quick questions

HI all,
I have a Q from a Developer Friend and looking to root it and get some more functionality. Without hours of reading can you point me to the most used extra functionality rom.
I was also wondering if I can use the Q's amp function as play through for my other components. Was hoping not to have to buy an A/V receiver but just an hdmi switcher with audio.

there aren't really any roms that I'm aware of - most of us are rooting and just running a tweaked version of the existing OS
only rom I know of is not really complete but here it is:

Best reference for hacking this thing I've found is here:

As far as your other question - I'm not sure
BTW you will want to buy a OTG cable, a usb hub

It was a Dev question not a,"how do i power it on question". Good thing you're keeping these massive forums cleaned.

tks gio
the only digital output would be with bluetooth, the 3.5mm is analog.
Not that Bluetooth gives BETTER audio but it's digital

The i9500 and i9505 share General and Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting sections.

will all my respect for justmpm and the amministartion , i'm non agree ,because all thread are based on member discussions.
So we apologize .but we do no underatsand why you close.
tks gio.
Questions go in the Q&A forum next time (thread moved).
Audio is different to everyone as everyone's ears are different and prefer different things in audio. Therefore it is completely useless to ask this sort of question. As Justmpm said, it is best to try it out for yourself.
As for why Justmpm closed your thread, should you have queries on why a moderator has done something, please feel free to approach them via PM.
Thread closed for the above reasons (mainly the second paragraph).

Is there a solution for using audio visualizations while on HDMI/MHL

Hi, is there a workaround yet? I was reading about viper audio engine. Does that replace the built in DSP. I have a sprint GS4 and I would really like to be able to use audio glow while my phone is connected to my appradio2.
thanks.

I've never experienced this personally but, I have seen others do this using a few methods.
I can't state (honestly) what method will or won't work but, the following is just 1 thread I've seen that may be where you can obtain some guidance with this.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3190613
I'm not sure if @curiousrom knows what/how to do this but, it doesn't hurt to ask...
Though there's nothing wrong with posting this question on a new thread the way you did but, you can always try to obtain some member guidance within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device and variants.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700073
I would suggest/recommend not to post this question elsewhere unless/until your unable to obtain guidance on this thread after approximately 7-10 days.
This is only because the XDA Moderators frown upon duplicate posts of the same question in various places at the same time.
Just a little helpful guidance/hint for you.
Good Luck!
