obsidian v2 and this is where I'm at so far.

19 hours with 23% left, not too bad. I downloaded a boat load of apps, installed even more from backup, played a little bit of angry birds and have been streaming Pandora for the past 4 hours.

I did. Took about 9 hours of constant use to drain the ***** too! Exactly why I dont get what's draining the battery. Task manager and Services seem normal as well. Battery usage itsthe same as yours... :\ FML
What I do to recondition is charge to 100% and keep it plugged in for 5 minutes longer... unplug for a minute or two, plug back in, charge til full again and keep plugged in for a few minutes longer. Continually doing this until it takes awhile for it to get below 100% unplugged. This seems to work better for me than the charge, clear battery stats, discharge etc.. and doesn't take nearly as long.

i'll give it a shot... she went down to 11% in a flash. lets see whats up
System panel is a great app to monitor how much CPU an app uses.

Wow.. what rom runs the beast?
seems about right, what's your point?
I get 8+ hrs of just music, some surfing, emails, notifications xD
7+ hrs of video including all the above
Running omega, today I got 15 hours total including fifty minutes of video, a twenty five minute phone call, and four hours total screen time. Tons of texting too. Currently at seven percent.

This is what you can really achieve..
very pleased. coming from a desire HD which was always dead at the end of the day with economical use, the GS3 is a dream come true. with above normal usage and screen brightness on max it barely eats 30%.

i am very satisfied. my daily use for this phone is like this.
Wake up unplug the charger. put on my bluetooth so it connects to my car 40 min ride to work while listening to music from my phone to car. while at work make a tonne of calls, whatsapp, text, sometimes game, use a app called filmon to watch tv, reconnect phone to car and come back let my little sisters play dodgeball for an hour or so and then when i get it back it says connect your charger 10 percent or less left..
Best battery wise phone i ever owned in awhile.. I know this cuz i came from a LG Optimus 3D and oh my god 4 hours battery max even on standby is shyt..
Edit: oops didn't mean to quote you hit the wrong button lol..

What's so weird about that? Your device has been on for nearly 8 hours and it's at 73% battery life. You've clearly not been using the device very much in that time, so obviously the system processes will have a higher percentage than anything else.
Exactly the same thing happened with me today. I've never had android system consuming more battery than my screen, and today the android system battery consumption stood at almost 50% (twice that of screen). The tablet was idle for around 12 hours (WiFi off) and the battery fell by around 15%. Never ever happened before.
I upgraded to 4.2 a couple of days back.

Do you use Llama or any other app like that by any chance? I'm just trying to figure out what could be the root cause of this

same for me with the new 3g 32gb and 4.2
tablet been on 3 hours and 36 mins done nothing with it and its already used 25% battery
Android OS is at 64%
old 16gb with 4.2 on, same time and just sitting doing nothing only used 3% battery
Android OS at 4%
any thoughts ??
Bob
Haven't been able to figure out the reason unfortunately. If I do, would definitely post on here. Hope you guys would do the same.

hello im new to android coming over from wp8 (nokia 920) which i LOVE to death but ive been through 6 920s since launch for a few different reason. Att allowed me to get the g2 for $50 bucks and i get to keep this 920. ive read alot obout the g2s battery and i just wanted to know what i need to disable besides the usual nfc gps stuff to make my battery last longer. I had the screen on for no more than 10 minutes and my batter dropped from 95 to 87 and all i did was look around in settings and take 2 pics with no flash the screen brightness is set to 60 auto.
You have to allow it to go through about 4 charge cycles to calibrate and then your battery life will be insane.
Sent from my VS980 4G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Don't install anything or do anything. Give it a few days (after the new honeymoon phase) of normal use...you'll get it going the entire day. That drop is fine, don't worry about it.

Don't turn on the screen.... Ever... and your battery life will be amazing!
Apps can be your best friend and worst enemy. Make sure that you don't have rogue apps eatting your batter and/or apps that have a lot of sleep wake issues and don't let your phone go into deep sleep. Use battery stats apps and sleep wake apps to track down those unwanted apps
Sent from my GT-I9295 using Tapatalk 4
Don't use it?
But seriously. If you plan to not to use that ****ton of features LG included, you can simply root it, install Titanium Backup, and freeze those processes.
Also disabling WiFi hotspots and GPS is said to be the greatest battery saver.
I have CID off, GPS and use 2x battery app.

I assumed it was caller ID, but I can't see how that would save battery life, beside maybe freezing the bloatware app that's on the Verizon version (not sure if it's on the other versions).
Ok guys, I keep hearing people ranting and raving about this phone's battery, however I feel that mine is either faulty or everyone else is exaggerating. On a typical day, of normal usage, heavy web browsing, occasional 10 minute game session, I can get about 4 hours screen on time, and about 14 hours total time before it's dead and I need to charge. I have minimal wake-locks now that I've figured the majority of them out, and keep location services on device sensor only. My device is deep sleeping more than being awake, and will last quite a while while asleep, battery doesn't seem to abnormally drain while asleep. Every time I've been able to track it down to a wake-lock issue if it has.
It's draining very fast (it seems) while screen is on though. Wifi calling is almost always on the majority of the time.
Any ideas? Is this way off? Or is this the norm?
I've done the usual factory restores and all that, and still no improvement.
Thanks!
Example:
Are you using a custom kernel? You could try dorimanx's and heavily skew the CPU towards a lighter load
I used to get 4h on screen time for quite a while, but k realised that it was cos of 4G @ and the way I used my phone. If you read a lot and hardly launch or close anything the battery life gets better very quickly
Sent from my LG-D802
That seems about right.
On stock I get between 4 and 6 hours screen time and about 24 hours on battery. Being on WiFi rather than 3g helps a lot and turning down the screen brightness.

Do you guys have similar averages? (Seen at bottom of image)
